Shoreham Hotel

The Shoreham was quite perfect for us. It would be a total 10 if the lobby was more comfortable and if the bar/restaurant downstairs was open. That meant there was no coffee at all except Dunkin Donuts down the street. And no real place to hang or meet people. Location absolutely excellent and staff very sweet. The room was aging and small, but comfortable. Maid service, which we were not expecting, was excellent. Not noisy like some have said, and our room was on the street.

The hotel was perfect for a city break for me and my two kids (aged 15 and 10) The room was perfect with a nice little balcony which was a real plus point, could sit out in the morning and listen to the city. The location is ideal too. easy walking distance to Central Park and only a few minutes down to Times Square, also close to the metro station for getting further afield. Even at night the local area and indeed the whole city felt very safe, even with the kids.

Only small gripe was that we could not get TV to connect to netflix but this just meant we got to experience TV the way Americans do which is basically advertisements. We had free wi-fi in room so really wasnt an issue

The location is perfect! The room itself is clean, the bed is comfortable and there is little to no noise from the outside (we even had a street-facing room). The staff are helpful and welcoming. Overall, the room and hotel both felt safe which is the most important thing

The hotel has a bar but it doesn't have a license to serve alcohol which is a bit of a nuisance. The shower temperature is fine, it can be adjusted easily enough but the shower head could do with a clean, there are some holes of the nozzle blocked. Overall, it was okay in our room but the party we travelled with had another room on the same floor and they noted that they had a lot more holes of the shower head blocked and that the shower pressure was so intense that it was uncomfortable. The bathroom itself was clean so no issues with that, but the showers could do with some lime scale removal

The property was in an ideal location, central and close to all that we wanted to see and do. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. There is no food on-site but they have a small shop selling coffee and snacks, and there are plenty of food establishments very close, so that was not a problem for us. We did have an issue with our room, but after speaking to the desk we were upgraded without any hassle. Would not hesitate to go back again.

The only thing would be that it would be good if breakfast was served in the hotel, but as I said it is not a problem and would not stop us from staying again.

Stayed at Shoreham for our first trip to NYC, for the price that we paid for the hotel we could not recommend it enough. We made a request for a mini fridge in advance and it was brought to our room on arrival, and from then we received nothing but impeccable service from everyone. The housekeeping staff and all reception staff were all very friendly. The room we got was the upgraded one with booking.com and it seemed massive for NYC, we had a separate living space which was great for all the luggage and shopping. Location wise, it was perfect. Right off 5th avenue and only about 10/15mins away from Times Square, which we were very glad to not be in the centre of all the tourist hustle.

Not a complaint, but just to set people’s expectations it’s not your average looking hotel when you walk in. But you don’t got to NYC for the hotel room!

It was everything we were looking for: good bed, great shower, helpful staff, and quiet room (requested away from street and elevator). We didn’t want to pay extra for a bunch of frills we weren’t going to use. The location was exactly what we were looking for: near metro stations for quick routes, and decent restaurants for dinner (Red Peony), and a bakery for to-go breakfasts, without being right in the middle of over-crowded Tourist Square. It’s a short walk away from 5th avenue, Central Park, or Radio City signs. The close proximity to the F line was particularly helpful- we used that station almost everyday to get to destinations all over the city.

The fabric upholstery could use an update, but that minor shabby detail wasn’t a deal-breaker for us.

Outstanding Friendly, supportive & professional staff. Helpful suggestions for restaurants,nail spa, shoe repair & trying to arrange for car. After much insistence both on arrival & the next day, was unhappy Wi-Fi not accessible. Much thanks Anthony for your techie knowledge in knowing to provide me with a different Wi-Fi password allowing immediate access. Good location,off the main touristy noisy streets with only 8 floors, never felt overwhelmed with people. Easy walking distance to sites, variety of restaurants, grocery store-a little pricey & fresh fruit street vendor. Although comfy room was small, good amenities with a bright window & safe.Appreciated daily diligent cleaning of room.

Room a little too small to adequately do pilates on a worn not so clean rug. No cafe for breakfast, although could purchase good coffee & packaged pastries, not healthy. Glad kiosk next door to buy bottled water.

The location is brilliant. Walking distance to Times Square, Broadway, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Centre and Central Park. Everything was clean, the staff were helpful and they arranged an airport taxi for us which was cheaper than other quotes. Fantastic shower. Good value.

The mattress was not very comfortable. My daughter slept on the sofa bed and that was really hard and uncomfortable. No external views from room. Towels small. Very noisy air conditioning.

The location is incredible, right next to the 5th avenue. The room is really spacious, as the bed is too. The cleaning staffs are very nice! good price for the location and the room size comparing to the rest of NY during the summer season.

The rooms and the hotel facilities are old and need some renovation. The staff at the front desk are just doing their job, meaning they don’t smile or say hi every morning/night but if you ask them something they are not impolite or anything, they just do their job.
