The Jewel Hotel, New York

We were in town for a wedding on Saturday June 25. Everything about this hotel was amazing! The location, centrally located by Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Plaza, so convenient. The staff was so friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in the door. Check-in was effortless. The room was clean and neat, bed was very comfortable. Room was very quiet, we were able to sleep without hearing any noise from the rooms next to us or in the hallway. Little area in the room with a microwave, coffee maker and a small refrigerator was a nice touch. Beautiful lounge area on our floor with a big screen tv, couches, a coffee maker available for all guests was great in the morning when I needed a coffee! Check out was at 12, it was also effortless. The staff couldn't have been nicer! We will definitely stay at the Jewel again next time we visit Manhattan.

Please don't change a thing! Our stay was excellent.

Espresso/coffee machine in the second floor lounge was a huge bonus. There were also tea and bottles of water you could take with you. First room we had was small and dark but we were able to transfer into a larger, brighter room for the last two nights of our stay. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Courtyard rooms are very dark.

Loved the central location So close to subway and Rockerfella Centre Being there for the Christmas tree lighting just literally outside the door of hotel was the icing on the cake for my trip Emanual (probably spelt his name wrong )was extremely kind and helpful and nothing was a problem to him and all the staff He booked us a taxi on last day to airport and found the best possible deal for us . Free Tea/Coffee machine on 2nd floor was devine Gym ,washing machine/dryer and vending machine on 5th ideal also. We also had a balcony and we would pop out to see the huslte and bustle on streets below. We were in room 1101. Mind you after being out all day sightseeing all we wanted was our extremely comfy bed .

No breakfast room.. But we improvised by eating in Toasties 51st Street just across from St Patricks Cathedral and in other delis around the area...no shortage of them .

location is right across the street from Rockefeller square. coffee in room and good espresso machine in community room. water bottle and filling station on every floor. complementary pack in play. in person communication with associates was courteous, helpful, and kind.

cleaning not done daily and when it was done it didn’t seem much cleaner, like no clean sheets. I’d recommend not catching a cab on 51st outside the hotel as it took a long time to get off the street many times - just walk to 5th or 6th and hail one. communication prior to stay was not easy and frustrating. description of bathroom wasn’t too descriptive when wanting to find out if it was a bathtub for my infant, not a big deal at all.

Everything about the hotel was great, especially for the price. It's located opposite the Rockerfeller Centre, so its perfect location for getting around either on foot or by the subway.. Coffee machine and small fridge in room Free cold bottled water is available on each level All the staff we're very welcoming and friendly. .

This was my third visit to NY and overall I had a great experience as always, just a couple of things to mention. The cost of food n drink is extremely expensive at the moment , make sure you ask the price before you buy. Also you will smell Cannabis everywhere you go as its now legal in NY ( great if you like it but not so nice if you don't)

I have stayed recently at several hotels in Midtown Manhattan, and the Jewel really stood out for quality and details. I arrived very early and the staff were great about finding me a place to change, leave my bags, have a free coffee in the lounge and be ready for check in. I liked the details, they have free coffee, tea, cold water and use of computers on the 2nd floor. Then they had a DIY laundry set up, with a clothes washer and dryer, and soap powder - just what I needed on a long trip. In the bedroom, there was even a yoga mat in the cupboard. Staff were great, location is very convenient (near the E train), and attention to your needs. Highly recommended.

It would be good to have a recycling system available. Plastic and bottles, it would be helpful to have a place to put recyclables rather than in the waste paper basket.

Location is about as good as you can get for a general trip to New York - it is yards away from 5th Avenue and up near the top were the main stores are located (e.g., the Lego store is on the corner) - it is also opposite the Rockefeller Centre which is a very "nice" facility with good security, a decent range of restaurants and eateries and easy access to the subway. Would recommend it for anyone on a first trip to NYC as it can feel quite daunting and certainly the area around the hotel felt a lot safer than when I have stayed nearer to Times Square.

The room itself was "fine" - it was clean but felt pretty basic, I would put it akin to a premier inn room in the UK. There are drinking water dispensers on each floor which are handy (especially given how expensive everything is in NY with even a regular bottle of water costing about £3) but it would have been great to have a small fridge in the room to store other drinks or to keep the water cold.

Perfect location in NYC, short walk to most main attractions and nearby to Subway. Our room on the small side but clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Despite the small hotel entrance and lobby area friendly, helpful staff were always on hand. The included guest amenities including the lounge with complimentary coffee, water dispensers and the laundry room are great features and were very useful during our stay!

A minor point but some areas of the hotel felt a little 'dark and tired' and could use refurbishment - some minor modernisation would make this the best spot to stay for a NYC city break!

super nice and helpful staff, the rooms are nice and spacious and there is a living room with free coffee on the second floor. There is also water fountains at every floor so you can fill in your water bottles.

The location is great, you are close to all the main attractions. The subway is 2 minutes away, bus station likewise. The room is quite spacious, but is long and narrow, so you squeeze between the bed and the TV. There is a facility at 2nd floor where you can make your own coffee, use a pc, refill a water bottle. Actually, there is a water refiller at every floor.

The bed is too small for 3 people (actually 2 adults and one 10 year old). There was a lot of room for a wider bed, but I don't know why they went with a queen sized one. Yes, I have paid for a triple room and that's what they gave me. It can be loud sometimes in the night, even though the window is on a street not avenue.
