Ace Hotel New York

The room had everything needed for a short stay, including radio in room tuned to local talk station. Well located and constructed building with a great bar area downstairs. Very nice staff.

The bathroom was almost too small to use, causing me to sometimes hit up against the tub while using the facilities. Doubt there is anything they can do about that given age and configuration of the building. Mini bar fridge was stocked in such a way as to make keeping a bottle of water hard to fit. There should be some space to fit a small personal bottle of drink or food item.

I’ve stayed at the ace before and always love it! It’s chic and eclectic my only complaint is the shower in the room I had. It was only covered by a shower curtain and water was everywhere. Staff did accommodate me as best as possible

Location was excellent and the room had a spectacular view of the Empire State Building. Bed was super comfortable and being on the 7th floor was fairly quiet (I enjoy a little bit of street noise to sleep!). There was a really well stocked mini fridge and snacks (which you'll be charged for after if you consume), plus there is the option for room service from their lovely bar/restaurant. Also the front desk was very helpful in calling a taxi for me to the airport very early in the morning, and staff overall incredibly friendly.

The customer service at the Ace Hotel New York was excellent. They went above and beyond and replied to my questions thoroughly and promptly.

The rooms are quite dark despite having all the lights on. I had read about this in previous guest reviews but decided that the location was more important than the lighting. I would have preferred the option to have a well lit room is it times, it was difficult to see what was in our suitcases. We also found that many of the power points in the room were loose and quite often the cord would fall out of the power points. The bathroom was also very small but on the flipside you get quite a big bedroom space by New York standards.

Staff were friendly and the room was really nice and cosy. Having stayed at the Portland Ace hotel, the Ace in NYC did not disappoint.

The shower set up in our room meant it was impossible to shower without fighting with a very touch-feely shower curtain. This, coupled with the high water pressure meant that a shower was a bit like a waterboarding experience. It definitely woke you up! Another issue is that there is constant loud noise from the street- but this is New York I guess. If the hotel could install triple glazing that might make a difference- but that might ruin the aesthetics of the building.

While the vibe of the hotel is eclectic, it is rather dark and while that is the vibe it isn't always a good experience for quest. I might suggest additional lighting not with just the edison bulbs. Also, the beds, they were quite hard and the pillows as well. Now on the plus side, the towels and bedding were so nice and the little details of having a record player in the room along with a radio made it seem home like. And the fridge, great piece. I love the bar and the drinks were AMAZING. It would be great to just lighten up the overall vibe....

See above but essentially, the hotel is dark and after a while and when we journeyed around NYC it would have been nice to have a lighter and brighter place to lay my head at night.

Loved the location — central midtown, has a bagel shop / coffee shop / juice bar all basically onsite. Could not be more central. Lobby was just a cool place to chill. Beds were comfy. Great Korean restaurants nearby too. Staff (especially cleaning staff!) were just lovely.

The bathrooms are starting to feel a bit dated — in one room we had no hot water and the toilet flooded (disaster!) and in the other the shower head wasn’t attached and was prone to swinging around. (When our room flooded we were moved, but sadly to a room with just one bed for two of us when we’d l booked a room with two beds — so that wasn’t great. We were given a slight discount but it didn’t really fix the problem.)

We loved our stay! Waking up with a view on the Empire State Building. Near the subway and on walking distance of many attractions. Very laidback vibe, nice clean room with bathroom. Everyone was super friendly. Nice bar area. Our kids loved, loved the guitar in the room.

There was a bit of noice. The traffic noise is just part of NYC and didn't bother. But it's there. But what I didn't really like was that we could hear our neighbors on one side. The other side had the bathroom, so no trouble there. That would be the only thing I dindn't really like.

The location is very convenient. 3 mins to the train station and very close to K-Town for late night food. The hotel has this hipster and cool vibe. First floor is coffee shop during day time and a bar in the evening. When we come back to hotel in the evening, it's quite interesting to have this good music surrounding. The room is very cozy and there's empire state building right at our window and a decent brick building right across. excellent view and easy access to everywhere. Staff are helpful and chill. The shops at the hotel are also quite popular ie the coffee and cake store. Very New Yorker conceptual shops and we even get discount for our stay.

there's no coffee pack in the room and no free bottle watter.
