Location was excellent and the staff were excellent. We had an unserviced room which was great for us felt like a home away from home. If we needed more towels we just had to ask and it was no problem. All the staff we seen were very professional and had smiles on their faces from the cleaners to reception. Big shout out to the security guy who has a plait and goaty. He knew we wanted a table out the front to enjoy our dinner and came into the bar and told us when one was free and wiped it down too. Dinner was fantastic too. And I loved the Christmas tree in the bar it was so nice sitting next to it while enjoying a drink. Merry Christmas to you all.

The room was great. Very tidy. Lots of space. So comfortable. Loved it. Large, comfortable bathroom. Excellent service. Property to navigate. Loved how close it is to everything (shops, sites etc). I was able to get parking which was great for me and my kids.

Breakfast was included in my package. It’s usually served at 7:30am which would have been perfect for us as we had to leave at 8am. When we got down to the breakfast area, there was a sign saying breakfast was delayed till 8:30am. So we missed out on this aspect of our package. Wish there were plates and cutlery in the cupboards in the room. Wish internet was free.

Location location location! And it was quiet. Hadn’t expected that given the bar underneath and the size of the property but it was outstandingly quiet. Very helpful staff. Clean, adequate room. Loved the happy hour in the bar and the very reasonably priced food. Ok so it’s not glitzy inside but surely you don’t expect glitzy from a historic place?

Didn’t find anything to dislike. Suited us just fine. Ok the shower pressure isn’t as good as at home but it’s still better than other places we’ve stayed at and was perfectly adequate. The bathroom is small. Larger folk than us may not have much room to manoeuvre.

Superb location next to Haymarket Light Railway so easy access to all the sites - Room was clean, bed was comfortable and staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast was good and excellent value for money. Reasonably priced food and drinks in bar.

I had an overall positive experience during my stay. The check-in process was not only friendly but also efficient. I appreciated the convenience of a special room for luggage storage, which came in handy before check-in and after check-out. We arrived early, and the staff kindly offered us a room earlier than expected. The cleanliness of the room and the availability of hot water added to the comfort of our stay. The hotel's location is perfect, catering to all the needs of a Sydney tourist, and it's conveniently close to various attractions.

The only drawback was some noise from neighbouring guests. If you're fortunate to have quiet neighbours without small children, you'll likely enjoy your stay.

Overpriced Car Parking: Despite the positive aspects, the car parking at the hotel is overpriced considering the quality and layout of the parking space. The basement parking can be difficult to navigate and feels inadequately designed, leading to frustration for guests trying to park their vehicles.

The hotel was in a super convenient location. The light rail was at the front door, Paddys Market and Chinatown at the back door. The train station was a 5 minute walk away with trains travelling north or south of the state. It was easy to get around. This is a pretty clean, basic 3.5 star hotel that met our needs. We booked well in advance so the cost to stay was good. The Cafe serves night food. Hotel was very quiet.

The room was serviced during our stay, but carpets weren't vacuumed. Both our beds (or the floor) had a very slight lean to the left, so in the middle of the night, you found yourself feeling a bit off centre in bed. Beds were basically comfortable but could do with mattress toppers for added comfort. The Citidines near the airport had amazing beds and pillows!!

The location was Brilliant so easy to get around to all the places we wanted to go. The convience of where the motel is situated, 500mtrs to Central Railway staion and the light rail is prectically right outside the door which made getting around the City a breeze. Also very clean and tidy and for $15 you can have breakfast down stairs before heading off for days adventures. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Whilst I found the bed a bit soft my husband slept like a baby so all in all very comfortable.

We had a very comfortable and joyful stay at the Great Southern Hotel. The location is perfect, the staff are friendly and very helpful. Our room was spacious and bright, the facilities were absolutely perfect and we had a complementary bottle of Moscato and chocolates for our stay on New Year's Eve which was very lovely. There was a good bar and restaurant downstairs. Everything was nice and beautiful.

The price of the accommodations are generally very expensive in Sydney during the Christmas and NYE compared to the normal times. There was nothing particularly wrong, everywhere else would be as expensive during that time.

The room was fine, with all the facilities that we could need. The staff was very nice. Because we arrived to early, they let us leave our suitcases while we were waiting for our room. The hotel is placed in a very good street, close to everything, we walk to everywhere from the property and we safe a lot of money in transportation thanks to that.

Although, we rent the room without service room. They never came to ask if we needed something, like toilet paper, you can go to the reception to ask for, but it would be nice if they ask you or they just leave it out of the room. The tv didn’t have Netflix (or any other streaming) too old.
