Beautiful location and surroundings complemented by a wonderful B&B with excellent hosts . Room was very large and immaculate and tastefully decorated . Every one of the 5 windows had picture perfect views that you couldn’t stop looking through at the amazing scenery beyond . The garden was a tranquil spot to watch all the wildlife that was encouraged to visit, topped off by 2 badgers in the evening who regularly turn up for their peanut super . Location a bit remote so opted for the grazing board for tea which was a superb collection of meats ,cheeses and pastries. Thanks for a wonderful stay .

The owners have down a fantastic job renovating this property and we really enjoyed our stay here at Ty Capel. The location is absolutely stunning being so close to and overlooking beautiful Llyn Clywedog. The setting is incredibly peaceful and you will very quickly become one with nature. However, you also have a small town just 10 mins away should you need anything. The facilities on site were very nice and clean and we certainly plan to come back. Superb breakfast’s served each morning in the conservatory was very pleasant start to each day and a nice way of catching up with your hosts and fellow guests.

Nothing, although when we come back we will book one of the larger rooms because The Chapel room is quite cosy.

Location was way into the countryside - delightful setting, very rural, lots of birdsong and owls nesting close by at this time of year. Lovely to see a badger in the garden at night as well. This lovely haven is set in the heart of countryside with nice hilly walks close by and a fabulous view over the reservoir below. Host also has a camera set up in the very pleasant guest lounge for watching wildlife and he was very nice. Breakfast in a nice sunny conservatory (great granary bread). Room and bathroom spotlessly clean.

Chapel Room had a boiler outlet right outside so couldn't keep the window open, not ideal for fresh air fiends but okay for one night. Breakfast was a little limited (no porridge or fresh fruit offered). We would not normally eat cooked breakfast but filled up on it, and it was very tasty.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you on April 7th - 9th. We loved the remote location but also the village is only 20 minutes away so we liked the convenience of that also. Our room we absolutely spotless and very cosy. We particularly enjoyed spending some time in the guest lounge and loved the idea of the outdoor cameras. We loved the decor and ambience of the room. We also enjoyed exploring around the garden, there’s lots to see. Our breakfast on both mornings were impeccable. We found both hosts to be friendly and helpful. We thought the room rate was very fair as the property has lots to offer and is done to the highest standards. The welcome book in the room is a very nice touch as it has a list of local places to eat as well as some recommendations for local walks. We can’t wait to return in the future as there are so many more walks we’d like to do and places to visit in Mid Wales and would not hesitate to look for anywhere else to stay. We would recommend visiting the Elan Valley in Rhayader, Hafren forest and The Clywedog reservoir which is located just behind the B&B.

Nothing, it was faultless.

The host and hostess were amazing; the property was well-cared for and the food exceptional. The views and the cameras which show the wildlife are extra touches you do not see everyday. I seemed to have booked the smallest room (the chapel room) by mistake... it was very, very small... that is the only downside. But I did not spend my time in the room; the sunroom was amazing, and the opportunities to hike and explore from there are wonderful for those that like to get out raw nature.

I should have booked one of the larger rooms. The room that faces the lake truly is like a honeymoon suite and I am considering bringing my husband back there for an anniversary. It could not be prettier. What I stayed in was more of the maid's quarters... very tight and small, but fine if you just need to take a shower and sleep in a good bed.

What an amazing bed and breakfast. The room was a good size with spectacular view and the bathroom was incredible. The hosts were very accommodating to us and our little boy and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was delicious and they were great with our little boy. It was great to wake up and see the wonderful scenery and see so much wildlife

We struggled to find a restaurant open after 5pm in the main town on a Tuesday. The hosts have some good recommendations but I think it was down to bad timing. There were a lot of take aways available and we managed to take that back to eat at the accommodation.

this is a magical gem. hard to decide what not to miss. the webcam following the Osprey’s nest, the view of the lake from all windows, the garden with its secret spaces, the sun setting behind the mountains, the delicious food, wonderful comfort and attention to every detail in the home itself. Every element just perfect, and no I hardly ever give reviews as good as this. Well done

nothing other than we couldn’t stay for longer, but we will definitely be back

Where to start? The location is stunning! Perfect for bikers like ourselves who loved the roads, beautiful views and close to a town too. The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating, and the B&B had everything you could ever want! There were even little personal touches everywhere which was lovely! The value for money is brilliant and we will definitely be booking again for next year!

Nothing! (I didn’t like the fact we chose only one night at this property) 😂

I was late arriving, but Jason was friendly and made me feel welcome. He showed me round and was informative but relaxed. Breakfast was fine. A nice choice of food and my dietary needs were well taken care of. (I was provided with soya milk and gluten free toast). Ty Capel is very comfortable and in a beautiful location. Beautiful countryside and walks from the B & B. It was a real bonus to see the 3 badgers on the webcam and be able to look outside to see them feeding. It was peaceful and I actually slept better than I do at home.

I found it a little warm in the breakfast room, but it was quite a humid day. I didn't like the fact that I had only booked for 1 night. (My fault!). Ty Capel was so nice I wanted to stay for longer!

The location, scenery, and the building itself were gorgeous. Good access to a variety of local sites. Amazing gardens. I really appreciated the bird feeders and the opportunity to watch badgers come up to the conservatory windows at night, lovely experience. The owners were friendly and very helpful but never overbearing. Clearly very environmentally conscious which was great to see. We enjoyed the lounge with the osprey camera & played a few games of dominoes :). Would happily come back!

The room was a little small, which is not a big deal but the bed could have been larger! My partner ordered relatively few breakfast items, it would have been nice if some of those were doubled up to compensate but we never thought to ask at the time. There was also a light on outside our bedroom window overnight; the blackout curtains dealt with it sufficiently for a good night's sleep but some light was seeping through and we would have preferred it if it hadn't! In case of a clear night the light would stop you from stargazing through the window which seems a shame in a place like this with overall little light pollution :)
