Great location, close to the Old Town but you should keep in mind that you'll need to go up the slopes returning to the hotel from the city center. Anyway, Bilbao subway will help you out and Santutxu station is 5-6 mins. away from Occidental Bilbao. Although the hotel is at pretty busy transport artery the district is great with an old church and a pedestrian alley and park right next to it. Friendly staff, clean interior and comfortable lobby that appeals you to have a coffee with croissant in the morning!

The only problem was the hotel's wi-fi, it was weak/slow so it was better to use mobile data instead.

location near metro was excellent. quite and relaxing hotel, fabulous staff and breakfast was lovely. the whole hotel is a pleasure to stay in.

I have to swim due to my bad back. the price is 20 euro and includes spa and gym neither of which I can use. would be better for say 10 euro for swimm only option for the day - cost of 20 is for one visit so if I went twice in a day it was 40 euro etc which is excessive.

Room would be a perfect size for 2 people but we had an extra bed so was a little squishy. Bed was comfy, facilities were excellent and location is very good. Fabulous value for money. The breakfast is phenomenal for its price! If you are staying, book the breakfast. Staff lovely and friendly. They love to have conversations with the tourists. Now that I know the below in the section "what didn't you like". I would know what to expect the next time I would visit and therefore would be happy to return.

Air conditioning was not as strong as I hoped. Would of loved to have been able to open a window as the room gets stuffy. The wardrobe is not that accessible and is very hard to get clothes in and out of. Could of also done with extra wardrobe space. The Pool area looks a lot bigger in the photos. The photos also outline an outdoor seating area but I quickly found out that, it was the pool area with the loungers. More loungers needed in the summer months! Very hard to get served at the bar. It should be stated online that there is an additional cost to use the indoor pool and gym etc. or this should not be advertised as part of the hotel as it gives false advertisement to the potential booker.

The room, location and hotel itself was very good. The hotel is at a very peaceful and beautiful location, very close to Suntuxsu metro station and bus stop. The reception staff and the bar staff was very courteous and efficient at their job.

The facilities were basic for a 4-star hotel. There is no mini-bar, no iron. The hotel is not liberal at the basic complementaries such as water and even milk pods. It doesn't feel nice to ask for such things in such an upscaled hotel. The hotel is nice and can improve their service with the above.

Very friendly staff always assisting us in anything that we needed for our baby (travelling with a 12 months old child). Comfortable beds, good variety of breakfast. Very handy to have outdoor pool despite having to share with gym members

Disappointing to see how staff was completely understaffed as some strikes scheduled on the upcoming days due to their salaries being frozen for 4 years when they were giving exceptional service in all occasions Location is a bit challenging if planning to walk to center due to being "on a hill" (to consider if going with push chair)

The room was spacious, comfortable, plenty of plug sockets, really nice bed and all the facilities you need. Staff were helpful and the breakfast had a decent spread with both hot and continental items. The surrounding neighbourhood has plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants, the city centre is 15 minutes walk downhill and the Metro is only 5 minutes away.

Don’t trust Google Maps to help you find the hotel from the Metro as it’ll direct you to the gym that occupies the lower floors of the building, however the actual entrance faces onto the parallel main road which involves going up a very steep hill. I visited in March and like many Spanish hotels the room is too cold with the AC on but too hot without.

Very comfortable, clean room. Lovely bar area and very friendly staff in the bar. 5 minutes walk to the metro and a 15ish minute walk to the old town.

When we checked in we were told that the restaurant was closed all week except for breakfast. On our last two nights we noticed people in the restaurant and on asking at reception were told that they had had a 'problem' with the kitchen and were slowly opening again. Had we known it was open we would have eaten there.

We ended up taking a taxi 25e between us. Metro and bus just as easy Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Hotel decor was great. Bar area lovely. The staff were fabulous ( even the ones protesting for more pay outside with their horns!) Loved the pool and breakfast was delicious. Staff were smashing . Metro station close by get a Barik card (only need 1) just load it up for cheap transport. Lovely walk downhill 15 mins....

Hotel was excellent all around, staff extremely helpful. Food was very good for a hotel. Rooms were very good with comfortable bed. Hotel was near the underground. Other than a croissant and a juice we did not have a full breakfast in the hotel

The shower tray in the bathroom was a bit slippy, I think a hand rail in the shower would have a safe option

Ample transport opportunities available close by (Metro Station / Taxis / Bus Stop). The hotel staff were helpful and atentive. Breakfast was well stocked, not overcrowded and had many options to choose from

Whilst the hotel is not centrally located, there are ample travel alternatives close by. On site car parking was 20 Euro per evening, which appeared a little expensive but given the hotel location was not unexpected. Didn't appear to be a reduction for hotel guests. Cost to use indoor fitness facilities again perhaps should have been discounted for hotel guests.
