Coming from Geelong (Victoria), it was amazing to be around the Sydney Harbour (including the Bridge & Opera House). Being close to the ‘Carnival’ cruise to get on the next day-made the experience so stress free
The whole experience was spectacular

The location was good for all the Sydney attractions.
The hotel charges a premium price for its "harbour view" rooms, but what it does not tell you is that the harbour view will be blocked from dawn to about 7pm by a cruise ship (see photo) leaving you with about 1 hour of daylight in the evening when you can enjoy the view of the harbour. These rooms would be better described as harbour facing, with the view of the side of a cruise ship for most of the time. When we complained, we were told that if we were not happy, we could leave! If a harbour view is important to you, then DO NOT BOOK A "HARBOUR VIEW" ROOM AT THIS HOTEL.

The location is fantastic a perfect location to explore Sydney. Close to many different dining options, night life, tourist destinations and local tours. Public transport accessible and the hotel provides paid valet parking. The roof top pool is amazing with perfect views of Sydney Harbour and the surrounding area. I was in Sydney for a ship inspection of the Azamara Journey for a ship inspection and I was able to record the ship arriving in to Circular Quay, spectacular. It is a great place to sit and watch the sun rise with a cup of coffee or sit and watch the lights of our spectacular Harbour. The views of iconic landmarks like the Opera House and The Sydney Harbour bridge are stunning.
They need to add door strips to the rooms as the light from the corridor streams into the room at night.

The location of this hotel is exceptional, which is why we chose it. The roof pool and spa is a great way to see the city and harbour views. I love that the building and area is historic. Service was good, hotel.reception organised transport when asked. There is an excellent cafe right next to the hotel ( to the left of the atrium), so if you haven't organised breakfast, go there. Great coffee and better meals.
Because it's right above the International terminal for cruise ships, if one comes into the Harbour, the view changes a lot. This happened while we were there but only for a day. I imagine in summer it would be busier. The hotel is not super updated. I didn't worry about that because due to location it would cost more to stay here if it were super modern.

I was really nervous due to the reviews, but my stay and room was nothing like the bad reviews and photos.. I guess I just got lucky because my room was really clean, bed was comfy, the staff were very nice and the lobby area was really cool.. On top of that the location was amazing, so close to everything.. I would definitely come back to this hotel when I visit Sydney again..
I have no complains about the bathroom, very clean and great lighting with a good amount of soap and ammenities, but would be nice to have better water pressure.

Location was fantastic - right across the road from the cruise terminal making it perfect for those going on a cruise. The staff were helpful and the bed was extremely comfortable. Hotel was a quick walk from circular quay train station so getting there from the airport was very simple
Staff explained that the $50 security hold charged upon check-in can take up to 3 weeks to be refunded if the card used is a debit card. A credit card apparently only takes 3 days

Location Location Location !! The Rocks is my most favourite part of Sydney and this is smack bang in the middle of it. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot on our budget. We were driving back home to Bris from Merimbula and decided to surprise our 2 boys with a one night stopover. They’ve talked about wanting to see the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House for a while. Rydges did not disappoint !! Staff were super lovely and first class. After a long drive the valet parking was perfect. The rooftop pool..outstanding ! Buffet breakfast amazing ! Walk over to the Opera House an easy 10mins. We will most definitely be back !
Our room faced a brick wall, although, it didn’t bother us too much as the rooftop made up for it. We spent a lot of time up there and walking around The Rocks.

We liked the room and the view and staff were great. When we arrived they had no record of our booking from booking.com, which wasn’t great, but the staff put it right and got us a very nice room with a view to the Sydney harbour bridge.
There was a little hiccup as the Rydges did not have our booking on record. Obviously there was a lack of communication between Rydges and Booking.com as it was not under any of our names or the reference number provided by Booking.com. However we were fortunate that Rydges was not fully booked and we were able to secure a room. They even allowed us to check in early.

Your front desk staff, specifically Lisa and another beautiful girl with a head scarf and I have forgotten her name, so sorry, were absolutely wonderful! I arrived in a taxi and realised that I had somehow lost my purse at the airport. Incredibly, after a return trip to the airport I found it had been handed in by a very kind soul and I returned. Lisa and her coworker were very kind and supportive of my dilemma and I was so appreciative of their kind words, smiles and helpfulness. The room was lovely as was the view but it is the kindness of those lovely young women that I will recall most vividly when I next book at Rydges.

Staff were excellent. Location was perfect for enjoying Vivid Sydney. We were able to watch the 'Written in the stars' drone light show from the rooftop. This was handy as we had our 3 year old with us so we could watch the show and then head back to our room straight afterwards. It still got quite crowded up on the rooftop for this so get up to the roof early for a seat. Located very close to Circular Quay. We used public transport to get around from here and it was great! We took a ferry over to Taronga Zoo and Luna Park. We even took the ferry around to Darling harbour even though we realised it was walkking distance once we gained our bearings. The light rail and train were easy to navigate and payment with paywave on credit card was handy. Our room was a little dated, but clean and beds were comfortable. Easy to use safe. Aircon was great. Bathroom had a shower over bath with a curtain on the shower but it had magnets so it was weighted.
Shower was a bit fiddly to get the temperature right. It did end up being a bit pricey BUT it was worth it for the location and the view from the rooftop. My husband and child did use the swimming pool and spa pool on the rooftop but he complained that it had a lot of chlorine so he wasn't keen to use it again.
