The location is perfect! You are in the centre of Manhattan, just 5 mins walking from Penn Station and 20 mins walking from Times Square. The area around the hotel is nice and is full of flower shops, so it's safe to stay there. The only sketchy place is just on the corner next to the subway station but you can handle it. The rooms are huge and well-equipped. When we read all the other reviews, we were scared of the elevator that is so slow, but that's not true. Elevators are great and fast, just you need to understand the mechanism of that elevator: even if you go up/down, you press both and enter elevator and then later you choose where you want to go. Dont wait elevator in only one direction, because if elevator is full, doesn't open until floors wished from people inside of elevator.

We didnt like the breakfast part: not good food and they have certain amount of every item, so if you are late: you will not find it: Meaning, if breakfast starts at 6:30, be there at 6:30, not at 8:00, because you will find only coffee or tea and some items. Also, we really didn't like the fact that the cleaning persons were opening our closed baggage, that was really bad feeling to have as you know how you left your baggage. Good thing is that we stored all of the important things in safe box, so store it in safe box or don't ask for cleaning

Staff was very nice and accommodating. Location. New and Clean. Comfortable well equipped new clean kitchenette, including micro and dishwasher. I never thought I’d use kitchen in a small NY hotel. But its actually comfortable for breakfast and warm up restaurant left-overs.

Rooms are fairly small (NY style). The only very annoying thing in the hotel is the elevators - 4 elevators for 44 floors, about 10 rooms per floor. We stayed for 9 nights. During our stay, never were there 4 elevators in function. 1-3 elevators were always out of order. Min. 20 min wait. We used the stairs alot (14th floor).

We booked this hotel firstly for its value and location(first time visiting New York and just before Christmas). As soon as we arrived, we were impressed by the reception and staff. We were greeted without queue and each of us was given a bottle of water to rest and hydrate after our journey. The staff member checked us in very quickly and when we asked for a higher floor, they kindly gave us the room on the 21st floor(the highest is 22, 23-40 is another hotel), although we booked a different type of room. Everything was sparkling clean, everything was managed very well, the housekeeping ladies were spectacular. Towels were changed daily, bed sheets were changed at our request. Elevators were fast and roomy. Breakfast had good variety(if you eat everything), you could barely try everything in 7 days, but as were staying longer(almost 3 weeks), it became a little bit boring after 10 days - only 3 hot dishes, eggs and 2 types of meaty things. But it was ok for us and kept us full till the lunch. The metro station is right around the block and it takes you everywhere - both downtown and uptown; a short walk to Times square and very many eateries right next to the hotel. Neighborhood feels very safe for late walks due to great amount of tourists, even for a young girl alone. During checkout it became clear that the reception lady mixed up a bit on the checkin day and more money was drawn from our account than was expected, but it was professionally handled before we checked out. We enjoyed our trip very much and will return to this hotel again for sure. Management, thank you very much for your great work!

The room was too small: we had 4 luggages, 2 big and 2 small, and there was no place to place our feet when 2 of them were open on the floor. It was a little bit uncomfortable at first(as there was no big closet to store the bags), but we got used to it, as we spent only two hours in the morning and in the evening at the hotel. If you go out a lot it's a great place for value. Alarm in the rooms went out a couple of times, it was so loud it freaked us out, and both times it was a false alarm which was announced 2 minutes after constant siren. But I guess it's common in the hotel rooms with kitchenette, when people cook something and smoke alarms go off.

