The Hotel is super centrally located, to one side the famous Belgrade Fortress with amazing views of the Danube, to the other side main boulevards and Republic Square, all walkable. My flight arrived early morning and I asked to leave my luggage to start sightseeing, however they gave the room at that time, the manager was around and personally came to say Hello, girl at the front desk super attentive as well. For departure as my flight was early they arranged a taxi for me at a fixed price as I had a bad experience coming from the airport when the driver charged me more than agreed in the voucher….

The only thing I wish to mentioned is I was trying to contact the property days in advance to help me with the taxis as I already read reviews about scams and nobody answered me. At the reception they explained was the reservation department and they will address this matter.

The location is good and the room and the bathroom is spacious and is clean and well maintained and there was housekeeping on a daily basis during our one week stay at this hotel. We had opted for bed with breakfast and the breakfast choice of items was good and with plenty of vegetable and fruit salads. Though there was more non-veg food items on the menu list, still we could manage to our stomach fill with fruits, vegetable salads and coffee .

There was no coffee kettle and no iron box and no safe locker box and the fridge was not working. The front office staff did not help us to get a taxi to the airport and thankfully we used taxi app to book our taxi to the airport.

In June 2000 I set myself the ambition to visit every country in the world of which there are 225 and my visit to Serbia was my 159th country, consequently staying in a wide range of hotels. Before I start I must point out certain facts. The hotel, is in the city centre, is far cheaper than the others nearby and was built 124 years ago. If there are any issues with the room and reported they are resolved quickly. The ambience of the hotel is its character. For the past 70 years it has been tied to a catering college for 15 to 19 year old kids, training around 1400 a year. They attend college 4 days and get practical experience at the hotel on the 5th. To stay at this hotel you MUST BE TOLERANT and have a desire to assist the younger generation get educated. At reception or in the restaurant there are around 10 students in each every day trying their best. The prompt and friendly service received, outweighs any issues. The kitchen has around 30 students every day learning. The quality of food is exceptional. If you are intolerant or self-centred this is not the hotel for you and you should stay in a ‘chain hotel’ paying the appropriate rate. I viewed my stay as my contribution to ‘doing good’, whilst also saving money. In summary I was very happy with my stay.

There were no issues that were not resolved.

The hotel is right in the center of Belgrade. The rooms are clean. The breakfast was very good. The staff is friendly.

The position in the center of Belgrade comes with some minuses. The streets are narrow, the hotel entrance is on a pedestrian street. There is no parking available. The public parking places around the hotel are always busy. The hotel offered some paid parking right below the hotel. The parking is inside a very small and crowded garage that has a partnership with the hotel. It costs 20 euro per night and it is a problem if you want to get your car out, because the cars are packed like crazy. Apart from that, the boys at the parking place are friendly, they speak english, and guided me to find the parking entrance that is hard to find. It seems that this parking can be booked in advance. The bathroom is very outdated. It looks like 80's.

The location is amazing - we were able to walk everywhere in the central area and our car was safely parked underneath the hotel (there is a separate charge for this but worth it as the roads are narrow and traffic is pretty bad so at least this way the car is looked after). The room was clean and breakfast was excellent. Reception staff also very helpful but the waitresses could not speak English, so that was a a bit of an issue when ordering.

The building needs repairs - the walls had crack. This aspect would bring down the rating for me as maintenance is needed. However, we still had a comfortable stay and the state of the walls did not affect us in any way :)

The position of the hotel is unbeatable, within walking distance from all the major attractions and, strategically, right next to one of the main bus hubs so that you can arrive from the airport by public bus and reach Ada Ciganlija and Zemun in ten minutes (!). I was traveling with my senior mother and I managed to show her much more of this wonderful city than I had ever dreamed of, with daily mid-day rests that would have not been possible otherwise. The hotel is very very quiet and the beds are very comfortable. The friendliness of the staff was exceptional, but this is to be expected in Serbia, where humanity, not algorithms, is still in charge. The hotel is owned by the Government and is part of the local hotel school, with the students practicing there, this is nice to know, since by staying you're supporting the future of Serbian tourism. Breakfast was excellent and beyond exceptional value for money, a fantastic starting point for a great day out. Finally, there is a supermarket right next to the entrance on the beautiful square, along with a number of great eateries within a 3 minute walking radius. Overall, he value for money of the hotel is absolutely great and, if you're not looking for luxury or exotic services, it's very hard to beat in central Belgrade.

It is one of the oldest historic hotels in Belgrade and, like others, is in need of a renovation which, given the circumstances, can only be substantial. This translates in rooms that are not perfect (but still very adequate, in our experience) and especially bathrooms that are not up to modern standards of a four-star hotel (but still clean and with excellent bathroom linen). Specifically, the bathtub showers in two of the three rooms we booked, had no curtains/sliding doors (but one of them did), so that, if you weren't careful when showering, you could flood the bathroom's floor, but it's not a big deal at all.

It has a very very nice location in the centre of Old Belgrad. Kalemegdan fortress is very close. Many shopping streets and full of very nice restaurants and terraces are just starting from the hotel. The front desk staff was very kind, they answer questions and help you with everything you need. A decent, varied and cheap breakfast.

The hotel does not have its own parking lot. It is a rather small "parking" on the street behind the hotel that can be used by the hotel's customers within the limits of available places. The cost is €20 per day. The car key must be left there for the staff to move the cars depending on how someone leaves the car park. The hotel is not renovated and seems like going back in time, but everything is clean and well-kept! The air conditioner is quite noisy.

Excellent location, just few minutes walk from Knez Mihajlova! The hotel took note that I am arriving early in the morning, so they gave me the room before 7:00 am, which allowed me to get a short nap and enjoy the rest of the day in the city.

Bathroom seems to be ripe of renovation, but if that investment would increase to price of the stay, then it is perfect as it is! :)

The facility is wonderfully located and there are a lot of very good typical restaurants around, leaving aside that it is it the heart of the old city. I booked this hotel as I sought for a charming Jugoslav atmosphere, and I was surely rewarded in that. The only negative aspect was that the previous occupiers of my room smoked heavily inside, and it took time for the smell of smoke to vanish. More efforts in cleanliness would be advisable.

Nothing, just the smell of smoke in the room. Overall the hotel exceeded my expectations, and in fact I already booked for staying there again in a next travel.

What should I write. It's written since 1923, bathroom and furnitures are already a little bit aged. Nevertheless, room was big enough, very clean and last but not least, I used it only for sleep. Hotel location is very central in/to the old town and just a minute walk to have a lot of restaurants, some minutes to have a beautiful view in Sava and Danube and also Belgrad. Price and service fit very well to each other. Who don't need a 4 seasons night, to whom I strongly recommend.

Nothing, but depending on my expectations.
