I loved every bit of my stay here! This was hands down the best travel experience I’ve ever had!!! It was EXCELLENT and could not have been any better, what a special gem in the heart of New York City!! I will be staying here again and telling everyone I know about Interfaith Retreats who visit New York- YOU MUST STAY HERE FOR THE BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES AND EXPERIENCE!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! :) And a huge plus is that you can even volunteer to help feed the homeless- this is a wonderful organized place with a mission and proceeds from your stay can benefit those in need so not only do you get memories for yourself, but you are also getting to pay it forward and make a difference in people’s lives who live locally in New York. What a place, it completely exceeded my expectations!!! <3

There is a nice communal area with free fruit and basic breakfast. The location is great, very close to Penn station. The staff is very friendly and they really try their best to keep the place tidy.

The rooms are very small of course. The bed is narrow and a bit shorter than what I am used to. They use a (plastic?) mattress cover that traps your body heat, I woke up with a sweaty back. I suppose it's useful for hygienic purposes, but it is not very comfortable. There are really many rooms on a small surface, you won't enjoy this place if you suffer from claustrophia. I suppose you get what you pay for.

Property is very clean, rooms are all I needed, pillows comfortable, shower privacy perfect and toilets always clean. Management are delightful and very responsive. Location unmatched. I stayed at west side ymca and it was awful and when I saw that I could stay here, I’ll never ever book ymca again. This is a wonderful property.

Property is fantastic. For NYC, if you want an affordable accommodation, this is perfect. Some things to note: - it’s small rooms but there is a common area - roof is shared but bring headphones and it’s a non issue - there are stairs

LOCATION is unbeatable, Penn Station is just nearby. It's faster to just walk to Empire State Building than to take a sub. I know where I'm staying the next time! Love the spiritual books and posters everywhere. This place has a spirit.

I love cabin hostels, but usually, they are quieter and have bigger common spaces for meeting other people. This is the most compact of them all. And walls are typical US paper, so be prepared to hear everybody around you and feel floor shaking when somebody walks the corridors. But that doesn't mean it's bad. It's a great experience and staff is the best :)

Professional and Friendly staff and international travelors; nice common area Great for solo travelers who are out for most of the day. The net proceeds go to great causes like providing food and compassion for those in the city that less fortunate. I volunteered there one morning and was real impresed and touched by the experience

The Interfaith staff was wonderful and extremely communicative! They were very pleasant when I asked for an extra pillow in my Notes section prior to checking in. And then very amenable when I asked for one of them to be replaced. It feels very safe and it's wonderful for solo travelers.

I learned that this kind of stay is not my cup of tea. I'm a light sleeper and generally, having someone else snoring in the room will keep me up. Magnify that by 12. The walls are thin enough that I can hear my neighbors eating snacks in their cubicle. Which is generally fine, except when it's 4am and they've just come in from their night. The situation was not for me, though for others it'll be perfect. I'd still highly recommend Interfaith!

This is a very central NYC accommodation, 5 walking minutes away from Pennsylvania Station. If you love the Chelsea area and you’re traveling on a budget, this may be right choice for you. The staff is courteous, the place is tranquil and the location is well connected.

Be aware though, this is a hostel with really tiny individual cubicles which are not acoustically isolated, the ceilings being open but for a light wooden grid. It’s okay for a night or two, but if you stay for longer it can get a bit annoying claustrophobic. There is no place to have a phone call at night but the staircase...

A wonderful wonderful stay! Staff are amazing and so helpful with anything from needing earphones ( I’m a light sleeper), extra towels, directions or borrowing umbrella. Love the help yourself fruit bowl… showers are clean and hot! Towels are soft and fluffy. Tea and coffee on tap! The location is superb… Empire state building just a block or so behind us - stunning. 7-11 next door for late night munchies!!! Perfect for solo travellers. Staying here made my holiday so amazing. Oh and they are 2 mins from Penn st subway too! What rose do you want?!!!! 😜👏🏽x

Can be noisy at night with guests but I’m a very light sleeper and headphones worked well for me x

The staff was , without exception, friendly, kind and efficient. The location is convenient to all of mid Town, numerous subway stops and Penn Station. The area is full of great little neighborhood eateries. The facility was kept very clean, bed was comfy and it was incredibly quiet, especially considering this is a basic pod hotel with dividing walls that do not extend to the ceiling. Interfaith is a really great value. But please understand before you book what type of accommodation this is. It is a pod with shared facilities. It is very basic but clean and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend it.

Not so much a "didn't like" as a caveat. The stairs are quite steep and, I suspect, would be hard to manage with large/heavy luggage or for anyone mobility impaired. Also, if you are a chronic snorer, this is not the place for you...they clearly state this, and please believe it.
