Very friendly and welcoming staff, loved the separate kitchen, modern bathroom, tv and sky, toiletries, quiet. I didn't have breakfast but I was informed in the morning that they would have gone out of the way to cater for my diet (vegan and gluten free) which I appreciated very much. In all, I felt very, very relaxed and at home there immediately which is rare in a hotel environment.

Alas, I didn't find the bed that comfortable personally. I don't think there was a hairdryer there either but luckily I brought my own. Otherwise, that was all.

Family room was a 2 rooms and a larger bathroom. Rooms were a great size. The owner and staff we interacted with were all lovely and helpful. 50min drive to Cardiff which since we were visiting for the WWE event was were we were going, the prices were not upped even though they definitely could have as the prices for Cardiff as soon as it was announced and even other surrounding areas was absolutely insanely marked up. Parking wasn’t an issue. Food in the pub was lovely and we had a very pleasant stay.

The room was very clean and the breakfast was exceptional. The hosts were very accommodating and very friendly. It was so good we stayed a 2nd night!! The location was very close to Zip World and a number of waterfalls. A great hotel for using as a base to get to wherever you want to go. I will certainly be recommending this accommodation to friends. Thank you for a very pleasant stay and will be returning in the near future.

Hospitality of the owners was excellent, nothing was to much trouble. Breakfast was freshly cooked along with juices and cereals being provided, the choice was endless and plentiful. The Welsh breakfast was recommended which I did try and it was fine, give it a try, if you do visit. (Cockles, lava bread, bacon and scrambled egg) The additional features of a small lounge area and a fully fitted kitchen / utility area where a real bonus. Cleanliness of bedrooms, restaurant and bars was excellent. As a location for visiting the Rhondda Valley it was perfect, within 1/2 mile you can be in the on the mountain pass and away from the town. Local shops are also within easy walking distance. The local train station is just a short walk with regular trains to Cardiff and beyond.

The weather could have been better, when it rains in Wales it really does rain. The owners did not have much control over that but they did provide useful suggestions for places to go. We did visit the Royal Mint which on a wet day does provide an extremely good dry destination with a very nice cafe for meals or snacks,

Stayed for couple of nights with my three boys, went mountain biking nearby, superb scenery, clean air, not too busy. The accommodation was just perfect, with a generous bathroom and four single beds. We also had access to a fully fitted kitchen which is outside in the common area. The owner has been fantastic and really looked after us

We booked 2 nights as part of our 10 day break to Wales as I had booked the zip wire for my husband’s 60th birthday. The drive to Treherbert was one of the most spectacular journeys I have had. The hotel was fantastic and central location for beautiful waterfall walks and only 25 minutes from the waterfall used in the Batman movie. This was amazing. The staff at Dunraven were really friendly and gave us lots of information on places to visit. Would definitely recommend this lovely quaint hotel and would love to come back especially for the breakfast. The hotel also had a kitchen that you could use and the bar on an evening was full of local people who were just the most friendly people and very welcoming.

Loved the location, amazing views and would have loved to have had more time to explore around. It was perfect for our trip to zipworld which is literally a 10 minute drive. Amazed to hear the we were a few minutes from the uks best high street 2020. The breakfasts were amazing and the choice of whatever you want. Which was a little out of the ordinary for us menu lovers but for the children it meant freshly made pancakes stack, syrup chocolate spread and strawberries. The staff were so friendly and helpful and could not so enough for us. From changing rooms so we're were closer togther, helping us with visit suggestions and directions and keeping the younger ones from getting hangry. The rooms were clean and tidy and bathrooms very modern. We were amazed we had a seating sofa area and a kitchen as well near our rooms. The younger ones enjoyed playing some board games and we had a bottle of processco in the fridge ready for when we got back late.

Pillows in the room were a bit flat but spoke to staff and were given an extra pillow. Room was a little chilly but extra blankets were provided.

I absolutely can recommend the Dunraven Hotel. Not only is it placed in the sweetest little village of Treherbert with green coated hills all around it, the hotel is kept in high standard when it comes to clean rooms both when arriving and during stay, the loveliest home cooked food in abundance and not the least the warm-hearted and highly service minded staff that made me feel at home and relaxed. I was amazed by the Welsh kindness and open hearted people that I met. Of course you can choose how much or how little you want to engage, but one thing is for sure, the landlords, Ruth and Nick, are ever present with a spirit of helpfulness, interest and kindness that is spread throughout the whole hotel to their staff and their guests, both locals and people like me passing through. Hotels are only as good as the people in it! I am so happy and grateful that I happened to stumble upon this little gem in South Wales.

The whole area and the rooms had been done to a very good standard. All areas were very clean the staff were very friendly and helpful. the addition of a shared kitchen was a surprise and I’m sure very welcome if staying for a longer break. Position was perfect for exploring the area being close to the Rhigos easy access to Brecon, Neath etc. parking across the road was perfect.

Ruth and Nick were exceptional hosts. Everyone was friendly and so accomodating! Amazing breakfasts and shower. Mini fridge and tea/coffee facilities, decent TV. Lovely comfortable beds, no disturbances. Lots of little extras, like use of a full kitchen (washing machine, freezer, microwave, table and chairs and all cutlery/crockery) A comfy seating area and bookcases. Downstairs, there's 3(?) bar areas and a fantastic outdoor space in the pub. You have your own entrance and key to come and go freely. There's free parking right outside.The Dunraven Hotel is a perfect base to explore the beautiful surroundings and sights. It's in an area of beauty and convenience, with good views from the room and the shops all local too. Thanks again so much to you both, we're looking forward to our return!😁😍
