Carnoustie Golf Hotel 'A Bespoke Hotel’

Breakfast had everything we required. We visited the Rookery for dinner and not a patch on the Hotel, Hotel evening meal/service very good. We have visited the hotel several times and all the staff are great and look after you.

Room size ok by very tired. Robes hard to the touch so was not worn. Would appreciate a better light in the bathroom as ceiling lighting cast shadows particularly if you are a female trying to do makeup and hair. There was a mirror and a hook for hair dryer that was situated by the bed but the light was poor. Also blow drying hair by the bed is not great.

You knew I was starting from my home address in Glasgow so why did you send me to Edinburgh to pick up car ,which was 1 hour 30 minutes from destination I can drive straight there in 1 hour 40 minutes You saud the rental was £40 it was £160 Your company cost me ££s and made my travel longer I feel you ripped me off with your booking suggestions I left it to yous because you supposed to onow best and cheapest way You ripped me off

Location was very good, positioned at the end of golf course and close to the beach and sea. Bedrooms very comfortable and quiet. I am coeliac and a decent range of gluten free meal choices.

Would have liked more availability at for spa bookings once resident rather than having to book in advance. Generally would have preferred not to have to book meals - dinner and breakfast in advance. Would have preferred more butter being available at breakfast on the table rather than having to ask for more daily. Didn't like the sticky feel on tables presumably caused by cleaning materials.

Receptionist was extremley pleasant and proffesional and her explanation of the facalities dining area and bar were excellent. We enjoyed the bar area and the evening dinner in the Calders Bistro was good and the service was excellent considering there wasn't many staff on. Breakfast was very enjoable and well presented. There was also a little incident where the lift failed to open with an elderley couple trapped inside on the ground floor for a short period of time when my friend and I assisted the receptionists to eventually get the doors open using the emergency keys. The birthday gesture was extremley appreciated

The toilet/flush in room 134 didn't stop running after use not sure what was wrong with it.

The pool was great lovley and warm. The Room was very clean and spacious very comfortable.

The diningroom looks lovley bit of a let down at Dinner . My Grandson had Couchions and they were very well done to the point of saying burnt. I had the battered fish when cut in too it was very greasy. I told a member of staff but nothing was done. At Breakfast time we waited 40 mins after ordering breakfast, I appreciate they were busy but in my opinion that is ridiculous, when I noticed people been served their breakfast before us having entering the diningroom after us. I would say the Diningroom was a bit of a let down.

Absolutely fantastic staff. Incredibly helpful, courteous and kind. Five star service from everyone from the receptionists to the room cleaners. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and most important in the winter, very warm. Amazing huge double glazed windows that open right up for a view to the sea or the golf course. Comfortable bed and great TV! Location is excellent - the sea and a beautiful beach is about one minute walk away. The Carnoustie Station is about ten minutes away. Really wish we had stayed far longer!

The breakfast were limited as we stay in different hotels in Scotland and have had better selection The dinner, very good and and a good selection how every felt the allocated amount of £25 pounds was on the low side. Room was airy clean with a lovely view. The staff over all were excellent, very friendly

WE were disappointed with the time it took to clear tables in the lounge area and the floor was covered in crisps on one occasion.

Food was great. Staff were exceptional. The setting was perfect. Great kids play area nearby and the public putting green outside the restaurant was perfect for entertaining the kids.

The bar area was often overflowing with used glasses. It's the only negative point I can come up with, but it was a bit off putting when you're stood trying to order and there's 50 used coffee cups / pint glasses etc covering most of the bar.

The hotel and staff were very very helpful and friendly, Dinner service by Graham, (I think) was exceptional, he went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. Breakfast was equally good and plentiful. This is a hotel we would very highly recommend to any one going to this area.

There is nothing we didn't like, however the disabled room really needs to have a 'wet room' style bathroom, as it really is vital for wheelchair dependant travellers.

The staff was always friendly. The food at breakfast time was excellent with plenty choice. The food at night for dinner was excellent aswell. The view from our room looking out onto Golf Coarse was lovely..

The pool could get busy with children and parents which didnt leave much room for Adults needing to use pool to swim..As it was a nice nice pool for swimming in lane and was nice and warm.. Maybe Hotel needs to look into Children only times. So adults could get quiet time for swimming...
