Staff are always delightful and a special mention goes to Jose and team at the front door. The SG is in a wonderful location with all of SoHo, Little Italy, Chinatown, Nolita and the West Village within easy walking distance. I love the beds and was grateful that we were able to change room to a North facing location (my preference). Interestingly, the bathroom amenities varied in the two rooms despite them being the same category (e.g. no vanity set in first room). Rooms are lacking an additional clothes hook in the hallway. If it's wet weather or a longer stay there just isn't enough hanging space.

Breakfast at the bistro is terrible. They just don't seem to be able to get it right. Service is generally slow and inconsistent (I had to ask 4 times for my croissant, by which time the coffee was finished), checks seem to take an age to be delivered, bacon was cremated and then replaced after the rest of the meal was finished. I would strongly recommend using the hotel bar (on the reception level) for breakfast. I've been staying at SG since it opened and what used to be a cool evening vibe has now turned into a scrum of mostly 'Just 21'ers' sipping on a cocktail to a very loud DJ. Yes I'm getting old but I'm still having fun...be aware that Thursday onwards there is no place for a quiet drink, it's essentially a club. And there is a club too! Double trouble.

A lovely hotel with nice amenities and a cool vibe. The diner restaurant on the ground floor was fab, nice food with great service, I would recommend for breakfast or lunch. The lobby bar is well appointed, with very nice furnishings, albeit service is a little slow.

I have travelled extensively and stayed in New York many times, so I am used to paying security deposit’s etc. I paid for my room in advance and on arrival the hotel secured $200 per night for a 4 night stay, $800 in total. I understand this is to cover bar tabs and or damages, but with this policy if you stayed for two weeks this would amount to $2,800! I have never come across such an extensive amount.

Beautiful decor, mood. View from our room was wonderful. Well appointed rooms. Lovely front door staff. Walkable to all sorts of nyc destinations and subway. Plenty of eating and drinking options in the neighborhood.

We were there for 5 nights, so it was particularly distressing that the engineering of the shower meant that no matter how you pointed the shower heads, water ran over the ledge and completely soaked the floor/shower mat. They attempted some minor fixes but the issues was consistent. I imagine if all showers were constructed the same way this issue must happen in other rooms as well.

This is our "go to" place in New York, mainly because of the balance of factors. It is thoughtfully stylish without being overdesigned. Decors are plush, but not bordello-plush. Its service-oriented without being overbearing. Room engineering - shower controls, lights, curtains, etc. - is modern but not bewildering (special thanks - all lights are dimmable). Bed linens are high quality, but no weird colours, textures and materials. Neighborhood is lively without being business-mad. Hotel has a club feel, and a lot is going on socially, but it is not a party hotel. There are few business types, and those who are here, know why they are here, and not in midtown. There are some families with children, but they clearly know why they are here, and not around 42d.

Hotel, of course, is not immune to endemic New York hotel problems: escalating rates of tipping and staff expectations in this regard, absurd resort fee, exorbitant taxation of hotel services, relatively small room, unpredictable view from a room window, absence of a kettle and some tea bags (we can drink espressos 24х7!). We just stoically accept all this as an inevitability.

Stylish and comfortable. Very clean too. Bar and salon areas were excellent. Room was spacious with a good view. The bar was outstanding, great cocktails, friendly and entertaining. Service in the salon good too.

Lobby area chaotic. Doorman running around trying to be a concierge as well. Pre booking a taxi to the airport took nearly a whole day, but finally achieved! Not impressed. I didn’t see a concierge in 5 days. Doorman were polite but doing less on the door and more running around. Check in was an issue as we had paid for 2 rooms but they only had one reserved - this meant my companion was quite a few floors away. I had requested two bedrooms on the same floor. Not really concerned about this for us, so service lacking here- check out annoying customer service too. Not quite as grand experience as expected.

The hotel was lovely, and our room (standard double) was the biggest room I've had in my many stays in NYC hotels. The room was well appointed with lights strategically placed and the desk was great to host calls from and actually work, and the bed was huge and comfortable. I also loved the food and drink options: Soho Diner, bar/lounge, room service all with compelling menus available pretty early by NYC standards and late as well. It was great that the room had a Nespresso machine. Further we stayed 6 nights, and the staff really went out of their way to get me extra hangers, extra creamers and nespresso pods each day since my husband and I each drink 2 cups and the room comes standard with 2 pods. Even though it's usually expected that you order food/drinks in the lobby area I found the host very willing to let me sit there and work on my laptop without buying anything.

Hotel is pretty dark in the common areas and it was a bummer to have to worry about whether you needed to order food or drinks just to sit and work in the lobby.

We absolutely loved Soho Grand. Location is superb we could not have wished for better. We loved the decor of the common areas. The lounge is so cozy and comfortable. We loved the decor of the rooms too. Rooms are comfortable as were the beds, linen and pillows. Staff are all very pleasant and helpful. Anthony at concierge was so helpful. Remington in the lounge was lovely. He is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. My husband and I stayed in a King Studio which was so comfortable for the two of us. My husband left and I was there for a few days alone so I moved into a Soho King room which was absolutely wonderful for me on my own. I was so comfortable. Thank you Soho Grand!!!. We would definitely stay here again.

The bath towels were a great quality but unfortunately very small. These should all be replaced with good size bath sheets of at least 110cm x 160cm.

Great location, great staff (Marcus in the reception was fantastic) and lovely rooms/beds!

The bars looked nice but since this is a VERY popular hotel (also for people not staying in the hotel) it was virtually impossible to get a table/drink there.

This was a return stay at the SOHO GRAND ... after almost 10 years and it's still one of my favorite hotels in NYC. The location the staff and the facilities. There was the SOHO Diner that wasn't there when I first stayed and the food and staff were wonderful. We ate there for both breakfast , lunch and dinner on different days and it was perfect even in a city where there are wonderful options just out the door but with jet lag and teenagers sometimes it's about convenience. I would highly recommended this hotel as I am planning on rebooking again for our next visit to NYC!

Great food and drinks options (bar/restaurants) and mini bar in room has everything you could possibly need! even though in noisy Soho, I slept super well - great soundproofing compared to many other hotels I’ve tried in the area. great location, close to amazing shops and restaurants. nespresso machine in the room - huge bonus for a European travelling ;) thank you for a wonderful stay.. 100% will be back!
