Hotel Hayden New York

Location in Midtown, and between 2 Subway lines meant for very easy access to everything we wanted to see in Manhattan. Breakfast was 'continental' and we took it on the go with takeaway coffee/pastry/fruit which was great considering the expense of things in NY right now. Rooms were comfy, AC worked, Shower had decent water pressure and fan so room didn't get damp from condensation. As we just used as a base for sightseeing, we can't complain.

I didn't know I'd have $75 for each day i stayed taked from my bank account to cover 'costs' which was ridiculous. There was no mini bar in the room, and not knowing till I got to the hotel meant I forked out hundreds of dollars to them and it took weeks to get the money back. Not cool and in this day an age, completely unecessary. I've never had a hotel do anything like this in all my time travelling.

I had a great stay until i was checking out and I was charged twice by the stuff stating I didn’t pay for my room when I paid booking for the property and they took it on themselves to charge me saying I didn’t pay even when I show the the receipt from booking didn’t care… stating i have with booking but when I check inn the lady only asked incidentals and the two at check out made it that there charging it and if everything check out I’ll get my money back in 7-10 business l was like really I wasn’t happy and I wasn’t goin to go back and fore ..

The Room was good enough for two, great washroom and excellent location in the heart of Manhattan. Staff was friendly, they even helped us getting a shuttle to go to La Guardia when we left. Lots of restaurants around, Red and Yellow subway lines just a block from the hotel's door. Would strongly recommend it.

Only one thing I did not like, the bed had a metal bar sticking out of the bed frame. There was not much space in the aisle because of that piece of metal and we hit our shins a few times. My wife almost had a serious injury because that was hidden and easy to forget, something to be aware of. It is a small detail that can cause something serious, but nothing else to complain about this hotel. Pretty good overall.

We gonna appreciate the place, the bedroom & the breakfast were very nice.

But at the end we get a conversation we the little skinny guy at the parking Icon at 10am in a morning. It was the worst !! He told me « La puta de la madre », because I ask him for the timing. I get my car 45 minutes after everyone (Because mine is not too big for him ?). He was so terrible. I payed already 200$ for this parking, I am very very disgusted. I don’t know where it’s possible to ask a manager for a refund… It’s not possible to talk like this about the guest.

Midtown of Manhattan, center of New York so very easy to get to either downtown (one world trade building, Wall Street, china town) or uptown (Empire State building, Times Square, Central Park). And of course subways or restaurants are at every corner. Very nice and friendly staff. The street is full of flowers and plants business so it is very clean and fresh. It is really the highlight of this hotel. Parking for free (not at the same street) but the hotel will cover it. Quiet compare with the other surrounding streets.

Breakfast is not that I’m expected, especially as a 4 stars hotel. But maybe it is the standard in the us!

- Fantastic location to Madison Square Garden/Penn Station - Walgreens on the corner if you need anything you might've forgotten - 28th Street subway stop is right there, so you can travel from the airport to the hotel. - Outdoor seating at the entrance of the hotel is a nice touch - You have to use your room key to activate the elevator; I like that level of security. - Stayed in an ADA room, great space for wheelchairs - The room was clean, and decor was lovely with great amenities in the bathroom - Water pressure was great; wished the water temp got hotter, but it was enough to steam the mirror. - The room does not have carpet, so it is great for people with allergies. It is also easier for the hotel to clean the room better

- Room temp will not go below 68 degrees on purpose. Was not great for my hot flashes. - Only one front desk person to check people in, when management just stood around and didn't help. - Parts of hotel currently under construction/renovation, so could not get access to all amenities the hotel would normally offer

I really liked the staff and the room. We had 4 people staying with us and we had enough space. We did not feel too cramped.

The breakfast was kind of a joke. I mean, the coffee was an issue - having to wait so long. I would suggest another way to make coffee more readily available.

The attention received by the reception team and the willingness and availability to help and deliver a differentiated service from Dario, nice person.

A little problem the first day with the Air conditioner that didn’t work.
