TLH Carlton Hotel and Spa - TLH Leisure and Entertainment Resort

the room size was good, restaurant was good and entertainment excellent

too many steps for an older person, the towels in the bathroom room need to be bigger, I.e. bath sheets not small bath towels. I specifically asked for a walk in shower as my partner is 91 and can get into a bath so was unable to use it. Toiletries in bathroom could be better, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.

We loved the entertainment and some of the facilities,pool,steam room and sauna was brilliant and plenty for the kid's to do.

Didn't like the fact we had to pay £15 for a game of bowling and the lanes wasn't even level big let down,the mattress was very uncomfortable just like it was in the Derwent.

Fantastic facilities, especially the swimming pool and arcade facilities. Great location and good access to seafront and town centre. Friendly restaurant manager and restaurant supervisor

Cleaner left our door open after cleaning and we came back after a full day out to discover this. Restaurant staff were rushed off their feet and were clearly trying hard but many things were not refilled regularly such as fruit juice and hot food. There was a stale smoke smell in our room which stayed for the duration of our stay. The room was not as big as previous years in the Toorak. The kids beds were very uncomfortable.

The hotel was in a nice locaction we had a very nice room. All the staff we encountered were very polite, friendly and very helpful. All areas were clean and rooms were well maintained. Food was good and good value for money.

Some areas of the hotel were a bit old fashioned and tired and in need of decorating and updating. Some of the seats in the dining room were old and saggy and not comfortable to sit on. There also seemed to be a problem with the lift not working. We were OK as our room was on the 1stfloor and we were mobile. Not so for some others. Despite the weather being very warm during our stay the outdoor pool was locked up and no access to the sun loungers that surrounded it and we were told it was closed for the end of the season and no lifeguard was available ! It said the outdoor pool was heated on the information but it seems it wasn't heated or open. No mention of season end dates ?? Very disappointing as this was one of the appeals for us.

The breakfast and evening meal was very excellent in the restaurant. The chef was brilliant at catering for my daughter who is a celiac (gluten free) The menu had a great range of meals every night, roast beef, fish dishes, pasta all served and prepared with fresh vegetables and staff that couldn't do enough to help. Excellent service, A BIG thankyou to the chef. x We loved the indoor pool and the kids loved the outdoor pool too, despite it being really cold.

The beds!! So uncomfortable. the sofa bed was like sleeping on a railway track, you could feel the springs, lumps and bumps. The double bed was slightly better but not much. None of us slept well, we left a night early because we wanted out children to have a good nights sleep at home before they started school on the Monday. We should of left on the Sunday morning but left after dinner on Saturday. We stayed on the second floor which was too warm, the rooms lacked ventilation and with a family of four in them, nights were uncomfortable. It was the low point of our holiday.

It was everything you would want from a holiday abroad, just in the UK! We really had a great time and the kids loved the indoor and outdoor pools and playing football in the evenings. We felt we had value for money with everything on offer and although we didn’t choose to access all the entertainment, the animal handling was excellent and we couldn’t believe such great quality activities were included at no extra cost.

We ate in the restaurant by the pool a lot and could have done with some healthier options, especially for the kids. By the end of the week even they were a bit done with chips! We were in an apartment and the sofa bed me and my husband shared was pretty uncomfortable, didn’t sleep a whole night through even once! Also experienced a lot of noise from creaky floors above which wasn’t really anyones fault but did wake us up.

The Lady in the bar in the evening was lovely( sorry we didn't catch her name(lovely customer service skills).

Breakfast was ok .I appreciate it was busy.( supervisor was ok on Thursday morning) But virtually told me it was self service whilst walking away from us. waitresses were very good. sorry putting it here as no space evening entertainment including the animals was really good and enjoyed by us all.The 90's rewind kept our tired out 7 year glued to them so the team deserve recognition of a job well done

Breakfasts were excellent and set us up for the day. Facilities at the Aztec were also excellent as was the outdoor pool which was supervised up until about 8 oclock at night. All outdoor facilities enjoyed to the max all enhanced by the marvelous weather this week. Great rock and roll show by staff on Wednesday night.

Children should have been packed off the dance floor at nine thirty in the evening but were still running around at eleven at night but they were stars of attraction by the "party maker" on Thursday night entertainment. The hotel is a rambling old building and although clean and tidy it has narrow stairways and very poor lift accommodation. I bumped my head on a low ceiling near head of staircase.

nice room, and great cleaning service. the hotel very clean and well located near the beach and 10 minutes from the station. we will definitely be back with the hope of finding a different weather.

since we found some bad days, the pools were too crowded. sorry the bistro closed at 10pm. and I would have liked to find a little more vegetarian choice or something sweet like biscuits or cakes for breakfast.

The apartment was good size, very outdated but had everything we needed. We enjoyed the indoor pools , just be warned the bigger pool is not heated , the Aztec restaurant was nice and the games room was good and they even have a small play area and bowling.

I didn't like that wasn't given much information about the entertainment going on in the hotel , we had to found out by ourselves by walking and wondering around the halls which there were many as its 4 hotels connected and all facilities could be used by everyone. Also the TLC hotel management could do by upgrading to smarts tv to connect Netflix and YouTube. And the check out in the booking said 11am but then there was a note in the room to vacate the room by 10am which was very early.
