The room was nice with a large bathroom and shower. The food in the restaurant was excellent, the best I have had in the U.K. so far. The grounds were beautiful and the parking lot was extremely spacious.

There were hot water pipes that ran through the walls and floor which radiated heat into the room. It was a warm day and evening and the room stayed about 26C inside even with the window open until the hot water stopped circulating in the early morning. The internet was slow and something about it prevented my VPN from being able to connect. You could not connect to the internet from the room, you had to go into the pub to make the initial connection. After this, you could go back to the room and use it but it was very slow.

My husband and I, stayed here over night, while travelling home to Wales, after dropping our family to Heathrow airport. It’s situated, in the beautiful English countryside, not too far from the M4. The room was spacious, immaculately clean, comfortable, very tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. It included tea and coffee facilities, with fresh milk and a glass jar of very yummy, shortbread biscuits. The staff are so friendly, always greeted us with a smile and were happy to chat and ensure we had everything we needed. The separate bar area is quaint, with a warm farm house feel. While the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food, absolutely delicious. We will definitely return, even if it’s only to stop off for a coffee and something to eat, on our way home to Wales. It really is worth a visit.

Super friendly and helpful staff made check in a breeze. Shown to a lovely double room, with plenty of space, and squeaky clean. Large bathroom with shower over bath. Bed was super comfortable. The food and service was excellent, although they could have taken more of our money if they’d have offered to top up our empty glasses during our meal. I stay away a lot for work, and this is one of the few places where I’ve felt comfortable throughout. Comfortable in the bar, comfortable in the restaurant, comfortable in the room. When away on business, what more can you ask for? I’d happily stay here again, and would highly recommend.

More drinks!

We had a wonderful mid-week one night stay at this quaint place. Beautiful cosy bedroom with lovely sized shower and huge bath. The bed was very comfortable, and although our room was situated road side and we could hear the road traffic this died down around 10pm. We celebrated our 25th anniversary in the restaurant by having a full 3 course meal in the restaurant, which has a lovely ambience. Food was a bit pricey, not your usual pub fare, but really excellent ! The Wooky Hole Cheddar Souffle for starters was light and tasty. We both had the Walter Rose Sirloin steaks for mains which was cooked to perfection and very tender. I recommed the garlic butter for these. This was topped with a decadent desert of Ameretto Choclate mouse and raspberry sorbet to cut the sweetness and my husband had the sticky toffee pudding with fluffy caramel creme. Truly a treat.

The setting was peaceful and pretty, the garden area was was beautiful and the pub/restaurant was cosy. The staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble! Stayed in the feature room, had amazing views, big spacious room with a lovely bathroom. The road could be busy at times but the traffic noise didn’t bother us at all. The free charging point for customers was a nice touch and very much appreciated!

There was nothing not to like but if I had to be critical the water wasn’t very hot in the shower or when I ran the bath.

This is a traditional country pub with accommodation. The public areas have lots of charm and the serving staff very friendly and well trained. The food is very good - tasty and plentiful.

The rooms are described as ‘luxurious’ which is a bit of an exaggeration - our room was perfectly acceptable but certainly not above average. There seemed to be some misconception on the part of housekeeping as we had to ask for our room to be made up when we returned in the late afternoon to find the room still as we had left it in the morning.

Free Parking, cosy atmosphere in the pub, heating was on in our room when we arrived so was lovely and toasty (it was below 0 outside so much appreciated) hot tub was warmed up and ready, good sized shower with toiletries provided, huge and comfy bed with free water bottles and coffee machine in the room, gorgeous food in the restaurant, relaxed service. Overall an excellent anniversary get away and we will undoubtedly be back as we both loved it

(Great stay - had to dig deep for these!) Car park might be difficult to navigate if you're not aware - I saw a tip to not take the first turning and this was useful! Vegan options were not marked on the menu so I had to ask about this but the staff were very accommodating. The handle on the entrance to the bar from the room needed attention as it was difficult to get in

Beautiful property, located in a peaceful area with wonderful views. The pub and restaurant was superb, really delicious food! Our room was for 2 people and it was even enough space for our two dogs, very clean, with super comfy bed and pillows, you’ll find coffee/tea/water there as well. The whole place is very thoughtful and with attention to details and style. And huge thank to a manager (?) Dana! We will come back to this place as soon as we plan our trip to the South of UK again. Definitely recommend it!

Beautiful setting, great food and lovely bedrooms with great decor. I would stay again, but try to get a room with a hot tub. The staff were so friendly and helpful - they took care to remember who we were each day and arranged a dinner for us upon arrival even though we were getting there late.

The bathroom was a little smelly. They provide ear plugs that were needed when trying to sleep as people were still outside our room chatting.

Very Friendly staff, nice bar & restaurant area with good food and cocktails, lovely outdoor seating area, lovely food. The homemade bread was So delicious!! I would stay again!

I would not choose the scotch room if given the choice. Quite small & situated next to the roadside so the bedroom door would bang every time a car went past. The bed was quite comfy though. The shower mount had broken so had to hold the shower head but this was going to be addressed.
