The Gotham Hotel

Lots of restaurants near by and subway options. Many fun NYC things in walking distance and good places next door for coffee. I had a room with balcony which sounds great but it faced other buildings with no view and I never went out there. The hotel was quiet, has a restaurant with bar and the staff were super nice. Bed was comfortable, rain shower was hot and they let you take $10 a day from the mini bar for the suspicious NYC "resort" fee most hotels charge. Walk to Uncle Paul's Pizza, Hatsuhana sushi or get breakfast from Mama Jo's breakfast cart on E 47th St. All really good and inexpensive.

The AC unit in my room was REALLY loud.

I loved the location! So close to many popular sites. The room was large and clean. The bath towels were so soft & absorbent and the blow dryer was the best. Very spacious bathroom. The mini bar was well stocked. Loved the Nespresso coffee machine. I can say we would stay there again. Staff was very polite and the hotel was quiet.

The room was on the dark side. No light above the mini bar or on the end of room with the bar. The phone did not work so we had to go down twice for batteries to the TV remote (the first set didn't work). Our balcony didn't look like any in the pictures. It looked over an alley. I wish there had been a comfortable side chair & table.

Great room that was perfectly located for our little NY vacation!! The staff was very friendly and helpful with both checking in and checking out being a breeze. The bed was comfortable and the room was much larger than expected. We ate breakfast in the lobby and their food was excellent with a variety of hearty ooptions. We will definitely stay here again!

They didn't have very good in room coffee, but you could easily grab a quick cup from the restaurant off of the lobby.

I liked that it was small with only three rooms per floor. I never heard anyone around us. I appreciated the constant ac fan for white noise and ability to open a window or sit on the balcony. It was our first time to NYC and everyone said our hotel would be loud but it was really quiet facing the back of the hotel.

The room was a little tight for for our luggage. we had to maneuver it by the balcony door which wasn’t ideal. The lobby is very basic with little if any flair, but I did appreciate having someone at the desk at all hours of the night. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed so there wasn’t a place to meet up with our friends and relax at the hotel. The balcony outside was really cool, but a firepit or heaters would have been nice to enjoy it more than a few minutes.

The Gotham Hotel is an absolute gem in Manhattan! From the moment we arrived until the day we departed, we were blown away by the exceptional service and hospitality of every single employee. Each interaction left us with a smile on our faces and a feeling of being truly cared for. The location of the hotel is simply unbeatable. Being within walking distance to so many places and close to the subway made exploring the city a breeze. Even with a broken ankle on our New York trip, the staff (Donte, Anna, Adel, Ilda…to name a few, I’m sure I’m missing some), went above and beyond to make sure I had ice every day when we returned to the hotel. They even anticipated my needs and offered to send ice to the room based on my routine – talk about attentiveness! On our final night, when we encountered a room lockout situation, the staff's response was outstanding. Instead of making us wait while they resolved the issue, they upgraded us to a better room and generously allowed us to enjoy anything we wanted from the bar. It's these thoughtful gestures that truly set The Gotham Hotel apart from the rest. If you're planning a trip to Manhattan, look no further than The Gotham Hotel. The level of service, the prime location, and the genuine care they show for their guests make it the ultimate place to stay. Highly recommended!

I don’t have any complaints

Bed was comfy and a really good size. Location was great, close to Grand Central, Times Square, clothes shopping and Bryant Park (loved going there to have breakfast in the morning). Decent amount of food places are around. Handy having the water fountain in reception to fill our water up. Hotel staff were friendly. Had a really yummy breakfast in the restaurant in the hotel too!

Slightly misleading about the "fitness centre". Thought the gym would be in the building but was told "it's a couple blocks away" - it's actually a 10min walk away. Room service was very expensive - got charged $15 for a plate of fries!

Great location. Close to Grand Central Station. Close to Rockefeller Center. Very walkable to many of the sights. There were several public balconies, but the weather was too cold to take advantage of these areas. The front desk staff was helpful and courteous.

We were on the back side of the hotel which was quiet, but there was no view even with the balcony. Also, the only chair in the room was a desk chair. I would have enjoyed a lounge chair, as we returned to the hotel early one night with dinner from a street vendor. It would have been great to have another place to sit beside the bed.

One of the best hotel experience i ever had. I get to travel quick a bit, around 3 times a year so i get to stay at different hotels. The Gotham Hotel is one of the best if not the best hotels i ever had the pleasure of staying at. The midtown location is close to everything, 7 min walk from times square, 4 min from grand central. The room ia beautiful and quite. The balcony is an extremely nice addition to the overall atmosphere. The shower is clean and the water pressure is perfect. I would like to take this opportunity to name Delvis and D'Angelo how where amazing throughout my stay and Ana and David who where wonderful at checkout. This team really upgraded the stay which was perfect to begin with. This hotel is the best hotel i ever stayed in while in NYC, and definitely a go to for when i return next time!

The location is amazing and the bed and pillows really comfortable. The rooms are a good size for New York, tastefully decorated and clean and had everything we needed We would stay again.

We paid for a room with a balcony and really it was a waste, I didn't expect much of a view I expected the balcony to be perhaps over a busy street. However it was surrounded on all sides by walls with noisy fans in the space. There was not even a street view, it was not somewhere you would want to sit, but did cone in useful for drying my umbrella on the day it rained. The other issue was the coffee machine, it was lovely and the coffee was free but you only got 2 capsules and 2 paper cups and these weren't replaced, you had to request when required which wasn't ideal as I like a coffee when I come in from a night out. In the grand scheme of things these are small issues so don't let them put you off.

Very well located hotel and you can reach any top places such as Rockfeller center, Summmit one Vanderbilt, Grand Central Terminal, Bryant Park, Empire State building on foot in 10-20'. I requested a quiet room and it was quiet facing the courtyard without any view but at least it was quiet. With the airfan you can hear some noises but it was OK. We requested a baby cot and it was already there when we enter the room, however no linens fit for the baby cot nor towels. However, when requested, they provided the additional towels. In general, very good hotel.

It's a pity that you don't have linens for the baby cot but we did manage by using the towel as a blanket.
