Hotel Opéra Opal

It was a good hotel well located with everything very near; We were lucky because we had an antiques market just in the main door of the street with lovely things to buy for present at christmas; and excellent experience to share and repeat again.

The man who was in reception fisrt day didn´t give any information: we arrived late and we need some restaurant to have dinner; at the end we could find and excellent place but it will be better and it must improve to receive any information about where to go, at least fisrt night because it was raining and we were tired to look for a restaurant.

I stayed there almost one week and everything was perfect, location , value of money , cleanliness, attitude of staff all was perfect During check in Claudia and during check out Fariba both of them were extremely friendly and helpful and sympathetic And the hotel management sent a piece of cake for my birthday too 🎂 I will stay there again for sure

we liked that the hotel accommodated our family with two rooms that were close to each other in a separately enclosed section on the floor. Our teenagers and my husband and I felt comfortable with the easy proximity to each other. Also the hotel staff was kind enough to offer and provide a movable air conditioner as the rooms did not have installed air-conditioning. They did this proactively although we had not complained or anything. It made the nights much more comfortable with the cooling.

Situated perfectly in between two Metro stops giving access to different lines, the hotel was an excellent base for exploring the city. It was close to many restaurants, bars, patisserie and even a small supermarket, as well as being a short walk to local attractions such as the Louvre and the river Seine. The hotel staff were also very friendly, helpful and attentive.

The room was advertised as having tea and coffee making facilities but the coffee machine provided didn't quite work! However we could get hot water for a tea/instant coffee so it wasn't a complete lost cause!

We have now stayed at this hotel 4 or 5 times. Love the location, staff always friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Nice to see the rooms have been updated since we were last here.

The top floor rooms have a bath, with no standalone shower. Moreover, because of the slanted roof, unless you're a child or very short, you can't actually stand up in the bath to shower - you have to kneel! This feels like a massive design flaw and it becomes quite tiresome having to do this every single day. Air con was just about cool enough - again, another design flaw in the sense that a beam goes right across the air con vent, limiting its effectiveness.

The location near the Madeleine was great, close to lots of restaurants and shops. I was given an upgrade to a sweet attic room with a nice bathroom (with large bathtub) and lots of space. The receptionist Marina was lovely, and gave me good advice throughout my stay.

I loved the big bathtub but the tap was broken (confirmed by the night receptionist) so had to fill up the tub with the shower attachment. Upon checking into the room, there was a big ball of hair on the middle of the floor, and a dirty cleaning cloth in the bathroom. I was busily unpacking my suitcase, and got a big shock when I realised that someone had entered the room and was standing behind me. (She said she had knocked, but I hadn't heard her.) I pointed out the big ball of hair on the floor, and she proceeded to kick it out of the room!

We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights. When we checked in the receptionist said that they have arranged us a bigger room than what we ordered and it was kind of the hotel to do it. The hotel is quite small and intimate and we have not felt the other guests much. The hotel is located in a GREAT location just few minutes walk south to the Madeleine metro station, few minutes walk east to the A RER station and Roissy Bus airport shuttle, and few minutes walk north to Galeries Lafayette and another Metro station. The entrance to the hotel is in a main road and feels comfortable at night when coming back to the hotel. There are several resturant and bars nearby the hotel. If you are walkers you can even walk to Tuileries gardens which are around 15 minutes walk from the hotel. The breakfast was nice and had all we need for a fine French breakfast morning. The hotel lobby was inviting with a nice fireplace and hot chocolate afternoon, and the hotel room was clean and cosy.

You can hear the Metro train in the breakfast dining room and and in the hotel room in the 1st floor (I don't know how common it is), this is not very dominant.

The staff was very friendly! the room size was good! The elevator is big!

On one of the nights, there was an issue with the Hot water - there was no Hot water for approx 12hrs. in some rooms \ whole of the hotel. The hotel gave us 30% discount for that night and gave us breakfast for free until the end of our stay (another 2 nights)

Despite the location in a very central part of city of Paris, few meters of la Madeleine, a quiet, clean hotel with plenty comfort rooms and gratious staff allways ready to support the visitors
