I stayed here in August 2023 and I arrived with a large suitcase. I was immediately greeted by the front desk rep who opted to assist with my bag even though I am pretty sure I was not allowed due to health concerns for him. I was quickly checked in and accompanied to my room. Breakfast was on time each morning and you get to choose from a menu-once it was delivered, it was hot and you are ready to dive in. I had a busy day before I left so I forgot to tip my house lady, I will have to go back and do that but if my review is to your liking, please tip her for me because the room was immaculate once she cleans. Thank you so much to the staff at The Bell Hotel especially my front desk rep who took the time out to offer so much support to me. I did not get a chance to see him before I leave but will be back soon of course.

There were no elevators to take my bags up

The Bell is situated right in the middle of the town square and next to the bus station (or Travel Centre as they are now called). However it was very quiet as the window in our room was double glazed and we didn't hear much noise from the bar. There is a swipe in system to the bedrooms so only residents and staff have access to this area. We were too early for check-in but sat and eat an excellent lunch in the bar/restaurant. Check in was easy. There are a lot of bars and entertainment options around but it was very quiet and friendly.

No car parking at the Hotel, but there is a public carpark just behind the Hotel which charges. We had to leave early so missed breakfast (I am sure if we had mentioned it we could have had breakfast early but we didn't think of it at the time).

I enjoyed everything about my stay. The staff were attentive and welcoming. The room was surprisingly perfect. It was clean, modern and very comfortable. It had everything you’d expect imcluding hairdryer, iron/ironing board, shower gel, shampoo/conditioner, electric fan and functioning TV. Unfortunately I didn’t stay for breakfast so cannot comment on the food. I wanted to extend my stay but unfortunately they couldn’t accommodate me. I will definitely return.

The only one negative comment is that it is very noisey throughout the night but as the pub is in the middle of the square it’s inevitable although problem solved as soon as I closed the window. I’m a light sleeper anyway so I’d imagine it might not be a problem for others.

Although I had requested a room with a shower over bath when I booked 2 months ago I was emailed the night before our stay to say they had no rooms with showers over the bath and a few rooms with baths. I rang on the morning to check I had a room with a bath and was told no. I asked if it could be arranged after speaking to 3 different people it was sorted. When we got to the hotel the very very helpful girl on reception explained that the rooms with baths were on a higher floor with very steep stairs. This was not a problem and not only did we have a lovely large room with a super bathroom with a bath the bath had a shower over it. The room had superior tea bags and real coffee with a percolator. Not usual hotel fare.

Dinner stopping at 8.00. At dinner - they did not have 3 of the 5 desserts At breakfast - the service was very slow - they did not the ingredients for three of the breakfasts and the waterin the urn for teas and coffees was tepid.

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Great value for the money. Central location, easy to find in the centre of Aylesbury. Great evening meal and breakfast, plenty of choice.

Room was noisy at night, not sure if it was coming from kitchens, air conditioning unit or similar. Sounded as though we were on a boat below deck and sounded like the the noise of the engine!

Loved the location Loved the quirkiness Taxis right outside the door

Parking was a nuisance. Would have been nice if we could have paid the hotel a fee instead of having to go and put a pay and display ticket in car which didn't last our stay. We didn't have a promised hairdryer in the room. When we asked about this was told one would be put in our room later in the day. This didn't happen and when we asked we were told there wasn't a spare available with a shoulder shrug. Eventually after a further complaint one was found in another room. The room is advertised as having a hairdryer so it should have one.

The service was excellent room was also excellent with a Vue of the disabled car parking spaces outside the towns library where we parked our car as my partner is a disabled driver. We had a evening meal in the hotels restaurant. I had scampi with chips and my partner had mash peas and Cumberland sosugers each meal was first class we also had drinks from a very good selection to choose from. Our room was clean with on suite shower room with hand basin and toilet 🚻.

Just the breakfast as we never got a choice of how you wanted your eggs done or what other food was on offer it just turned up on a plate. Oh and when it did the beans where warm and fryed eggs where overcooked so the eggs where not runny.

It was a lovely place. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was great, it was clean, modern, spacious and comfortable. Had tea and coffee facilities, large television and huge walk in shower. Breakfast was really nice too. It is really close to all the shops, cinema and restaurants. You couldn't hear any noise from the bar downstairs or outside. Taxi cabs sit right outside, which was very handy to get to my location in the morning. I would definitely recommend.

The only little niggle we had was it was quite cold at night. I couldn't see on the air con panel any heating option but that could have just been me not working it right. I just turned the air con up to 30° which took the edge off it a bit.

Very central location, rooms were modern and clean. The surrounding location was very nice, and there were a number of restaurants and bars nearby. It was convenient for us as we were only in town for one night.

No dedicated car park, so worth noting that you will need to park in a public car park overnight. The hotel is on top of the ground-floor pub, although there was relatively little noise from that. There was some outside noise as a result of a food van parked up overnight serving food.

Staff very helpful and friendly. One of the managers changed our room at the last minute when she noticed we had been given a less suitable room. Nice comfortable and clean room with good refreshments left in room. Good food and good environment and very handy location for us.

The shower wasn't working brilliantly, it must have been blocked. It was usable but a lot of the water ended up on the bathroom floor. There was no close-up mirror, although you could see where there had been one attached to the wall. The menu could maybe be expanded over time, I appreciate they have only recently reopened after changing hands.
