We spent 3 nights at the Canal St Inn and enjoyed very tasty bfasts, charming bnb home with great architecture, very comfortable bed, perfect size and location of room, much appreciated all amenities especially the hot tub! We so appreciated Monica's efforts, friendliness and hospitality! Highly recommend this charming bnb and location! Thank you Monica!!

Unfortunately not the case with another male employee who at best went through the motions, offered nothing to improve our stay and was not concerned with any level of customer service. First impressions are everything and his was negative, aloof and unconcerned with our experience. As a small business owner in Atl (CDEeventbartender.com) I know all too well the importance of good reviews and work extremely hard to earn them. Every time, every event.

We had an amazing stay at the Canal Street Inn. The hosts are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. They are also well informed on the goings-on in the city. The property is beautiful and lovingly decorated. Our room was huge, with a private bathroom, minifridge and coffee maker. The bed was very comfortable - I have back problems and yet I slept very well. The breakfast is just perfect, different dishes every morning -and all of them delicious. The street car, which stops in front of the Inn, will take you straight to the French Quarter. We highly recommend this beautiful Inn. We would love to go back!

Canal Street does get quite a bit of traffic (including street cars and the occasional first responder vehicles). It didn't bother us, but if you are sensitive to street noise, request a room at the back of the property.

The inn is beautiful and a little quirky. We had a large room and bathroom that was beautifully furnished. The innkeeper, Monica is lovely and goes above and beyond. Breakfasts were 3 courses of perfection, everything was delicious. The location is great. It’s a quiet, residential/business area away from the tourist areas, but close enough to everything that we were never more than 10-15 minutes away. The outside grounds and garden are lovely. It was a perfect place to stay. We were there at a quiet (and very hot) time of year and the inn was a great place to come back to. I would definitely stay there again.

Bed was kind of squeaky.

We enjoyed amazing Southern hospitality, loved the gorgeous, spacious rooms full of character, and appreciated the free parking. We stayed in the Prytania Master Suite, and it felt like a small apartment with a huge walk-in closet, living room, and bathroom. We also cannot say enough good things about our most charming and helpful hostess Julia. We had to leave early for a tour and therefore missed breakfast, but Julia packed us to-go bags so that we wouldn't got hungry. Downtown New Orleans can be reached very quickly by streetcar. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Very great for Jazz Fest. Additionally we had access to the quarter and the rest of the city on the street car line. The property was a very nice old New Orleans house with all the associated charm. A few wonderful restaurants near by as well.

The price could always be lower :). However, it was competitive for that time of year.

This is an excellent location for visiting New Orleans and, truly, ANY NOLA event from Mardi Gras to a first-time trip. It is on the streetcar route which makes it easy to get around the 'Big Easy' without a car rental - heading to the French Quarter/downtown, the Lakefront or Uptown is simple. There are plenty of neighborhood restaurants/bars with music to enjoy in the mid-city area if you wish to stay local - importantly, it is a very safe neighborhood (I am not being critical of NOLA but I lived there in the '80's and will not trivialize some of the dangerous aspects of the city). There is some off-street parking available but I parked on Canal Street during my stay without issue. The side entrance of the house meant it was only a few steps to get to our ensuite room. Although on the lower level, there is plenty of natural light from the large windows. Window AC units and fan system gave us the option to cool the room to our preference. This grand house is so well-constructed that I heard 'not a peep' from other visitors and was surprised it was fully occupied when I went for an always delicious breakfast ranging from biscuits & gravy to crepes. There is some fitness facility provided but my stay was not long enough to take advantage. The grounds, complete with hot tub, are stunning and a lovely place to relax - the big oaks provide welcomed shade. Everyone was so accommodating - even when my plan to purchase lawn chairs for the Heritage & JazzFest was overheard, I was immediately told that these were available to take to the Fest....which we did. The staff are unrivaled in their 'southern hospitality' but I need to mention Julia who is incredible and so attentive. Sorry that I can't download my many pictures but the website provides an accurate depiction.

The only thing that could have better was if my stay was longer! There is nothing that I can suggest to improve upon for quality, value, convenience....even the TV in the room was a big screen! Having more time to enjoy the grounds would have been a bonus but we took opportunity as time allowed,

An interesting bed and breakfast on a pleasant street with plenty of parking, nearby restaurants, and the Canal Streetcar running by the door. Reasonable rates and a friendly and accommodating staff and management. They were very flexible in extending our stay and bringing breakfast to our rooms when one of us became their first guest to test positive for CoViD and we had to quarantine on site. Solid WiFI. Nice garden to sit out in. Comfortable furnishings and seating in the guest rooms. It's got 11 rooms, carved out of a lovely 1912 Greek revival mansion, which means that the rooms are all very different, as are the room rates. You may get hardwood floors, 15-foot coffered ceilings, fireplace, lots of big windows, etc. Or you may get a ground floor room with low ceilings, concrete floors, very basic woodwork, limited light. This is fine, as long as you pay close attention to which room you are booking and know what to expect.

What’s not to like. I wish we could have stayed longer. The bed was super huge and comfortable. The hallways were lit by motion activation. The room was huge. Even had Netflix. The street car stop is literally right in front of the house. You can buy a pass on the LePass app. The house is very quiet too.

I can honestly say there is nothing I didn’t like.

I rely enjoyed the intimacy of how they served us breakfast. They were attentive to all of our concerns and needs. Staff was excellent.

First night, our AC was out in the room. But staff worked quickly to make sure that we felt important and comfortable. They worked to accommodate us and we didn’t have any more problems for the remainder of our stay.

The staff was very hospitable and kind. The entire place is beautiful and I was very pleased with my spacious queen room. The breakfasts were amazing and it was convenient to not need to go out first thing. The mini-bar fridge was a nice option to have something and not go out to get it. There was also enough space in it to stash my leftovers from time to time. I wish I'd packed a bathing suit to take advantage of the spa/hot tub that is open to guests. However, I was entirely happy with my clawfoot tub.

It's not a criticism of the inn at all but I anticipated using the streetcar more often. I really does stop right across the street and is very charming. It goes directly into the French Quarter and I did use it for one round trip. I found the numerous stops (and people getting on and off who hadn't familiarized themselves with how it works) to be tedious and slow. I ended up using lyft a lot which was a great option. Know before you go that you can load the RTA go mobile app and buy your tickets. The app also has video tutorials on how to use it for destination planning. I figured this out on my own and would have appreciated some advance knowledge about this.
