Helen and shaun was amazing if they wasn't there i think it would of bin dull and drab . Cause no other wanted to know us . Or they never understood english. 🙄

House keeping girl on the 3rd floor was very rude to my wife . As we was getti g ready for go out as it was our honeymoon she knocked the door at 930pm houseing instantly said do you want yr room servist i said about 5 mins please she said in a very rude and loud manner YES OR NO befor my wife could answer her ruddely she again demanded YES OR NO YES OR NO .

Had an upgrade on arrival to a dual aspect room which had lovely views of the garden and across the cricket field to the town. Immaculate hotel. Beautiful decor, spotless, gorgeous gardens, plenty of parking at all times. Staff all friendly and very helpful. Relaxed atmosphere. Hotel just across road from beach. Breakfast excellent. Pool at sister hotel next door is stunning.

The only one very small thing was that it was lovely weather during this stay, very hot and aircon in the bedroom would have been a wonderful bonus which would have made sleeping more comfortable. A fan was supplied which did help but it was very hot in the room. There was aircon in some of the other areas in the hotel which was very relaxing. This is just a very small point and I appreciate that we were lucky to gave such wonderful weather.

We returned to the Belmomt after 30 years. On our last visit we had our 3 children with us. We were pleased to see that little had changed the genteel atmosphere. The average age of the clientele is high but it was in term time. I wonder if they still do childrens teas and treasure hunts? The service is great and the staff are most friendly. The food is beautifully presented and cooked. Where else do you get starched white cloths and silver service these days and all to piano accompaniment. The situation is brilliant overlooking the sea and next to the cricket ground with the Victoria lido available for a dip in the pool I like the dress code for dinner so dont forget to take a jacket. Sidmouth is an upmarket resort and the Belmont is the jewel in the crown.

Please get rid of the plastic straws and move on (and back)to paper ones. The price of the cocktails is a bit steep

Location Brilliant. Staff fantastic, hotel beautifully clean. Rooms clean, modern and comfortable. Food exceptional. Stunning views.

TV in the rooms had a grainy picture. Not acceptable. HD is now the norm, but this was very 20th century. Not a single channel was what I would call HD. I didn't use the WIFI because it wasn't secure. The waiting staff were all wearing black masks. I found this very oppressive. I felt like I was in a hospital. All restrictions on masks were removed a fortnight ago, so why aren't these now voluntary amongst staff? I couldn't hear what they were saying, or see their facial expressions. We don't need reminding of the pandemic whilst we are on holiday.

My daughter Donna and I had a twin room with sea view, it was lovely. She was surprised to find the fruit basket and box of truffles were included in the room charges. Donna had never stayed in such a luxurious hotel and when we had dinner in the dining room the first night, she was rather overawed. I have been for coffee on a number of occasions, and one church fellowship luncheon. We had a lovely stay and would come back any time and obviously would recommend the hotel to others.

There was nothing to dislike, except that the trip was too short and I would have liked to stay longer. I also missed out on utilising your spa for a massage.

Coffee - needs a coffee machine rather than weak and lukewarmfilter coffee. I would have preferred a buffet style continental breakfast rather than having to request each item. These are tiny niggles as it was a marvellous place to stay.

The comfort in the room and the breakfasts, which were exceptional. Always well cooked and hot which is rare. We loved being served with it rather than buffet style The staff always went out of their way to help, were friendly but not overly so.

The balcony was a lovely feature bit needs updating - new flooring and the doors need repainting or replacing they are clearly old and weather beaten No gluten free cake in the afternoon - what a shame and I was surprised, it is usually served most places

The location, staff, facilities and building were spectacular. It was lovely to see maintenance being carried out which showed a real care in the property. Every member of staff was helpful, welcoming and professional. Perfect location on the beachfront and the spa facilities at the next door sister hotel were well kept and easy to access.

The hotel is comfortable, but with exception of the bathroom very old fashioned with small rooms for a high price. It seems also to be a hotel for very old people.

Very good location; near the sea and fairly central, but just far enough back to be quiet and private. Pleasant garden walk behind the building. Lovely breakfast- recommended. A large fan available in the room- needed it. Plenty of on site parking.

Relatively expensive hotel, especially if you are out most of the day. If you want a restful day, the lounge and view would be perfect.
