Lovely old fashioned place designed with period features and items that take you back to an earlier era. If you are looking for that modern contemporary style of accommodation this probably isn't for you but if you embrace the older style is in a good location with just a short walk to the town. A laundry room was available for a small charge. Efficient electric heaters for those chillier times,

It was not a problem for me but there was no air conditioning if visiting in a particularly hot spell. Some may not like the older kitchen area and cabinets painted to look old but everything was clean.

Really enjoyed the old world charm of the Settlers Cottage Motel, lovely touches in the cottages, especially the quirky outdoor furniture. The location in Arrowtown is fantastic, a short walk away from the shopping and dining areas and in a very picturesque location with views of the mountains. The gardens are lovely. Very comfortable beds and a variety of options from studio, 1 bed to 2 bed motels. The owners are lovely and were very friendly and welcoming. And the BEST thing about the motel were the resident Burmese boys, Charlie and Monty, a pair of magnificent friendly cats who visited us in our cottage and hung out with us in the evenings! Cat lovers should definitely stay in this motel!

The highlight was the cat named "Monte." Carl was so sweet in having us be able to take Monte to our room. The sweetest cat ever. Monte even let us know when he wanted into our room during the stay with soft meows. For those not into cats, this was a great place. The proprietors were friendly and helpful. Very cute place within a 5 minute walk to town. We spent three days in Arrowtown and if we hadn't already been skiing, longer would have been great. Food options are numerous and we were very active during our stay: Took the hike around German Peak, hired mountain bikes and rode by two beautiful rivers to the Gibbston Tavern for lunch. We rented regular mountain bikes but everyone else was on E bikes. Caught up on Barbie and Oppenheimer at the cute little theater, while eating popcorn and sipping wine. Great coffee and ice cream at Patagonia. Wonderful dinner at Aosta.

We wish we could take Monte home with us.

This was such a charming place to stay in Arrowtown and all the traditional styling gave a feel of going back in time. While also having wifi and modern heating. Best bit was Monty the cat, who adopted me during my stay. It was lovely to her a meow and see him peering in the windows waiting to be let in. He didnt like it when I was cooking dinner and the knee to sit on went away 😆

We loved the cosy little cottage, and so appreciated the warm welcome we received from hosts Carl and Jane. The town was just a short walk away, with plenty of choice of bars and eateries! Also, the Historic Chinese Settlement was within easy walking distance and very enlightening regarding the early prospectors. All of this just 20/30 minutes drive away from Queenstown.

The decor was completely opposite from what I generally like, but I absolutely loved the regal look. So many little features like the bath tub outside filled with flowers, the day bed on the little porch. So many features that really give it a unique look and feel.

Bathroom was a little bit tiny, took me a while to figure out how to get the water running in the shower

Sickness prevented us from going on this trip from Ballarat & had to cancel at last minute I Rang Settlers & they very kindly gave us a Credit to use within year They didnt have to do this for the cancellation time was up we are very impress with there service & will enjoy catching up with them in the near future

The ambience of the buildings and the owners hard work was evident with the oldie worldie feel both inside and out. Loved the two house cats and doggy. The owners were amazing and made us feel very welcome. A short walk to the town. And central for day trips around the vicinity. We loved it.

A charming group of cottages; unique in every way. Spacious and comfortable. Private. Host friendly and welcoming. Parking onsite. Warm and cosy. A short stroll into the village. Ours was only a one night stay, returning to Arrowtown at the end of our holiday as it's only a short drive to Queenstown airport. Arrowtown village is delightful and a must to visit, plus, the food is amazing! Especially the fish and chips at the Fork and Tap and the grilled lemon ginger chicken at the Bendix Stables!

Was clean comfortable and very quaint. Was warm and cosy when we arrived Exceptional stay. Our host gave us a lot of valuable information for our trip as certain roads closed overnight with snow. We will definitely stay again when visiting Arrowtown again

. There was only one thing that happened And nothing to do with the accommodation There is an air raid siren that goes off if there is an emergency that requires the fire brigade. It went off at 1.30 in the morning