The hotel is great, beyond what I was expecting after having read some of the reviews. I say this is a true 4 stars hotel and you really get what you pay for. Staff is the highlight of the hotel, very friendly and everyone provides outstanding customer service. Property is brand new and the facilities are in great shape, with a very decent fitness room. Room is very confy and size is ok, not much big, as expected from any Manhattan hotel. I recommend for single travelers or couples only - bathroom has a sliding door that doesn't close fully and there can be a privacy issue. Breakfast was very decent, but can be a little crowded. I had Breakfast at different times each of the 5 days I stayed and the busy hours are from 7 to 9, even though the hotel has two areas in different floors serving the same items. I did not find issues with the elevators as other travelers have mentioned. Yes, they can take a while during busy hours early in the morning, but the wait was no longer than 5 minutes. The location is perfect, close to the city major attractions, in a nice neighborhood, with a subway station just outside the hotel, lot of shops and restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely stay again and recommend the hotel.

Cleaning could be a little more thorough. I also found the room a bit dark, more lighting would be helpful. Breakfast has a decent variery of items, but I missed some of the basics, such as peanut butter, waffles and pancakes.

Great location for exploring all of Manhatten. Close to subway stations and within walking distance of lots of sites. Our room with a kitchenette was compact, but adequate. This is central New York. All the room amenities we required. The local street has lots of wholesale flower and indoor plant shops, makes walking along it very pleasant.

The vast quantity of single use plastic waste. Included breakfast each day was good, but all disposable cutlery, plates, cups, many of the food options came in excessive plastic packaging. Nothing appeared to be recycled. We took the crockery from our room down to breakfast each day. Amazed not to see others doing the same. A few hooks on the wall in the rooms would be really useful. As others have said the lift can be slow between about 8:00 and 9:30 other times it is fine.

As a solo female traveller, I felt really safe in this property. The staff were incredibly friendly and any query was acted upon straight away. Location was perfect and didn’t feel isolated, right next to the subway and an central spot to get anywhere. The kitchenette room meant that I could eat-in during my three week stay and it was modern with all the facilities you’d need. The bed, TV, shower and wifi were all bigger and better than you’d expect for a NY room, too - and the room was cleaned to a spotless standard everyday. For such a long stay, I felt the size of the room was great, despite the fairly small amount of storage which is common in every NY hotel. I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough, for the facilities, staff, rooms, location and safety combined.

The location was excellent. Easy walk to most things we needed . Subway was very close also . We stayed for 6 nights

The breakfast facility was way over crowded and small for the size and amount of guests . I only attempted to get breakfast on one occasion. However the selection seemed good . Hot and cold choices , cereal , fruit , yogurt, toast , muffins . Among other things . I paid for breakfast that I did not want to line up and wait to get . I think an accommodation price without breakfast should be an option. It will also take pressure off the over crowded breakfast nook . Also another option should be for the guests with kitchenette, a breakfast parcel ordered the night before and delivered to guest room .

Great location. Practical check in and check out. Nice and comfortable room. Good breakfast. Hotel is big but doesn't feel crowded.

There's no reason for the cuttlery to be all single use. It made me feel bad for all the waste I was producing on the days I spent there. Would be great if the hotel could change their systems to stop using single use cuttlery, plates and cups, etc. The room is missing some hooks on the walls to hang coats, etc. Easy change that would make the room more practical.

Small but designed perfectly for a few days in town. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom new and spotless. The kitchenette was small but had everything needed: two cooker rings, microwave, pots and pans, plates, glasses and a little fridge that was more than enough. They even provided salt and pepper and coffee /tea/ sugar/cream. I had read in the reviews the problems with the lifts in the mornings and with breakfast but they have sorted it now. Breakfast is varied (boiled and scrambled eggs, sausages/bacon, different types of porridge and cereals with a choice of toppings, fruit, bagels, muffins, yoghurts, cream cheese, butter, jam, honey, sauces, etc including gluten free options. And they keep replenishing it. There are two areas for breakfast that are fairly full but we never had to wait to find a table. As for the lifts, the 4 of them worked well and the waiting was reasonable. The location is fabulous: 5 minutes on foot from Penn station, Madison sq, between 6th and 7th avenue. Great to explore Manhattan.

It was expensive but in line with other prices in Manhattan. It did not have space to leave the suitcases open or a proper wardrobe.
