Parkers House Bed & Breakfast

This property definitely exceeded expectations. I've never stayed at a b&b before so was quite apprehensive. However what a beautiful place. Everything was done to a high standard. Breakfast was lovely. The room was clean. Some very nice touches.

If I had to be really nit picky, then I would say that the shower was very small. It was hard to move around in it. It was very clean just tricky to move around in. If you're smaller then you'll have no issues. Make sure you understand the self check in process. There won't always be someone at the property to check you in. It's a self check in process that can be complicated if you don't read the instructions properly (we had no issues whatsoever). You have to take your luggage up a narrow set of stairs - just fyi.

Good choice of Breakfast on offer. Good quality coffee too. Very nice. Rooms are tasteful decorated and a great selection of Tea coffee waiting for you. little fruit bowl and chocolate brownie is an extra nice touch. bed super comfortable. ! Great location close to village centre lots of bars restaurants nearby.

It was sad that no food could be brought into the room. i fully understand why and the Owners did offer their Breakfast room for guests to eat in which had cutlery and condiments and everything one might need to eat a take away. It is sad because there have obviously been guests who have made a mess with food which has spoilt it for everyone else. Still it didn’t spoil my stay at all just an observation.

Our room was a decent size and included a small table and two soft chairs so you could actually sit down with a cup of tea. Room was a nice, comfortable temperature. Plenty of wardrobe / hanging space. Good hospitality tray (including earl grey tea) and access to fresh milk from the breakfast room. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Hotel quality towels - soft & fluffy. Private car park a short walk from the B&B which was easy to find / access. In the main, communication from the owners was very good particularly the emails / texts providing arrival information / instructions. Breakfast was pretty good quality, as was the service from the waiting staff.

Bed wasn’t very comfortable. I’m an ‘edge sleeper’ and I fell out of bed during the night because the mattress edge was too soft. 10.30am check-out is too early - felt very rushed particularly after a late night. On the evening of our arrival we received a text message at 6.15pm asking us what time we intended to arrive for breakfast the next day. Didn’t really like this and also didn’t like being told that breakfast service was 8am to 9.30am when the website and guest directory clearly states 8am to 10am.

Tina, the host, was always welcoming, in contact continually, and was personable at every opportunity. The information and continual contact made us feel valued as customers at all times. The rooms and all surroundings were tastefully decorated. Every need was catered for, with nothing too much effort from Tina. Excellent customer service from start to finish. Would definitely recommend and, if ever in the area again, would not hesitate to book again!

First of all you need to read your messages before you arrive as you need a key code for the car park and to get into the hotel as it is not manned. It’s not a problem at all and was very straightforward. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean and our room was fantastic. So much attention to detail was given including decaf teabags and face wipes in the bathroom were provided in the bathroom. A real home from home. The breakfast was varied and delicious. The staff members were accommodating and happy.

Bring earplugs as the hotel is located in the centre of Newtown and when the pubs and clubs kick out it’s very loud. This is no fault of the hotel owners and we slept soundly with earplugs.

We arrived from London after midnight but the owners had provided very detailed information about accessing both the nearby car park and the guest house. A few sets of stairs to navigate with luggage and dress bags but worth the wait - a lovely, cosy room with a super comfy bed, beautiful furniture and furnishings, a compact but perfectly functional bathroom with a mirror light, which is so important for women doing their make-up! We had to work for a few hours and wifi was very reliable and fast. Great breakfast with extra touches and a lovely host who personally chatted to her guests. Fantastic location if visiting Newtown and surrounds. It was lovely to stay here and also visit family in the cafe downstairs. Will stay again.

breakfast excellent, room very good- comfortable beds, excellent tea/coffee facilities , air conditioning machine provided & wall T.V.. Bathroom excellent ,good size ,well provided with toiletries and warm Air conditioner provided but window opens easily.

Parking arrangements need considerable improvement we couldn't unlock the post (lock is at ground level& wouldn't open) We were told there was a key pad for the car park as well but we couldn't find it. Other problem for us were the stairs. Also you need to make sure you can download email instructions for entry to the property as owner doesn't live there.

Excellent facilities, decor, furnishings were high end. Lots of little extra touches were apparent and welcome. The staff and owner were welcoming and pleasant . I cannot recommend this establishment highly enough.

The only issue for us was the amount of stairs, with health issues they were very challenging. But we do realise the design of the building dictates that it would be be impossible to make any improvements. And maybe we should have looked more closely at the accessibility. That was our responsibility rather than any fault of the owners.

Everything was very nice. We liked that there was self check-in, so we didn't have to worry about time of arrival. There was some noise coming from a club nearby, however it didn't bother us and there are earplugs im the room. Excellent breakfast.

The only comment is that we didn't know we could have cereals/croissant before the main breakfast. We didn't need it anyway, but we heard that they were offered to another group who arrived after us. Our ordes were taken by two different people, so I guess that was the difference.

The B&B was just really well done, nice room with comfy bed, clean, shower good, tv worked & really nice extra touches, good soap, little Brownie treat on check in, good selection of teas and real coffee bags. The staff at Breakfast (which was lovely) were friendly, engaging and attentive. Well done all at Parkers. Location - Great location in a really nice town in mid Wales, pubs, shops and eatery’s all on the doorstep. just fab.
