Crofton House Hotel

We enjoyed the SPA facilities (swimming pool, hot tub and sauna) and the garden. The room was essential but very clean with a comfy bed and a nice garden view. Ideal location just ten minutes from Torquay city centre.

Reception was mainly unattended and generally speaking not much inteaction with the staff; however the guy who showed us the room was super kind and friendly. Garden is very nice, but would need some extra care. Breakfast was only from 9 to 10 and had an extra charge so we decided not to take it.

Comfortable bed, clean hotel, friendly staff with a lovely view of the pool from room. Fluffy towels, free toiletries. Bathrobe hire £5 a stay. Nice to have two pools, hot tub etc. on site that are free for guests. Hotel is lovely and clean. No bar isn’t an issue, as you can BYOB. Free parking on road outside hotel. Tea/coffee/milk replenished daily. Free breakfast. Excellent value for money!

Not a dislike at all, just a heads up for future guests.. the ‘continental’ breakfast is actually simply cereal, toast, juice & fruit so don’t expect cold meat/cheese/croissants etc like overseas. However it is included in the price and the dining area is maintained very regularly and is super clean, so no complaints!

When we arrived we asked for an upgrade, but as there was a fault with the room they even upgraded us more so they gave us a very nice suite. First morning we decided to use the facilities, the sauna and wet room and hot tub, all pretty new and clean, and we went to the outside pool. As weather was glorious we asked about using the outside BBQ and they let us, they gave us plates and cutlery and even brought an umbrella while we were preparing the food, staff made us feel at home and they all were very helpful so we end up spending two days by the pool. All throughout everyone was very helpful.

There was nothing we didn't like, it more that some bits are missing, like a few bins around where to put you bits of rubbish in.

I loved the accommodation it was a fantastic stay. The management that took over this hotel were fantastic they offered me and my friend to come to their hotel to have a proper cooked breakfast as there was a problem at this hotel with the the continental breakfast. The management from the Tor Park Hotel is now managing this hotel and I thank them for their hard work and for their support while we were there. I love the jacuzzi and the swimming pool and the sauna as it was a relaxing stay for me and my friend. I work in hospitality and I know how hard it is to manage especially two hotels good luck to you all and we will definitely be coming back

This hotel exceeded my expectation. It was spotlessly clean throughout. Every staff member I encountered was polite and very helpful. I did not expect any breakfast but there was self service cereals toast, fruit, yohurt, tea etc. Great lounge, good feel about the place. The pool is fabulous and also the hot tub, sauna. Great facilities for the price and free parking. I had a room which was described as 'very small', it was small but by no means very small.

The ceilings are high and the lighting was not adequate for reading, needs a side light of some kind. The building obviously needs updating. The furniture needed a bit more thought. A little table and chair for my laptop would have been nice. Also some more hooks for clothes hanging.

I think the hotel is under new ownership so staff were busy making improvements every day.i enjoyed the location,just a shortvwalk to town,seafront and bus routes..i enjoyed swimming in the outdoor pool in the garden..staff friendly and helpful. I booked a small room and that is what i got so cant complain! Nice clean ensuite bathroom.

I was not sure what to expect as booked it purely for the pools sake so my little girl got something to do but after reading the reviews was really worried. I was pleasantly surprised when on arrival I was greeted by a young man & shown to our room, he even carried our heavy bag all the way. The room that we ended up staying was absolutely gorgeous with beautiful view looking at the seaside & pool, it had everything and more we could wish for. It’s a beautiful property with a lovely feel to it & great facilities on the site. The pool temperature inside was really warm and outside refreshing but nice on a warm day. The garden is beautiful & what’s important the maintenance men, gardeners & other stuff are always busy working hard and trying to sort it out the things, which gives an impression of care despite the fact that the property does require some TLC but if you can close your eyes on these things you can have a really great time. Our bed was super comfortable & the bedding & towels are so clean & fresh. We’ve had a fantastic time and would like to thank the staff who made our stay really enjoyable! Definitely will be back for sure!

It’s a gorgeous property but does require a bit of TLC.

Was great. We were there for a bit of a celebration in town - so we were a bit lively but tried to keep the noise down (sorry about that). In fact one of the group said the only thing they heard was the doors slamming, and wasn't just our group doing this. In fact it's the only criticism I have, if you didn't/don't make sure you guide the door closed and forgot and let it close on it's own, it made quite a bang. But I suppose that's quite common with fire doors. But apart from that, nice place and friendly staff, especially the guy booking us in - it was his first ever shift.

As I said above - the slamming doors, but if one is mindful of this once they realise after it happens the first time, then it shouldn't be a problem, but to be fair I know I forgot about half a dozen times.

The host was amazing he made are stay so easy and couldn't so enough for us and very friendly we are already saving to go again next month we loved it that it had two pools in and outside hot tub was lovely sauna and steam room we cud used all Weekend we had the best time and met some lovely people during are stay room was clean tidy bathroom. Was clean fresh towels tea milk sugar and coffee abd kettle in room so that was a nice touch and a contentail breakfast every morning cereal toast tea coffee which was nice too can't wait to go back and just chill

Only let down was no food or bar but it didn't effect are stay as it got us out and we ate in some lovely bars and restaurants down by sea front
