Moderne Hotel

the location is amazing for food, shopping and theater

our room was very warm. we couldn’t get the temp to go down. was actually able to open a window to find it wasn’t locked and didn’t have a lock. there was a fire escape running right past the window. When I told the front desk, I was told it didn’t really matter since our room didn’t face a street. I insisted it be fixed and the air to be fixed as well. upside. when we came back from dinner it was fixed and the window was locked. Also , small thing … but The description of the room said it had a full body mirror in it. To me that includes your legs and feet not just from the hips up. women want and need a full size mirror

Easy to locate- FANTASTIC location (10 minute walk to Times Square) Gorgeous modern lobby. All staff members were lovely & beyond helpful, no request was too much. They always greeted me with a smile & polite conversation. The daily housekeeping was great too, especially as I detest making my bed when on vacation. The hotel itself felt really safe too especially as a solo female traveler.

If I had to pick anything I would say having a coffee/ tea machine in the room would have been nice additional touch. Also the carpet in the rooms themselves could do with a deep clean but honestly aside from that I can’t fault the hotel whatsoever.

The location was outstanding! We could walk to all of the Broadway shows and to the Columbus Circle train station. There were a lot of food choices available, including the "Soup Nazi" from Seinfeld--soup and lobster rolls to die for! The staff was very friendly and and helpful. The door is always monitored, which made us feel secure...Thanks, Jerry! There is a lounge on the second floor which was a nice place to meet up with the other people we were traveling with. The bed was very comfortable--appreciated since we walked 18,000+ steps every day.

It would have been nice to have a small coffee pot in the room.

Perfect location, friendly and helpful staff, fantastic service. Hotel and room were clean, comfortable and well maintained. Housekeeping gave extra water bottles and towels daily in the hot weather which was very much appreciated. Excellent value for money. Room was large with lovely shower room. Bed was very comfortable and large. Very glad to have air conditioning and a refrigerator. The staff made us feel very welcome and made our trip even more amazing. Lovely to support a small independent hotel. Will definitely recommend and return for the next trip 😊

Nothing other than having to leave the hotel and NYC 😔

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The location was fantastic, being close to Central Park and Times Square made exploring the city so convenient. The room was excellent, and I was pleasantly surprised by the strong and reliable wifi coverage. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's rest after a day of sightseeing. The service provided by the staff was top-notch, they were always attentive and helpful. Moreover, I appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which allowed me to relax and unwind. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area.

Slow elevator..

We have stayed here before. The location is very good. Very close to Central Park. Lots of restaurants and bars. Beds are great. Staff is very nice and accommodating. The 2nd floor lounge is great. Plenty of seating and coffee all day. And the view of the street is great for people watching down below.

The hotel seems to need a bit of a touch-up. The wallpaper is coming loose. Lobby is rather dark. It's little things that can make somewhere go from good to great. In our room, the shower splashed onto the bathroom floor every time we used it. Leaving us to use our towels to mop up the floor each time. Also, their signage outside needs to be replaced. It's faded and hard to see amongst everything else, vying for your attention. It's very easy to miss the entrance since it's just a small set of stairs. And very unattractive. It's not an entrance that makes you stop and say, "I'd like to stay there!"

Moderne hotel has surprisingly spacious rooms given the exceptional location. The quirky decor in the hallways makes it feel like a boutique hotel, not just any other chain hotel. The host and hostess of Moderne were very friendly and helped us tremendously with luggage and other logistics. We were very warmly welcomed and can recommend a stay here! Its central location near Central Park, Times Square, multiple metro stations and a multitude of delicious restaurants from whichever background you want make this a great place to stay. The hotel is also particularly and surprisingly quiet - since it is away from Broadway (though close) and on a street that does not have as much traffic.

The beds are on the hard side. The hotel does not offer breakfast. However, there are many great places for breakfast just around the corner.

I took my daughters to NYC for the Labour Day week and stayed at this wonderful hotel. Well located, clean, super comfortable and stylish. We will definitely stay there!

We liked everything!

We had a great experience at the Moderne NYC. The location was excellent, with Columbus circle a very short walk, and easy distance for Times Square. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and a good size for New York. Best of all were the team- we spent a week at the hotel and everyone we met was kind and accommodating. We will book here again the next time we’re in New York.

We didn’t want a Hotel with a restaurant or bar (no need given you are in central NYC!), but if you are looking for that then this would be a downside.
