Chelsea Rooms NYC

I would definitely recommend this accommodation for a short visit. I have only spent 4 night in NYC and it was my first visit ever, but I was really happy with my choice. The stuff was really helpful and friendly - if you had a question about the city or some problem they were happy to help out. The location is great, because many main attractions are in the walking distance (like Empire State building, Times Square, broadway theaters and etc.) Also if you are coming from the airport, there is Pennsylvania Station (or Penn Station) really close. So it is easy to reach and to find. There weren't many options for breakfast but you could still get some cereal, fruits or toasts. I especially liked that each room had a unique design (The name of some attraction and specifically painted wall inside). My room was really neat and clean, as were common showers and toilets. And you can also get a hairdryer at the reception.

If you get a room that faces the street, it might be difficult to sleep at night as it is quite noisy. The heater in my room was a bit noisy and it was rather hot. Also there was a proplem with my card (issued in Austria) - i wasn't able to pay with it at the hotel so I had to find an ATM and withdraw some cash.

the location is ideal, even though the neighborhood is not the cutest, it is still safe. the room and shared bathrooms were extremely clean and neat. we had a good A/C in the room + a fridge + a safe. we were able to check in very early in the morning, have a room right away and even have access to the breakfast!

the breakfast is very very very simple. Industrial toasts and peanut butter or cereals and milk. the first day I had coffee and then I did not have coffee even if we arrived at 9am and the breakfast was open from 8-11am. the breakfast room is actually the “lobby” which is a very small crowded room

location can't be beat--a few blocks from the High Line--and some rooms are very quiet; even rooms on 8th ave are pretty quiet at night.

my booking.com conf said "1 Small Double or Twin Room," and i ended up in a bunk bed room w/ no sink. owner claimed that booking.com has changed some reservations from single to bunk bed before, and i thought i'd booked a single. idk; i'd stay there again but contact the mgmnt immediately aft er booking to confirm the room choice. little things have changed with the new management: no more hand towels in the WCs. office opens 8am [coffee!]. :-)

Shared toilet and bathroom

It was very clean, small, and good location. Only a few blocks from the subway station. Good value! Rachel at the front desk was great and always responded to our messages. Shared bathrooms were still private! Not like a dorm or public shower. About 10 rooms per floor and 2 showers and two toilets. We never ran into anyone while we were there, but we were mostly around the rooms for late night after a long day of walking around. showered at night as to avoid a morning rush.

The Hotel was great all in all- an all you can eat breakfast was provided and had various options of spreads, and beverages. The room was super cute and comfy, the showers (although shared) were comfortable, the staff was helpful and the hotel felt safe.

The street leading up to the hotel and the area in general felt unsafe at night as a solo female traveler, plus the entrance to the hotel was unmarked and unclear, so it took me some time getting there at first.

I stayed there for two nights. The owners are very nice and helpful people and it was safe inside. The room itself was small but very comfortable and clean and there's also some breakfast and whole day coffee/tea (which is very nice). Bathroom was also clean. The only minus are stairs but only when u have creepy big&heavy suitcase as I had (thankfully the guy helped me with it).

You get a nice room for your budget. The bathroom and toilet were shared, but very clean. Good central location close to Penn station for an easy travel to/from the Newark airport by train and for visiting all sites in Manhatten. Breakfast was okay (some toast, cereals and coffee).

The host was very helpful and easy to join. We had no troubles during our stay and the location is perfect to enjoy NYC.

Not much to say. Bathrooms and restrooms are in common but we never had troubles to use them. 8th avenue can be crowdy so the rooms might be noisy.

Amazing front of desk staff and amazing location! Really a great value for money, this will be my go to place for staying at all my future NYC trips !! Amazing room and amazing hostel on the whole

Size and cleanliness of the toilets was slightly below amazing but still I would rate it (6/10) but they are still usable and okay
