Good location, amenities were good, service was good, staff were good, room was clean and everything was modern, WiFi was excellent, very close to mrt.

We had requested for a double and two singles but got two doubles since the request was more than 5 months before arrival, you would of thought this would be ok on arrival, but it took a further four days. They didn’t have very good on site food, but other hotels on the same street had so wasn’t a major problem, plus lots of hawker centres around and about. Both of these negatives are not show stoppers I would without hesitation recommend Somerset to anyone going to Singapore and will likely stay there myself again.

Great location for the historic and financial centres and opposite the downtown train line so immediate access to the Bay Area. Multiple buses too. Very quiet hotel, excellent service from front desk and room cleaning. Lovely pool. I can’t find a fault with this hotel.

Everything was perfect

Fantastic location, with plenty of well-priced food options around for takeaway. Super close to the Bencoolen MRT, and easy to walk to other sites around Singapore city. Loved having the kitchenette for a toddler, and the bathroom being seperate from the bedroom. Rooftop pool was clean and big too! The staff were very accomodating with helpful advice. The noise from building works wasn’t bad at all, even when we stayed at home from 10am-12pm so our daughter could nap. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

The only thing I can pinpoint was that the rug in the living room wasn’t well-vacuumed when we arrived, we then used it for 5 days and it wasn’t cleaned.

The hotel is attentive. Initially I thought my mum is coming to stay with me from nursing home. I just ask there is transport for wheelchair they give me wheelchair access room which is bigger than other room. Toilet and bathroom is also wheel chair access. And it is easy access to garden, laundrette in the 05th floor. The stay is around chinese new year. It is good to have kitchen in case no food surrounding. Bed is comfortable. Maybe remote.on the tv need to change battery but I didn't ask to change. The toilet seat may be a bit high for asian height.

The apartment was clean, big (according to Singapore), with fully appointed kitchen and the ensuit with a bath tub! We were very happy with the facilities in this hotel too! Very close to MRT and buses. The staff were really helpful, cheerful and kind, very professional! The lobby was very cosy, allow people to rest, without any interruption from staff. They also provide cooled lemon water (all you can drink) in the lobby. I really like it!

The internet connection was a bit unstable, but only for the first night. Also, the air conditioning in the main bedroom kept have this running water noise at night, we were having trouble to get a good sleep on the first night, but then we got used to it.

The space within the 2-bedroom apartment was amazing, with 2 bathrooms as a real bonus and plenty of room for 4 people. The swimming pool area on the rooftop was much better than presented in the pictures, with significantly more space and pool area than the photo suggests. Air-conditioning in the lobby and rooms worked perfectly, and the two lifts were speedy and spacious. The staff were all friendly and approachable, offering helpful advice when requested. The location is perfectly situated, within a relatively quiet area, with a blue-line MRT station immediately opposite, and stations for other lines within a very short walk. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as hawkers markets at Bugis, as well as the Bugis street market. You can comfortably walk to Little India and Kampong Glam from here. The Somerset Bencoolen Singapore is an ideal choice for families who would like the space of a 2 room apartment without having to pay for 2 rooms in a hotel.

Overall, the apartment presented very well, however there were a couple of minor areas that are starting to look like they could use some attention or updating, such as the tiling in the ensuite bathroom. Other's in our travelling group found the beds a little firm. We did not use the breakfast option so cannot comment on it.

I looked at a number of locations around Singapore online, but once I arrived and saw several of them in person - I was very happy I’d chosen to stay in the Bencoolen area. You’re close to four different metro stations, connecting you to many lines for getting around. There are two excellent CS grocery stores nearby, and having a kitchen (with microwave), table and chair to drink your morning coffee and eat, and a washing machine inside the hotel are huge pluses! (The hotel washing machine costs less than the local laundromat. And I actually walked to most sights, many are just a short walk away.) It was nice to have a separate living room, you’re definitely getting more space here for your money. The bathroom was great, lots of storage and counter space along with a larger enclosed shower, excellent hot water and good towels. There’s a drying rack and ironing board, and a small walk in closet in the bedroom. Staff members were very helpful and always quick to acknowledge you.

Unfortunately, all hotels in Singapore seem overpriced for what you get. Given that situation, this was a pretty good value, but for the amount of money per night, I certainly expected a better mattress. I’d just spent three months traveling through SE Asia, Malaysia and then Singapore, and experienced far too many cheap, hard, uncomfortable mattresses. I’d finally lucked out with a better, and more restful mattress in Melaka - so was very surprised to get another uncomfortably hard mattress at a hotel presenting itself as higher end. At the very least, put a mattress topper on to provide better sleep! (The sheets and comforter were fine, the mattress felt like a one star hotel.)

The apartment is really spacious, clean and comfortable to stay in. Kitchen has a lot of utensils and everything you need (fridge, freezer, microwave, stove...). Nice bedroom with a very comfy bed and good quality sleep. The views from the apartment were nice and there is no noise coming from the outside. The swimming pool and jacuzzi are not big but still they are nice and comfortable. Gym has limited equipment but enough to satisfy your work out needs. The staff from the hotel are helpful and friendly. Great location very close to the metro and you have several convenience stores nearby, as well as a shopping mall within short walking distance.

Furniture is a bit old

Convenient location with easy access to metro and taxis. Numerous eateries in the vicinity though most of the time was spent away from the accommodation. There was no lack of facilities, laundry, ironing, toiletries and the like. There was ample hot water. Two TV’s, the bedroom and seating area. Ample hanging space and quality coat hangers. The kitchen was well equipped with cutlery and crockery and the like for two people - but for obvious reasons. At 45 sq metre. there was space to move around and be comfortable. Staff we’re very efficient and courteous and arranged for early occupation on our arrival. It was clean and kept clean.

Nothing really springs to mind. It suited our needs and met all our expectations apart from the view. We were conveniently located on the 5ht floor but the view was roof top level with the surroundings.

The pictures don’t do this place justice, it’s much nicer than I thought it would be. It’s like a hotel but with more room to spread out and a kitchen… all cheaper than most other basic rooms in Singapore. They also have a kids paddling pool, a full length pool and a jacuzzi and a gym! Also it has a mosque right next door which was a very nice surprise. It’s very conveniently located right opposite bencoolen MRT station which only takes 10 minutes to get to Marina bay. The staff are lovely and very helpful too! Lots of food places around with some good halal locations.

The WiFi was giving us issues on the first day, reported it to reception and the IT team promptly sorted it out.
