Fabulous location nestled in the Elan valley surrounded by hills, trees and wildlife. Very friendly, welcoming staff. The evening ploughman's was a feast in itself and the breakfast superb with a lot of choice and generous portions. Incredibly quiet and peaceful with ample walks on the doorstep or room just to be outside and relax, weather permitting! Surprisingly the wi-fi signal was excellent.

We were unaware that parking is available to the rear so we parked on the roadside area that is a bit of a haul up hill and up the path with bags etc, especially in poor weather. It's a bit out of the way with no mobile phone signal at all (hardly surprising) so will feel very remote to some.

loved the staff- really friendly and efficient. fantastic location. great breakfast and I have to say that although we didn’t have it the afternoon teas looked amazing.

we had a bit of a noisy room. we didn’t bring it up because it was intermittent and largely stopped overnight but there was an intrusive humming noise., we think connected to neighbouring guests bath room fan. also worth knowing if you are in Caban goch you are next to the tea station so late lie ins are dependant on thoughtful behaviour by other guests. both these issues are largely outside of the control of staff but do impact on your stay.

Very comfortable, recently renovated, room. Nice, clean, comfy, bed and pillows. Nice bathroom, with large bath, and shower.

Wifi is very poor, but sort of understandable as the property is in the middle of nowhere. TV in the room we had was at the side of the bed a not so easy to watch without cricking your neck. Communal kettle on landing for tea/coffee making would be better per room but I understand there are power issues at the property.

it is stunning and away from the world a real gem and a chance to sit breathe in the beauty that is nature at its best. no phone signal so a chance to get away from the thing that stops you interacting as we did 20/30 years ago. The scenery is stunning as is the drive. Ploughman’s platter for two is well worth it and a lovely selection of homemade cakes available too. lovely staff who were great to chat to and always happy to help.

nothing to dislike really my only moan was they lost water supply so ended the break sooner than we’d have liked but will be back soon

Lovely clean room, kind and cheerful staff. Breakfast was beautiful with lots of choice. Area is outstanding. Would definitely return. Very accommodating owners when we were late. Highly recommend **** perfect for dark skies too. Bed and sheets were lovely.had a good night's sleep.

Heating in room was too high, did manage to turn it down but room was very warm for some time..had to keep window open.no kettle in room only on landing which was a bit of a pain to share and was noisy as used by other guests. No main bin in room. These niggles did not spoil our trip and due to only a brief stay didn't want to moan about trivial things over night. I have no doubt staff would have been helpful if we had.

Amazing friendly welcoming staff who make you feel like family, such a warm welcome. Fabulous location in the Elan Valley. Gorgeous homemade cakes, it was a shame that we didn't have chance this time to sample the breakfast as it also smelt very appetizing. A great selection of teas, coffee and biscuits in the room too which was great. The night time view from the room was incredible and the chairs on the terrace were a perfect touch for star gazing and we were lucky to have a clear sky.

We couldn't quite work out how to get cold water from the tap for the in-room kettle, but water bottles were supplied so we used them.

It was in a delightful area away 7 miles from Rhayader. The full Welsh breakfast my husband had was the best I've seen and my poached eggs on toast were cooked perfectly. The whole place was spotlessly clean.

The directions to the B & B we felt were confusing and didn't need to mention a turning 3 miles from Rhayader. There is absolutely no mobile phone signal which made it impossible to use Google map either. They were kind enough to offer to let us use the house phone for calls out but there was sick so Whasapp was useable

Nestled in the perfect location to enjoy remote rolling Welsh mountains with an abundance of well preserved local historical sites, all within walking distance. We came here to enjoy a weekend away from the paces of everyday working life, and we were well greeted with a warming welcome from the staff, lodge and natural Welsh countryside - plus the full Welsh breakfast is great! Facilities were great with a very large king size bed and highly sought after view from the window. Top washroom facilities, very clean and shower has great pressure and temperature. Room cleaned daily. A little drive to the nearest town which is great because of the views along the way! Once you're in town there are plenty of friendly places to wine and dine, buy souvenirs and mooch around.

Nothing to report because the stay was great, however a suggestion could be for the house to capitalise on its' location more by providing a local area guide to its' history, viewpoints etc. so in the evenings you could plan the next days trips.

The location was lovely overlooking a forest and lake. It was such a lovely place so quiet and peaceful; was such a good base to explore the local area. The food was good albeit due to the shortness of our stay we only ate the breakfast. The staff were lovely and friendly and had good suggestions on places to visit

One issue which I was aware of ahead of time was the lack of mobile phone coverage and the Satellite Internet which meant it was quite hit and miss on being able to access the internet. However I have since learned that 4G is now in the local area via OpenReach [Need to confirm this]

We had lunch when we arrived which was good and the choice of cakes was lovely. Could not fault the breakfast either. The location of the property is rather remote, but the views were absolutely lovely.

Only slight niggle was the bed in our room was rather on the creeky side, other than that very good.
