Sonder Duane Street

2nd time I am staying here. The Staff at this hotel is simply GREAT ! Polite, kind, respectful and helpful. I love Tribeca so, for me, this location is great.

I think that the cleaning service could be improved. I cannot say that my room was dirty but it s the second I find a lot of hair in the toilet, as if the cleaning process was not that effective. Apart from that, all great.

Clean and welcoming, staff very pleasant and helpful, great bed, good communication. We appreciated the storage facilities in the reception area.

No glassware, no porcelain ware. Didn’t appreciate paper plates, and cups and plastic knives and forks. NO servicing when staying 5 nights was a long stretch, for the price paid. We didn’t appreciate the Exercycle being in the room, due to the amount of space it took up. Would have appreciated free to aid access to news channels on the tv, however due to the lack of space for luggage, we didn’t have room to sit and relax, as we had to use the sofas for our bags.

Let's be honest. New York is not a cheap city to visit. You either pay an arm and a leg for central accommodation, you sacrifice quality, or you move way out into the suburbs. Thankfully, Sonder Duane Street meant we didn't have to compromise much at all. Reasonably priced (compared to other central Manhattan properties), Sonder is centrally located and super easy to get anywhere else either by foot, subway or bus. It's clean, cosy and the staff could not be any friendlier or more accommodating. From the moment we phoned from abroad to ask questions before booking, to the warm greetings each day, they are an absolute credit to the hotel. Furthermore, the lobby 'bar' is a nice common area to get fresh water, pack bags or chill out before or after a long day. While the rooms are not serviced daily (you can request this at extra charge), staff are more than happy to send fresh towels on request and as you're more than likely to be spending all day out and about, it doesn't take much effort to keep your room tidy ;) Some other reviews have mentioned traffic/subway noise, however we didn't really notice it. Plus, you're in the middle of one of the biggest urban areas in the world, so have to expect that! Our room was well-designed with a comfortable bed, good shower, hairdryer, iron + board and a small fridge to stash our craft beer and wine finds. Importantly, the wi-fi was also pleasantly fast and reliable. It was summer when we visited, and the room temperature was absolutely fine throughout. Following our experience, there is honestly not a single negative thing that we can say about the property and we won't hesitate to book once again whenever we make it back to magnificent New York. The only 'suggestion' I'd make is that stays of 5+ nights might avail one free room cleaning on a day of their choice, but this is hardly a big deal. location was great, close to 2 main subway lines and restaurants, clean, good sized room (for nyc) with tall windows, hotel lobby had a nice community vibe because sometimes would find guests there working on their laptops, Front Desk Staff was amazing… very helpful

hotel needs lock boxes asap, had to keep my important papers jewelry etc. in my bag for the entire trip, which is stressful, especially walking around NYC also the tv was hard to operate, had to stand right in front and make sure to press the batteries in And then pair it to the tv… each and every single time… and yes, asked front desk for help which they were very helpful but that is what I needed to do to operate the tv

My first Sonder experience and I was very pleased with the stay. This Sonder is right in Tribeca, which is a great location — not too touristy but vibrant. I like the Sonder concept where there is no interaction with anyone from the staff, you just download their app and can manage everything from there (including checking-in). The room was spacious and had a nice desk, which made it very convenient to work from. The lobby is also a great place to hang out. They have all kinds of amenities that you can pick up and in the morning they have fresh coffee. The staff were all very friendly.

• Just a couple of The AC is motion-censored, so when I was working from the desk in the room, it would shut off (which then the room would get really hot). This was quite annoying during our stay • On our last morning, the AC wasn’t working at all, so we needed to get maintenance to come fix it • One of the couches in the lobby was really dirty with crumbs and hair, and my husband asked a couple of times if they could clean it (which you would imagine they would since it’s in the lobby).

Stayed there three nights. A wonderful base for exploring the city. Clean, easy and comfortable. A good value for money option.

We had such a lovely stay here for our anniversary! They even put balloons in our room to mark the occasion which was really thoughtful and a lovely surprise to arrive to. The room was much bigger than we expected with a big comfy bed, sofa and a big bathroom with a great powerful shower to wash the day off. Super easy access to the subway & within walking distance of most tourist sites, as well as many places to eat & drink. Staff were really kind and there was also lockers to leave suitcases if you have a late checkout. Would come back!

The only tiny thing would be more wardrobe / closet space but not much else!

Good location unusually quiet for New York, Great to have small fridge in the room; Really nice friendly staff Travelled with 2 kids so very good spot
