The location is stunning with plenty of beautiful walks to enjoy from the doorstep! The staff were super friendly, professional and helpful - just perfect. The breakfast and the service on the Sunday morning was delightful - super attentive, welcoming and relaxing....and the breakfast itself was delicious!

The room could do with a better clean as a couple of unspotted cobwebs and think the kitchen had an off-day with us on the Saturday night. The Pot Kiln is typically AMAZING but our dining fell short on this occasion. Still lovely, just not the usual WOW.

The lady who booked us in was AMAZING, I'm so sorry I can't recall her name. She couldn't do enough for us for whatever we asked for. We had to leave before their breakfast time but they made us a plate of croissants with jam and butter the night before and they were lovely. The rooms were stunning and very comfortable. We stayed and had dinner and the food was fantastic. We took dogs with us and they loved it too!

Something very minor, but just a shame there wasn't a tv in the rooms.........but not enough to make it sound like a negative comment.

Rocky and team gave us a very warm welcome. Very friendly from the minute we walked through the door into the cosy little bar, to when we left. Bar and eating area (with real fire), plus rooms, are warm, cosy and comfy, perfect for a winter escape. Lovely remote setting. We had the best meal we've had in years (we'd begun to think nowhere cooked high quality "real" home cooked food any more!). Proper, full of taste, food, decent size portions, with emphasis on quality game, meat and fish/seafood and good veg. Great beer and good wines. So different from the same-everywhere, mass produced stuff being served in nearly every other pub and restaurant in England now. The Pot Kiln's food is higher priced than run of the mill pubs' (overpriced) food, but it's worth paying more for the superb quality and taste. The atmosphere is so relaxed that customers/guests actually talk to each other! We especially enjoyed the company of a lovely couple revisiting from the US, who knew the local area better than us!, and seeing a young adult enjoying his birthday meal evening. A place best suited to adults (and teens/young adults) who enjoy eating meat/game and who are happy to choose from a small, traditional, based on season and availability, menu. The music events look worth attending too.

Could have done with a little more lighting outside (we arrived in the dark and at first thought the Sat Nav had taken us to someone's home). The Pot Kiln sign is above the front door (no pub type hanging sign as you approach) - and we couldn't, at first, see where to park. Worth taking a torch in winter, especially if staying overnight.

2nd time staying here. The greeting and friendly staff make all the difference. Clean bright bedroom with excellent en suite. I have now stayed in the main building and the annex (situated a few steps away in the vegetable garden). Both times the rooms excelled comfort along with beautifully comfy bed. Breakfast and dinner are sublime. The dinner menu offers local produce and I can say the 2 meals I have had were delicious. Breakfasts were perfect. (Wait till you try the toasted bread).

Breakfast was amazing and freshly cooked while you had coffee/juice and lovely fresh toasted bread. One of the best cooked breakfasts we've ever had! We ate in the restaurant and it was amazing, my husband had the venison and I had the hot salmon fishcake both were freshly cooked to order and didn't disappoint! Sweets were lovely, apple tart and sticky toffee pudding :) very nice atmosphere and friendly hosts.

The food was excellent! I had dinner in the restaurant both nights, and it was wonderful. The location is beautiful and very quiet.

There was no service of my room, which I didn't expect. NOT the hotel's issue, but the drive to and from it down very narrow country lanes was a bit hair raising at times! I wouldn't like to do it in the dark or when weather conditions were not good.

Lovely quiet and quaint setting, food choices looked lovely, private rooms in the grounds, very relaxed atmosphere, rural feel with the sounds of wildlife included in the morning, it’s away from hustle and bustle

No TV in the room, no air con or fan in the room, a desk or flat work surface in the room would be handy (there was a very thin table for the tea and coffee tray), small shower, very secluded

Location and being perfect for me and my dog with easy access to a garden and surrounding countryside. obviously a newly established addition to the accommodation everything was in perfect order from the decor, bed to the soft fluffy towels. food was also excellent.

the wifi didn’t reach this new accommodation so had to rely on hotspot with phone to watch my bring your own tv . breakfasts not served until 9am so early risers not automatically catered for albeit the staff made me up a cold breakfast on request to have in the room overnight.

Breakfast was amazing! One of the best cooked ones I’ve had in a while. Room was toasty despite being frosty outside.

Had to call pub upon arrival as there was no one to greet us but someone was soon there after. Room was only prepared for one person however this was soon sorted by a member of staff. In the future maybe ask the guest how many are staying so the room is ready before the guest(s) arrive.

A serene, relaxing, pristine accommodation, in beautiful surroundings. Love the fact that are no TVs in the bedrooms, simplicity, peace, understated luxury. The restaurant is superb. Even before we checked in, we discussed our intention to come back, and have booked for our wedding anniversary in December. And all the team there are chilled, professional, and attentive, without being intrusive.

Nothing.
