Holiday Inn Express - Houston - Galleria Area, an IHG Hotel

The overall design of the hotel was nice and modern. Very clean and the bed was super comfy. We really liked the breakfast buffet. It had a little bit of everything for everyone. Although we are traveling for work my wife and myself even discussed coming back here with our children. Large lobby with numerous sitting areas. In the lobby there was a snack store that was accessible and had great lighting. Getting a Uber was easy and pick up was effortless in front of the hotel. There was a target around the corner which was nice and my wife got her nails done right down the street. The hotel was very close to all different types of restaurants which was nice having a variety of options.

Conveniently located near the Galleria, great price with hot buffet breakfast included. The breakfast staffs and the housekeeping staffs are very nice and friendly, they really took great care of us.

Our room was overlooking the highway, the room itself is very good and you can't hardly hear any of your neighbors from the sides or upstairs but the highway noise was so loud, we had hard time to fall asleep. I would recommend to request for odd number rooms that doesn't overlook the highway. Another negative is that parking was not included $22/night

The location was perfect, the pantry area where you can get snacks was terrific, and I love the self-checkout options when you don't want to talk to anyone, but they are still helpful in case the machine needs to be fixed. The breakfast was beautiful, and the staff was terrific, always chilling up and ensuring the food was hot; I LOVED THE TEXAS-SHAPED WAFFLES!!

The silverware could be washed an extra time or displayed lying down, not packed up like a silver cup. Finding a better display or double-checking the silverware to ensure it's clean would be great.

I loved the building, the spacious room and cleanliness. However, I had to call 5 times to have someone come to help me with the security box which wasn’t working as needed the batteries to be changed. The lady picking up the calls for the guest services on Wed 21 between 10 and 11.30 was rude and not helpful at all. I had to insist with the receptionist and even tried with the cleaning lady to be able to secure my valuables and avoid wasting time. Otherwise, the ladies at the reception were super friendly!

It was very clean. Very spacious. Food was good,however it would be boring if you were planning to stay for more than 2 days. Wifi was good. TV channels were acceptable.

Breakfast would be boring if planning to stay for more than 2 days. They don't provide room service. It is expensive overall. Food options are limited.

nice hotel, quite new. Good location. lovely complimentary breakfast. Possibility to do laundry and a nice pool to cool off. Also the small shop in the lobby is very convenient, with everything you need.

I did not like the $150 that is charged on check-in on the credit card. I suggest it’s better to do a hold on the credit card and charge the amount necessary on check out. because now I have to wait and trust the hotel to put the credit back on my card. Another thing that could be better is to inform guests about the facilities at check-in. About the breakfast, the laundry facilities etc. I had to ask. The hotel itself, is very good.

You have to pay for parking.

The best complimentary breakfast I've ever had. There were bacons, sausages, diff types of cooked eggs, English muffins, toasts, diff fruits, cereals, yogurts, juices, sodas, coffee, tea, cooked to order waffles ( do it yourself)... my highlight was the machine that made cook to order pancakes. Close to the Galleria mall, and the Waterwall Park. In our room, we had a good view of the freeway... and a different hotel that charges more.

The room was very attractive and the bed was wonderful. I would buy that bed if I could. I want to thank the reception desk staff (don't know her name, red hair,) who was very helpful! I had just left the hotel and an hour later realized I had left a very nice coat in our room. we raced back and she called housekeeping. Within 10 minutes I was reunited with my favorite coat. The hotel was exceedingly busy as it was last game of the World Series, but she and the housekeeping staff were so helpful and professional!

The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices. Could have offered more fruit option, but overall it was great!!!

If you are wanting a more quiet night, I would recommend asking for a room away from the highway side of the hotel. The traffic slows down around 3:00am. So if you are a light sleeper, choose the back side.
