Breakfast was amazing. Amount of facilities is great. Property is conveniently located. Service is great. A lot of activities at the beach (paid). Beach is great for both relaxing, swimming and sun bathing. Good place to chill out after round Oman trip for 2-3 of days. NY disco was good.

No places to eat closeby, except the hotel restaurants which are quite overpriced. Need to drive 15 min to the closest town with plenty of good restaurants. Disappointed with the NY quality of set menu at the Italian restaurant, they try to impress and create something extraordinary, but in my opinion do not quite succeed - taste wise was 3 out of 5. Better sometimes to stick to something more simple but make it top notch.

Friendly staff. Seafood restaurant was incredible. Breakfast was v v good. Location is amazing. Utilized in-resort medical service. Associated dive center staff were also friendly and welcoming & diving was very good. Booking activities through the hotel (and paying through hotel) was also a v pleasant experience, very professional.

Noisy. Cleaners made noise in the corridors early in the morning, which woke up my wife. Activities (lazy river) close to the sea view rooms, which was also noisy.

A fantastic location on a beautiful stretch of coast in Onan. The hotel was settled in a lovely cove with the mountains right up behind the hotel. The staff were all fantastic from check in all the way through, very kind and attentive to us and our kids. It was great to have the whats app function to be able to ask questions or make requests, all were responded to immediately! We were in Al Waha which was the family hotel. The pools were great and nice and warm and the beach was super close and well managed. We enjoyed some water sports with the kids. There were lots of restaurants to choose from along the resort. The added extras of the towel animals, the turtle gift for our daughter, free ice cream one evening all made it even more special! And the Christmas decorations and touches were lovely! The hotel helped us book an incredible dolphin and snorkelling trip where we got to swim alongside turtles. A real highlight for us all!!

As the family hotel we would have hoped for just a few concessions to the kids - maybe a lower sink in the swimming area toilets so the kids can reach, a few more water sports that younger kids can get involved in, a few more food options for kids. It was a shame that the main grass area was taken up by a work conference/ games for 2 of the days we were there as it meant our boy couldn’t play football for those 2 days and we had to have loud (sometimes rude) music playing! Bad timing for us maybe! We would have liked to indulge a bit more in the buffets but it was quite expensive for kids when they just eat a couple of chicken nuggets! Maybe under 12’s could be free?

Hotel fantastic. Personal extremely professional and friendly. Quiet if you stay at Al Husn hotel. Rooms are very confortable and all workers are concentrated to satisfy customers. Private beach and private pool with a service extremely fast. We had an excellent experience!

Internet connection very slow. Information shared by the staff not always updated. Not clear on the reservation in Booking.com that there are 3 different hotels! You are reserving at the Hotel Shangri-La Al Waha but this is an hotel for families… automatically the reception at the Al Waha hotel suggested to book at the hotel Al Husn which is more exclusive and more quiet but as well more expensive…

We were travelling as a group of friends with an 18 month old therefore, stayed in Al-Waha, the family oriented hotel. The staff were excellent. Always happy to help and respond very quickly to queries/requests. Very polite and friendly. 5* service Great facilities through out. We thoroughly enjoyed our time by the sea, the pools and the lazy river. Suitable areas for children too. Large rooms, comfortable and lovely view from the balcony, with places to dry your wet gear. Stunning landscape all around. Water dispensing machines throughout the property which was really useful. Good breakfast options at the buffet. We also took advantage of the free shuttle bus service to the souq. Would recommend.

We weren’t keen on the Buffet dinner, and the soft drinks were very pricey. We did not try the restaurants therefore, unable to comment on those.

Our experience at the Shangri-La was exceptional. The atmosphere was amazing, the attitude of the staff was very welcoming, and they demonstrated an example of excellent care capable of providing the right advice and prompt action when requested. The resort premises were very organised with beautiful settings. I would also take this opportunity to thank " Dulakshi" for her hospitality and excellent organized work. (and for the beautiful birthday decorations and cake surprise!) Due to the excellent service provided, I decided to subscribe to Shangri-La membership and would recommend this experience to others.

The property was excellent, nothing to dislike.

Amazing location in a private resort on the seashore. Loved the shared facilities between the two hotels which allowed for diverse food options as well as use of pools and shared spaces. The beach is clean and sandy, very pleasant to swim or sunbathe. The housekeeping service was perfect and kept the room extremely clean and tidy. Although there were a lot of families with kids it never felt too crowded or loud.

The concierge service was variable at times, and some of the members of staff needed reminding and double checking, as they had forgotten to book the return leg of out airport transfer. The sun bed allocation on the beach was a bit tricky, as most people were leaving towels very early in the morning and blocking a lot of sunbeams without actually being there. It happens in many hotels, but they should find a better way to manage this.

My family and myself were glad to be back in Shangri La. Facility was nice and most of the services were top notch. I would like to commend the following staff making our stay remarkable: Den from reception and rest of the team … Majid and Gayan from housekeeping All Conceirge staff Swimming pool / kids play room / Water games staff …. Appreciate your professionalism… In room dining was very attentive 👏🏾 Thank you all for your support ….. we enjoyed our time with you

Despite the fact that the food was tasty and daily menu was mouthwatering (THANKS CHEF!!) … I was really disappointed with the attitude of all Arabic speakers junior staff / waitress… we felt that junior staff were paying their attention ONLY to western visitors …. Really disappointing
