I liked the spaciousness of the room. L shaped couch which could be laid on. Nice kitchen area. Washer a huge plus as I had clothes from 9 previous days to wash and dry The hang dryer in the bathroom was efficient. Staff was always professional, polite and friendly. English spoken was better than average even though I have decent travel Japanese No pun pun (long, angry) faces there. Not overly helpful but just right with proper affect. I've stayed in hotels, guesthouses, Air BNB in Japan for over 200 nights and as far as spaciousness , cleanliness and comfort of the room it was in the top 5, and I have stayed in some good hotels, Hilton,Mitsui Garden,Prince hotels etc. It is not a luxury hotel with a huge lobby , many scurrying people around trying to help, BUT it was a luxury room with 2 large full beds and 2 large bunk beds above them. I had room to do my morning exercises and stretches..jumping jacks, stretches, running in place and there was room for another person. It was a 15 min walk from old town which made it out of the way. Only drawback which wouldn't stop me from staying again was few eateries proximal to the Fav but it isn't a deal breaker. All in all.....GREAT. I wish more place in Japan were like the FAV.

I didn't like that I only had 3 nights there. If there was more to see I could have easily stayed a week.

The rooms are rather compact but cosy, super comfortable matresses, having a small kitchen with microwave/electric kettle/fridge as well as a washing machine in the bathroom is quite practical. There's a 7/11 across the street and the train station is approx. an 8 min. walk (city centre probably 10-15 min.). Friendly staff, they will accept luggage delivery to their hotel (Yamato/Kuroneko)

We weren't able to send our luggage from the hotel to the next city with Yamato (which was the case with all other hotels we stayed at in Japan), but there's a 7/11 right across the street, that provides this service (they'll also help you to fill out the forms as long as you've got the hotel's name & address in Japanese/kanji), so it wasn't much of an issue

Room was clean, comfy, with a beautiful ceiling and nice lighting.

Note that this hotel does not hold your baggage after you check out. This is the only hotel I have seen not provide this service. The train station has lockers, we needed 2 costing 1400 yen.

The location was close to the JR station and an easy walk to Takayama old town. The room was spacious for 3 adults travelling together, shower and bath separate to the toilet and small bathroom. We had a family room, the 2 double beds and bunk beds were all comfortable to sleep in after long days walking through Takayama. Kitchen facilities in the room in the event anyone required microwave or cooking facilities. Washing machine in the room was very handy, and I would have loved a dryer to be available. Overall a great stay, 5 minute walk from JR station.

Small issue, the pillows were a little uncomfortable.

We loved that our room was spacious and cozy, and we would like to give a big shoutout to the hotel staff, especially Ms Jurina! On the second day of our stay, we ran into some issues with our rental car and she was very patient in helping us to coordinate and translate information between our side and the car repair personnel. Without her help, our car would not have been fixed in such a timely manner, so we are deeply grateful and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts. Overall, we loved our stay here and are looking forward to coming back soon!

Location was functional, close to the train station, not far from town center. Hotel staff were communicative and prompt. There was clothes shopping and a handy 7-ELEVEN right across the street. Modern and clean, the room was as described and pictured. It provided a good bathroom, heating, WiFi and washing machine. Unfortunately, we were there over the holiday period and local food options were closed or opened late. It worked fine for a short stay family of 5 in the one shared space. Thanks for having us.

The bunk bed set up was novel and made the room feel fun and cosy. Beds were comfortable and clean with convenient access to charging points. Shower and toilet were both modern. Kitchen was well stocked.

No luggage room for bag storage if you arrive before check in time. Additionally, the property is located west of the JR station, while most attractions in town are located east of the JR station. Not ideal for that reason but it was still within 5mins walking distance of the station and there was a convenience store right across the road.

The hotel room wasn't large but was equipped with way more than we expected! It has a nice little booth seat where we had breakfast (bought at the 7 Eleven just opposite the road). It had a small kitchenette with a stove, pots, pans, cutlery, glasses, mugs and pretty much everything you'd need to cook up a meal. They even managed to fit in a washing machine (1 detergent pod was provided), 1 hanging clothes rack and 1 standing clothes rack. The bathroom was also exceptional - it had a small bath tub and a separate shower area. The bathroom was also equipped with a warmer so that you wouldn't freeze while showering. At night, the shower room converted into a dryer room as it was equipped with a ceiling dryer device that managed to dry our full load of laundry overnight. The room and building was super spanking new. The check in process was very short and fuss free plus the staff could speak great English. We were pleasantly surprised about that since lots of the other larger chain hotels we visited in Kyoto and Osaka could only speak Japanese. The beds were also clean and comfortable. We noted that they had an abundance of power points for charging all our devices at night. All in all, a very well designed room that made use of every inch of space in the most optimised way. We would love to come back again if we were to spend more days exploring Takayama. It's a great hotel for families who need to wash bottles for kids or clothes on a long stay.

There weren't many restaurants or shops around the area. We had to walk about 15-20 minutes to get to the town area where the walking streets and most of the restaurants were. Luckily, there was a large 7 Eleven just opposite the hotel which we could get most of our supplies from.

This has been our favourite hotel room in Japan. The family room was spacious, the bed arrangement was very clever and the beds were very comfortable (the pillows were also softer than most other hotels). It was really well set up with a kitchenette with stove and microwave, a large couch, and a washing machine in the bathroom (with detergent) which was so handy. We liked that the windows could be opened to let in some fresh air. There was a 7Eleven close by but not many restaurants.

We loved this hotel room - the only thing that would make it even better is a blackout blind as the venetian blind let in quite a lot of light in the morning. Also be aware that this hotel is about 600m from the train station but in the opposite direction to the main historic district and shopping area, so you will do a lot of walking!

We are travelling as a family of 5 so Fav hotel has the perfect room for us with kitchen and laundry facilities. The old folks sleep below while the young ones were happy with the bunk beds.

Nothing we dislike about, so we would definitely recommend friends or family travelling in bigger group coming to Takayama to stay here, for the location as well as the pricing.
