Hyatt House New York/Chelsea

Location, location

Dymin, one the front desk managed to spoil the arrival and departure with her unfriendliness and rudeness. Never ever in my life have I experienced such unprofessional behavior. Even some workers she left inside the building were shaking their heads and rolling their eyes in disbelief. I get that this is a budget hotel, but being friendly and welcoming does not cost a thing.

Breakfast was good. Hours could have been later since most guests were on holiday. Open till 9:30 or 10am instead of just 9am

Travel was for both pleasure and work. Pleasure, because I had designed a congratulations on Retirement for my husband and for work. I'm an artist and Puppeteer and was in New York during the Pinocchio Exhibit at MOMA. I went to see it and then finished with a dinner meeting with one of my producers. The hotel was right in the middle of everything and the perfect place if you wish to walk to most of our destinations. Everything is close by and the staff was a major plus. I injured my foot while walking and hadj to us UBER for the first time...the Staff helped me to get that all taken care of so that I could order a ride. Very nice.

the room was REALLY small. I mean small. you could barely get around the bed. We weren't in the room that much so it really didn't matter too much. However, if I was going to spend more time in our room I would consider a larger one next time. The rest was just fine. It had a fridge and coffee maker and was really high. I LOVE to stay on the high floors like 25,26 etc.

Room Breakfast Location Staff

The staff at Hyatt House Hotel Chelsea were all wonderful, and would go out of their way to help you. The Hotel is located close to transport routes and within walking distance of all essential shops and sites. I was able to walk to Penn Station a few blocks away, and key subway routes are nearby. The Room was very clean and comfortable. The Breakfast room and options was amazing. You could have a hearty and healthy meal to start the day.

There is a self-serve laundry in the cellar level, but it has no chairs so I had to sit on the floor.

The location is excellent! We paid extra for the accessible penthouse room with a separate sitting area-It was spacious and pleasant and the view was superb (I don't know what the regular rooms are like). The kitchenette was great! Clean and well stocked with everything necessary. The staff were helpful and very friendly. The breakfast provided was very basic but satisfactory. Lovely roof deck with bar stools. In general, a clean and pleasant apartment hotel, suitable for a longer stay.

The elevator was very slow in the peak hours so you need to have patience. On a couple of occasions the cleaner didn't clear all the tables and surfaces, but in general, the room was clean. There's no lobby if you want a public place to sit and relax. A bit expensive.

Clean, crisp, modern rooms. Lovely corner window with amazing views down 6th Ave and of Empire State Building. Rooftop terrace and workout room were wonderful. Laundry in the basement and snack stand in the lobby, very convenient. Front desk very quick to respond to requests. Overall an excellent experience.

“Queen” beds seemed more like full size but I didn’t have a measuring tape, so couldn’t prove it. Also housekeeping was often slow to make their way to our room, and some of the housekeeping staff was a bit unprofessional. Breakfast was so-so, scrambled eggs not very good. Nothing terrible though.

The room was a good size for New York and having two beds and a kitchenette. Kitchenette was stocked with utensils, plates, appropriate cookware and had ample dishwasher packs. Elevators were quick. Breakfast was standard but well prepared and plentiful. Location is easy to access for subway and walking, located on a street with floral stores so smells good in the morning when walking by.

Location is at the end of the street and with the floral shops it can get crowded when deliveries are being made. Good for taxi's and Ubers to find you for drop off. Mildly annoying when waiting for a pick up. But fairly standard for New York City.

The location was great. In the middle of everything. Being on the higher floor with great views of the Empire State Building was also a bonus. The rooms were spacious. Lovely bathroom with a great shower.

My daughter was sleeping on the sofa bed which was not very comfortable. On the first day we asked if we could get a mattress topper, this was not resolved for a couple of days. Also the side lamp in the bedroom didn't work properly. The attachment from the wall was loose. We did inform Reception who said they were going to repair it, but it was not done. I think that it would be helpful for Reception staff to have a log book to write all requests so the next person on duty would be able to act on the requests.

As soon as we walked to the hotel it was clean and nice. They had our room ready by 1pm and they let us check in asap. Room had an amazing view from the city. Very comfortable room size. Beds and sheets were cleaned and comfy. Bathroom was very clean and spacious and it had a heater inside. Very close to subway, places to eat, delis, cafe, and bars. Next door was a really nice speakeasy. Breakfast and service from the lovely workers was very nice. Wide variety of food. Lastly, they have a rooftop setting which had an amazing view of the city and empire state. Very nice to take pics. I will definetely go back and stay at that exact hyatt house
