This was easily the cheapest hotel out of 8 during my holiday so I wasn't expecting much. Yes, the room was on the small side (like most hotels in this price bracket) and the decor rather tired, but it was comfortable enough for a one night stay. Location, right opposite the station and close to convenience store and restaurants, could not have been better. The staff were pleasant and efficient. For the price, the accommodation and breakfast was very good value. (Some reviews mention a lack of fruit at breakfast but that is typical of all the hotels I stayed at, even the more expensive ones. You only have to see the fruit displays in department stores to understand why!).

Considering the price it would be unreasonable to find fault. You get what you pay for and, in my view,, this hotel is perfectly adequate for a short stay.

Very near to the Takayama Station. Located opposite the bus station. There is a Family Mart just located right below the hotel. The room comes with a small tub and I get to the the mountain view from the room window. I would say the price is justifiable, especially you want to travel cheap but still wants the whole room to yourself.

The bathroom had this funny smell. I left the door open at night so it was well ventilated. There's stain on the carpet.

It is very conveniently located across from the Takayama station and the bus terminal as well. Buffet breakfast was good value for the price. Staff were helpful, and they accepted luggage before check in or after check out. Family Mart are only 5 metres away, down on the ground level.

The size of the bath towels were very small. There were 2 small towels, the size of a hand towel, and the mat for the floor, which was much larger than either of the small towels.

A budget hotel that offers nothing fancy but it was convenient, clean, warm, and comfortable. The location was superb right opposite the train station. There were minimart and restaurants around. A good place to stay if you visit Takayama central and don't want to burn your budget on accommodation.

The room is super small, has no character, and nothing fancy about it at all but it is ok compared to the price. You don't get to choose your room temperature. You can only choose to turn on or off the ac (in summer) or heater (in winter). I don't like hot weather so I chose to turn it off and enjoy the room with the real temperature inside the building which was totally cool and comfortable for me. So there's nothing really here that I didn't like. It is a great choice of budget hotel in Takayama and I will stay here again when I travel to Takayama. It was my 2nd visit here too.

It is still beyond me how we booked this hotel so cheap during the peak season and on a weekend. At this prize, I expected something shady, but it was a regular nice hotel with all the usual facilities. We booked using the Japanese travel campaign for residents, so we paid 20% less and got coupons for every night we stayed- as much as 3000 yen per person, which got us a Hida Beef steak for half-free in the nearby restaurant. The room is a typical Japanese hotel room, quite small if you travel with a suitcase, but alright for rucksacks. I saw people in other comments complained that the bed was super hard, but for me it wasn't so bad. If you normally sleep on a harder mattress at home you should be fine. The pillow was not so great, but I could sleep okay. I think it's the first time I stay so close to the station- the location of the hotel is just opposite the Takayama station, you can see it immediately when you get off the bus or train. A 10 min walk gets you to all the usual attractions like the Sannomachi Street and the restaurants. Takayama is an extremely walkable travel destination. The only time you are likely to hop on the bus is when going to Hida no Sato or Shirakawago, and the bus stops are just opposite the hotel.

Very nice old town which was only a 10 minutes walk to get there. Also you can easily reach some very besutiful destinations by bus like the hirayu onsen and Shirakawago which we really reccomend to do. The train station is also very close. Our room was very comfortable and there was everything you need. There is also a possibility to do laundry. The staff is really friendly and you can ask them questions 24 hours a day.

Very close to the station, literally across the road. Shops for food and convince close by. Can walk by food to old town and folk village. Very clean and comfortable size. Staff nice and laundry cheap on 2nd floor. Good to have a bathroom with a bath. Can open window for fresh air, good TV with netflix and YouTube etc. Fridge in room.

Bed was so uncomfortable, very hard on the back. No coffee available in the room, kettle provided and green tea but nothing else. Not the hotels fault but people very load in the morning checking out talking very loud around 5am. Lights can be turned on and off by head on the bed, so easy to press by mistake with your head!

Location very near to Takayama JR station. The hotel basically on top of family mart, no problem in buying food and drink. Staff is friendly, help is open the door when we forgot to bring out the key.

Still using old key instead of card like other hotel and you have to pay very expensive if you loose the key. Take me a while to figure out how to open the door. Apparently you have to twist the key while pushing the door.
