We loved everything about Morven Guest House. After 4 weeks of travel around the UK and Paris this accommodation was definitely our number one. We were greeted on arrival by Lisa who was so welcoming and helpful. Our rooms were just perfect and we couldn't fault a thing. They were bright, clean, quiet and comfortable. Lisa was the perfect hostess and booked us into local restaurants on both nights of our stay, which made it so easy not having to search for somewhere to go. Breakfast was an extensive range of choices and served so efficiently. We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend Morven Guest House to anyone who is looking to stay in Carnoustie.

The fact that we can't give this a higher rating than 10. It's just wonderful.

It is a beautiful house with rich history, refurbished thoughtfully to ensure comfort and needs of contemporary life, offering quiet and solace even though being close to city of Dundee. The views from the room are stunning, overlooking the town down below and sea on the horizon. As you enter the house, you are greeted with a sign ‘welcome to our home!’ which is indeed the case as this is where hosts Lisa and Graham live and they share their home with guests they host. Our interactions with Lisa were another highlight of this stay. Even before arrival, she sent us information about nearby restaurants for dinner. That was very thoughtful. Her warm and empathetic personality made us feel at home right away and her strive for perfection to ensure great experience for guests was palpable along every step of the way. She upgraded us to a family room because the room was still available. She mentioned that this is her approach especially if room is available because she wants her guests to have best stay possible. The family room on the top floor of the house really offers stunning views of the surrounding area. She enquired whether we needed tea or coffee on arrival and also when we returned from a delicious indian dinner at restaurant Ganges (10 minutes leisurely walk from the guest house, Lisa’s recommendation). We had several engaging conversations and exchanges with her. Breakfast was great, made with the same attention to detail. My wife had ordered porridge and Lisa wondered why she had not also opted for some fresh fruit to go with it. She insisted that fruits on the side will go nicely with the porridge which was indeed the case. During our two weeks of holidays in Scotland, we stayed at several BnBs, also in remote areas. We can confidently say that our stay at Morven House was the most memorable stays of them all, we look forward to returning here ourselves and spreading the word among our social and family circles. there is nothing that we did not like

Wonderful stay at Morven guest house with excellent hosts Lisa & Graham. & staff. Beautifully presented inside & out, with everything you need for a great stay. Sleep really well because of the excellent bed mattresses. Also the breakfast has to be one of the best I've had in a long time, great quality ingredients. We were up for a few games of golf & the location for the Carnoustie courses is just a short walk away. I would Highly recommend Morven guest house to anyone who is looking to stay in Carnoustie or the surrounding area.

This was probably the best Hotel/B&B I've stayed in. The staff were beyond exceptional. Extremely friendly and Reggie the dog tops it all. The breakfast was fantastic, for some of the days of our stay I had to leave early but as one of the options was for a takeaway breakfast, I was able to take a warm breakfast roll with me for those days and it was ready and waiting for when I left. The views from the location are also beautiful. All in all I would return again!

We stayed with these guys for a place to get our head down in-between fishing sessions...and this place does not disappoint! Welcomed upon arrival by Lisa, very polite, big smile!!!...nothing was to much for her...let us bring back some dinner for ourselves and even offered me a beer which was super but I fetched a few of my own and she had no issues atall with that, our rooms was spot on, beds was warm during the night, bathroom to which was needed after a days fishing in the cold, breakfast was bang on! Not to little and not to much and plenty of coffee!...Will be back again staying for next trip...this place is absolutely spot on! Thank you Lisa for making us more then welcome.

Wow exceptional house,lisa was a fantastic host nothing was to much trouble ,lisa gave us extra towels to dry hubby's golf clubs which was greatly appreciated, our room was magnificent couldn't fault a thing pure perfection all round,lisa also gave us recommendations for dinner too plenty of places to eat within walking distance breakfast was fantastic also ,you won't be disappointed we will definitely be back.

Everything was perfect in every way. From the greeting I received as I arrived to the ambience of the property, the owners and staff were welcoming, even when I came back each day from visiting family in Carnoustie and friends nearby. The breakfast was very tasty, plentiful and great choice. The room was perfect too, everything supplied, including wifi which was important to me to be in touch with my family in Australia. The view from the hotel grounds to the whole of Carnoustie was breathtaking. My family and I stayed there 60 years ago when I was a child and the hotel has been greatly updated, it was now better than then. Wonderful stay at the Morven.

There was nothing which could be bettered. I can't imagine anyone finding fault with the Morven.

The house sits proudly high above the town but within walking distance. It was easy to reach local shops, restaurants , the beach and the golf course and facilities. There is ample garden and parking space. Lisa was an excellent hostess who greeted us warmly on our arrival and saw to all of our needs throughout our stay. The hotel’s public areas and our bedroom were well decorated and beautifully cared for. Lisa was very organised in finding out our breakfast requirements, offering a full range of breakfast options which were excellently prepared.

Breakfast was great with good varieties and fruits were so fresh, exceeding my expectations. Lisa was very warm and friendly, and attentive to details. She went out of her way to help me with luggage loading and unloading too. It was a good homy feeling when the family live on site. Highly recommended for traveling golfers because I've learned all men in this family are good golfers too, if you are interested in related topics for discussion.

The hot/cold water faucets for the bathroom sink are the old fashioned type without a mixture. TV could be a bit bigger.

One of the best hotel experiences I've had. A welcoming owner, immaculately presented accommodation, and a delicious breakfast. Fascinating views of the west side of the town and beyond to the golf courses. Bed very comfortable; area generally very quiet.

I found the shower cubicle a bit on the small side (I'm used to showering in a wide bath), but on the plus side, the private shower / WC room was very clean and well provisioned. The toilet took some persuasion to flush every time, but we got there in the end!
