Very easy access from the motorway, this pub B&B offered a warm welcome with some pleasant surprises. First, the bedroom was quite large ( we overlooked the carpark to the rear and the drive way in.) and included a super bathroom. Secondly our evening meal was of a high quality and served by very competent staff. Breakfast the next day was also good. though the tea selection was not to my liking. No problem for me as I travel with my Yorkshire tea bags for such an occasion.. We stayed for only one night as a transit stopover between Hungerford and Stratford upon Avon and it turned out to be better than I expected. We have no hesitation in recommending this venue.

Excellent location, literally two minutes off the M4. Superb room (I had the small double), beautifully comfortable bed, attractive wallpaper , luxury bathroom with beautiful range of shampoo, body wash etc and a fantastic shower. It was comfortable and felt like a home from home. I had my elderly but well behaved cat with me and was so relieved to find somewhere that would accommodate him. The Dyson fan in the corner was very welcome as it was a particularly hot and stuffy night. The welcome I got and the kindliness of the staff were exemplary. Will definitely stay there again.

I didn’t have the breakfast because I was on a room only deal and it would have cost £15 which I didn’t consider value for money and I’m on a very tight budget . If had I gone for a deal which included breakfast though, this wouldn’t have been an issue.

Room airy and well furnished, very clean, bed comfy. Good provision of snacks both complimentary and purchasable available in the room. Breakfast was wonderful, all staff we interacted with were friendly, professional and helpful, and went above and beyond to meet our needs. Evening meal was to a very high standard, vegetarian food option was full of flavour and beautifully presented. A senior family member requested a smaller portion of their meal option which was accommodated without hesitation.

Our room was affected with movements of other guests/staff easily heard, especially the door nearby the room which particularly was loud each time someone used it (earplugs might be an idea). The sockets are positioned very oddly within the room, so not the most convenient when wishing to use the kettle. The ensuite is nicely sized, excellent shower, though the corner of sink is very close to you when using the lavatory, and rounded basin would overcome that issue. Be careful of the slope as you enter the bar area, it's not obvious until you have stumbled on it.

I have stayed many times before and always reaches my expectations. The bedrooms are well decorated and the beds are beautifully comfortable.

The most frustrating element of the whole experience is down to Youngs Brewery telephone answering system which frustrates not only guests but staff too.Its ridiculous that you can't just phone the Pheasant , speak to a human being and ask a question..such as " Do you have an electric car charging point" as my friend tried to do. Please go back to a friendly ,efficient human picking up the phone!! I really think this would put some people off the place and that's such a shame.

Not much in the immediate surrounding area - however perfect for my purpose as it is located down the road from the office I was visiting. Plenty of parking, the room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Food was brilliant. Many Thanks, Lauren

Would have been nice to have a little more choice on the menu that was not Fish, however the burger was excellent. Would have been nice to have the furniture rearranged so that there was a plug or an extension lead to complete some work at the desk.

Food, Staff, Facilities Amazing, Good Wifi and add on amenities in the room. Lot's of parking and 5 minute drive from our goal location. Never had an issue at this location and been back a couple of times now.

nothing to dislike on my end - for some rooms they have a sloping roof which may put off some individuals. Wasn't really an issue for me but other than this everything was good. Prices have gone up since first booked though and breakfast can be a bit steep.

Outstanding staff, Ben and Catherine and the lovely blonde girl on her way to Uni.....Olivia? Amazing customer service. The food was GREAT, thanks to Ben and the other chef whose name we have unfortunately forgotten!! Seriously lovely food, beautifully cooked fish, inventive vegetarian options, and gorgeous breakfast. Just great all around and wonderful, friendly and kind staff. They even noticed my newfound love for the Scotch Egg and bought me one for the flight out. Comfortable bed with great pillows and linens, fluffy robes and towels, and a Dyson air-cooling fan. All details thoughtful and of quality fabrics. Maybe something more than Nescafe packet coffee? But otherwise a real treat, and cannot say enough about the staff. Loved the fact that lighting was wall sconces, not overheads!!

The ambience and food were excellent , as always

Our reception left a lot to be desired. We are regular visitors over several years. The welcome this time was dour, and we were shown to a tiny room with a single, very small, high window (15?). When we expressed dissatisfaction with this , we were given a lovely room (7). As the hotel did not seem to be at all full, we couldn't understand why we were not given the usual standard of room in the first place .

Beautiful dog-friendly room with direct access to the outside areas. Very well appointed room, comfy bed and lovely bathroom. Food was delicious both at dinner (porchetta Sunday roast) and breakfast (great variety of cold options, excellent cooked breakfast, nice music and even a toaster that actually turned the toast brown). Wonderful all-round hospitality provided by professional but friendly staff. We will be back!

Can't think of anything!

Location ideal for M4 travellers with easy access from motorway, ample safe parking, yet country setting. Excellent restaurant, great breakfast and friendly, very helpful staff. Room on small size, but remarkably quiet and very comfortable ( except for position of electric plugs, see below ).

Position of electric plugs in bedroom. None near full length mirror, nor adjacent to kettle, tea/coffee cups, for example. Ladies wishing to dry hair in front of mirror with hair dryer, can’t! Kettle has to be boiled on the floor!
