We stayed here when it was the Primus hotel but the Kimpton has taking this glorious Art Deco building up another notch. The cozy ‘living room’ vibes of the foyer are more inviting than most hotels and with the bar and coffee service it is a place to relax and unwind. The social hour is genius, bringing back a chance to mingle with people and have a chat. In a world where loneliness is a problem it’s nice to see a hotel offering a move to connect people more. The hotel feels like stepping back in time with the design touches. Our room was well sized and well lit from the internal light well and unlike other hotels the lights were easy to use with the “all on” and “all off” options. The location is excellent, a walk to everything but the new bikes are an excellent addition. We will be back.

For me the bed was a little soft. I need more support but it did feel really cozy and I slept well.

The new hotel is beautiful and clean, with spacious, tidy rooms. Very stylish. The location is great, the staff especially the concierge are excellent. The only downside is the small swimming pool. Overall, we’re happy with the hotel and would love to return—just don’t bother with the breakfast.

The breakfast, however, was a big disappointment. They offer a small buffet with cereals, fruit salad, muesli, chia pudding, croissants, and other pastries, but none of it was tasty. There were no vegetables or greens included, and all the dishes we ordered were oily and unappetizing.

I always stay here. I love the heritage and history of the building. The foyer is grand and gives a feeling of luxury and occasion when you enter the building. Rooms are always clean. Breakfast now has a self service buffet (finally) and the foyer music has been turned down (at last).

The board games in the rooms are a cute idea but they're looking a bit worse for wear. Sadly, this hotel now has bottles of shampoo/body wash/conditioner bolted to the wall rather than offering the minis to take away. I know this is a reduction in waste idea but for premium rooms, maybe still consider the minis.

The staff were very friendly, they gave us friendship bracelets when we arrived because we were there for the Taylor Swift concert! And they were accommodating when we asked for an extra bed. The second bed they brought into the room was not very comfortable but the main bed was comfortable. The restaurant downstairs is super nice and the interior design of the hotel was cool. The rooftop pool/bar was a good vibe. They also had bicycles you could use! Good location too.

We had a twin room on the second floor and it was so quiet and peaceful Staff are outstanding and go above and beyond to help Breakfast is table service which I loved Also love the Nespresso machine in the room.

Housekeeping was a bit patchy - third day our teabags weren’t refilled and the shower cap was taken away despite it being left on my makeup bag for Re-use - and they didn’t leave a replacement. Also took away a personal plate and knife that I brought from home - which were promptly returned after i called reception but I found that rather odd that housekeeping took a guests personal belongings. The plate was a decorative design from Spain and clearly not hotel china. The bar area is beautiful for a drink but the loud music makes having a quiet conversation a bit of a challenge.

The Kimpton totally exceeded my expectations, it was such a beautiful hotel from the lobby to the rooms. I booked a King Essential room and it was large, quiet, and super comfy. The staff and overall service were excellent. A massive bonus was that it was pet friendly with no pet charges, which seemed to average at $120 per night in the same area! We parked in First parking across the road and though a little tight, it wasn't too bad and we paid $40 for 24 hrs through their website.

My dog got called "Sir" for the first time ever and now won't answer to his name!

Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. In particular, they were very accommodating in allowing me to change my dates at short notice without penalty, due to family illness. The room was spacious, quiet and had a lovely art deco design. The bar/lounge on the ground floor was a gorgeous setting and a great place to meet people for a drink. Nice rooftop outdoor pool (heated).

The rooftop bar was nice but only open 3 nights a week. It's a shame that even in December(summer) it wasn't open more often.

Beautifully stylish, clean and friendly staff. The lobby area and bar were very nice for a nightcap, and breakfast in the restaurant was good—not great, but good. The room was lovely and reasonably quiet, despite being over a busy street.

The pool area was not as nice as expected, and the surrounding bar area was mid construction. The mini bar price list was on the tablet in the room, but not under an obvious category heading. When we mentioned that to the staff at checkout, we were told “yes, people complain about that a lot”. I would suggest that you address that then. Also, mid way through the night, the air con seemed to stop working and we both awoke soaking wet in sweat.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at the Kimpton Margot. It's a legit hidden gem right in the heart of the city centre. Its art-deco design is amazing and it offers amazing calm and tranquillity right in the middle of a busy urban environment. The rooms are spacious with fantastic bathrooms - all the amenities you need are here. At 5pm you can enjoy a complimentary drink from the bar and the food options at Luke's restaurant are brilliant. The staff were friendly and accommodating and nothing seemed too hard. I can recommend the Margot without hesitation.

I'm trying to find a criticism and I'm coming up with nothing. Perhaps if you were staying in Sydney for a longer time (we had 3 nights) you'd prefer something with some kitchen facilities? That is all. Next time I go to Sydney I'll stay here again.

The art-deco style of the hotel is superb, even the choice of music throughout the hotel is in keeping with the theme without being outdated. The staff were all friendly, conversational and helpful.

The beds were not the most comfortable, a bit too soft after 3 or 4 nights, but not bad. The breakfast was good but a bit rigid in format given he cost. It wasn't that there weren't some options but parts of the offering were pretty narrowly targeted. Most people would expect the usual self-service type breakfast, but perhaps some would like this waited-on format...
