Hôtel Madeleine Plaza

the bath is so narrow so you can barely stand in while showering without falling! also there is no heat in the bathroom, so getting in when it’s 3 degrees outside is not fun at all. the room was not so clean. when we arrived there were crumbs and other pieces of papers on the carpet. behind the dresser there was a face mask on the carpet which means that the cleaning was in a short cut. one day i walked in the room right after the cleaning and the room was smelling terribly of an un clean mot. one day we arrived to breakfast and there was no clean/free table to sit at. we had to wait a while and there was only one person to serve and clean.

Location, location, location! 8th arrondissement. Close to Place de Concorde and high end shopping (Gucci, Prada, Hermes, Dior, etc.), although I just took photos of the beautiful window displays, and Laduree (well regarded for pasteries, tea, etc.). Also close walk to Musee L’Orangerie, the gardens, and Champs Elysees for shopping, dining and walking to the Arc de Triomphe. Reasonable walk (20 minutes) through Tuileries Garden to the Louvre and, obviously, very close (3 blocks) to Tuileries Garden. The hotel also is literally 50 meters from the Metro stop on the 14 line. Easy to get to by RER B from Charles de Gaulle and easy to go from there to wherever you need to go on the Metro. Hotel staff are exceptional: the hotel manager wrote me clearly about getting there from the airport and she and the excellent and congenial front desk staff gave me very good instructions about where things are and, with a map, getting around. Breakfast was very good for in-hotel dining, and the woman who serves encouraged me (nicely) to try my French, which I have largely forgotten. Though I recalled little, it was worth the effort and made our interactions special and enjoyable. Be pleasant and people will reciprocate with pleasantries!

My room was small, but that is okay, as I didn’t spend much time in it! My room was clean and the instruction book was helpful and clear. Internet access was easy.

unfortunately, there is a filter on the wifi provided. I could not use my vpn to encrypt my data, which meant I could not work. Some apps in my phone were also not allowed on the network (games for example). this alone I’m afraid is a reason not to go back.

The location of the hotel is excellent, just at the corner of Place de le Madeleine, just a few minutes' walk of metro station where two lines of metro are running. Many restaurants, cafés and the famous Faubourg Saint-Honore are within short walking distance. The size of the room was as expected as a hotel in such an excellent location. Equipment was "comme-ci, comme-ça" Reception staff was very supportive, kind enough to get us in even though we reached the hotel around 1 hour before check-in time. At the check-out, one additional receptionist helped us immediately when another receptionist was preoccupied with customers under "complicated discussion".

Breakfast starts at 7:15. If it had started 30-45 minutes earlier, it would have been much more convenient for us. And separation of shower room from wash basin / toilette was a bit "loose". I needed to be very careful to prevent shower water from leaking to the bathroom floor. One regrettable thing was the price. I stayed at Madeleine Plaza many times before and the room price was inflated this time, more than 30% higher than the previous stay though it can't be helped under the current circumstances but I felt a bit sad.

It is centrally located with Metro station only a few steps away. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. They assisted with additional pillow and electric adapter.

The next door construction noise was not good. Also, the bathtub is rather tall. Installing a handrail would help when getting out of the tub. The bathrooms are a bit small.

I mainly enjoyed the great location and comfort of the hotel. The room was large enough and was generally very clean and well put together. The breakfast was also fine - especially the fresh bread and pastries that were made it very. The staff was also very kind and helpful. All in all, I would definitely come back for the location and comfort!

I would have appreciated a slightly larger breakfast menu that offers different types of cheese and ham.

This charming Hotel is in the perfect location. It has been completely renovated. Everything is fresh. Lovely bar & breakfast. Rooms are large, for Paris. Price is very good for location & luxury. The staff could not have been nicer. They were very accommodating, kind, informative, and professional. A truly magical Parisienne hotel experience. I have been coming to this hotel for decades. Love it!
