The room, although small, was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was continental and included in the price. It was basic, but adequate for our needs. Full English breakfast was available, but we didn't try that option. The bus system to Sidmouth and Exmouth was really good, especially if one has a senior citizen's bus card, Every half hour and no bother with parking charges.

I have a small appetite and the vegetarian starters were not very good at all, but on the third evening I chose a small Mac and cheese from the main menu and that was perfect.

The staff were amazing, couldn't do enough for you. The room was comfortable, albeit with the minor issues below. Food was excellent, although I did not have time for the cooked breakfast. Check out was straight forward, and was only 10 minutes from where I was working. The location is stunning.

Whilst the room was comfortable, it could be considered a little bit dated. A few cobwebs around, but this was a minor issue and would not put me off staying again. Breakfast was served from 8-10am, however I was asked at 8.15 whether I would like a cooked breakfast. Having had to leave by 8.25 to ensure I arrived at my appointment on time, unfortunately I was not able to partake. That all being said, these are all very minor issues and I would definitely stay again.

6 of us travelled from London for a family funeral and what a little gem 💎 this place was, as soon as we arrived at the king's arms we was greeted with fantastic customer service, all went to our rooms and they was lovely, very clean spasious and had everything you needed, the price we paid for 2 nights was so worth it and this included breakfast which was AMAZING fresh, great portion size, hot and served with a smile. The staff was amazing couldn't do enough for us all they had great conversations with us always had a smile and nothing seemed to much at all for them, the manager was also lovely he had great banter again couldn't do enough for us always checked everything was ok we especially liked his greeting in the morning he was great at the breakfast orders 😊 honestly this place lovely, clean, comfy and the fact we literally had to come down the stairs and everything was there. We ate the first evening and it was absolutely gorgeous the food was fresh, hot great portions (well done chef) and again nothing was to much for the staff the customer service was spot on 👌🏻 I would recommend this place to anyone and we will definitely be back to stay 😊 Thankyou for a great stay the king's arms team it was one to remember 👍🏻 From the London Lovelies 😉

The location was perfect for going out an about. Frank and the staff were great from the minute we arrived. They were friendly and made us feel welcome. Always a welcome smile at the end of a long day out and about. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The room was clean and the four poster bed was very comfortable

The net curtains in the room had a couple of tears in them, which although only a minor thing, cheapened the room. The bathroom could do with a shelf to put toiletries on. At the time of booking we paid for breakfast to be included, but this did not include cooked breakfast which was not mentioned at the time of booking.

VERY good service and dogs are actively welcomed - this was lovely. I was told the bathroom shower door didn't close and they'd not been able to get the part. They gave me a free cooked breakfast to compensate which was a nice touch and very tasty! Lovely comfy bed!

There were some spiders webs under the wardrobe (probably hard to move). I'd have liked a convenient shelf in the bathroom to put my bits and pieces on. There was a noisy extractor fan from the kitchen near to the room which didn't get turned off at night. However it didn't stop me sleeping.

Constructive criticism only… Slightly tired in rooms eg net curtains ripped & window frames very worn. (understand old pub & all takes money) Morning lady at breakfast friendly but perhaps needs to be more chatty & forthcoming. Perhaps a language barrier? Also not nice to see staff smoking out the back… out of view would be best. Evening meal lovely & gentlemen with lots of tattoos (sorry didn’t get his name)very good, bubbly & upfront about possible waiting times. The meal came quite soon but far better to be warned just in case & then your pleasantly surprised.

lovely village pub. we had one of the more done up rooms with new bathroom and very comfortable super king bed.

it was just a continental breakfast whereas when we’d stayed previously it was full English. I’d booked a breakfast and assumed it was it was going to be a cooked one so that was disappointing. also the staff didn’t keep on top of things running out so I had to keep finding them to ask for more butter/hot water/ cups etc. they should keep checking everything was available to avoid customers having to ask. also could do with black out curtains in our room ( no. 15) as very thin curtains.

I was extremely disappointed having checked on checkin we had a reserved table in a quieter corner for dinner with our v elderly parents to find it had been given away and we were seated in the noisy bar under the TV! on my asking, we were then seated in the empty breakfast area - was fine and the waiter was brill but no atmosphere at all - the attitude of the staff on complaining was not acceptable- you guys let yourselves down on this occasion

We were made to feel very welcome which was refreshing as we had stayed with our two dogs! The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Our evening meal was beautifully cooked and delicious. Likewise breakfast was a good combination of cold buffet and tasty cooked breakfast, served promptly. Good quality ingredients are locally sourced. We appreciated our warm and comfortable room on return from a wintry walk, where we had a hot drinks tray & biscuits. Otterton is a peaceful and friendly village with plenty of dog walking routes and an excellent village shop. Parking off road was easy and convenient for accessing the private entrance with staircase to our room.

We would have appreciated a shelf/unit or chair in the bathroom to place wash kits on, as alternative to the floor!

The member of staff who checked us in was very friendly and welcoming. We came in an electric car, and even though they didn't have a dedicated charger (yet - one has been ordered and would arrive imminently), he was more than happy to provide a 13 amp socket that we could charge from, at no extra cost. Their food from the pub was very good, an extensive fish courses that we chose from and found delicious
