Hotel Monarca

Originally booked 4 days and stayed here almost 20 days, so it was a great stay. Really a wonderful find to get somewhere so great and affordable at this location. Cleaning was 5 star and everyday, unless I put up a do not disturb sign. Full amenities with lotion, kleenex, shower cap and all the other usual ones, which I think is not usual in Mexico based on my stays so far. And every floor has a dispenser for cold and hot water, which was very thoughtful. And though I thought the room would be really small, it really wasn't. Location is really wonderful, I can't even start to go on about that, Roma is a great neighbourhood, Alvaro Obregon always busy and full of great restaurants and lots of stations within 15 minute walking distance.

TV options not great, no option for English audio or subtitles. And not necessarily a negative but as an FYI there's just a porn channel when you're scrolling with no need for special logins or anything. So maybe watch when kids are checking out the channels. Also, I think the experience depends on the room, I paid for the more expensive room and got good and large bathrooms. But for my 2nd check in, I got a tiny bathroom with the sink in the shower and went to complain and was told all rooms are the same price, which is not the case on booking.com. I was still switched back to a room with a normal bathroom but just good to know. No proper windows.

It is a very affordable option in great location. Bed was comfortable. Stuff was friendly. Cleaning service was good.

There is almost none noise isolation. There is no AC, there's a fun which works well but very loud- which can be a good thing because then you can't hear all the other noises. The ventilation in the bathroom could be improved - some mold starting to show on the ceiling. Despite those flaws it is a good option for exploring Mexico City with lots of delicious food close by. I would stay there again. Would be nice to have some place to put your clothes in.

Very clean, and staff was friendly and responsive. Mattress more comfortable than the usual hard Mexican ones. Easy check-in and out. Hot water fast and plentiful. You can open the windows to get some real air. Good location if you're looking for walking and street life.

The airshaft on which your windows open carries every last little noise from every other room. Bring good earplugs, this is crucial!! For me, the location was halfway between the main attractions (Bosque de Chapultepec with it's museums and Centro with the Zocalo and palaces). So, it was a 45 min walk or 20 min drive to wherever I wanted to go.

Excellent location. Loads of bars, restaurants, shops, library, around it. ( From cheap to fancy). Felt very safe day and night. Great value for money. Simple rooms with nice beds, many plugs, desk and chair. Water fountain in the corridor which is great. Helpful staff.

Could improve cleanliness. Bedsheets would really need changing. They seemed clean but stained from overuse. Not the best look. That said I would go back.

Good value for money. And clean. It is not a mega hotel and therefore you get to know the reception staff well. The location is a tourist area in Roma North, and an easy Uber ride away from the historical centre of Mexico City. Try the fresh Churros on the corner near this hotel. Many diverse restaurants to choose from in walking distance.

Roma is a nice neighborhood to stay in, so I was happy with the location. Reception works 24h. The room has all the basic necessities. The hotel provides water coolers to refill your glass/bottle.

My window was facing the inner shaft, so no fresh air was entering the room. The fan was provided but was super loud. At night, another guest confused the rooms and was able to open my door with his key while I was sleeping - creepy! They should really look into it.

Location was great which made the price a great deal. There are many great restaurants and drink places around, and also nice things to watch. It was very central point for turism, from the touristic center to chapultepec, everything is just a few minutes by cab or public transportation.

Only "con" I will mention is that the room is very packed, we had 2 big luggage and we couldnt find an unobtrusive place for them, we stayed for a week, so it becamed a little uncomfortable in the end. If you only have 1-2 carry ons, you will be more than fine.

Very clean. Also the covers were changed and not only the sheets. Location is very good. You get free purified hot and cold water and parking.

Room had no direct sunlight. The most rooms do not have direct sunlight. You could hear the neighbours watching TV

Its a great deal for the price, clean rooms, a perfect location a lot of restaurants, coffeehouses, bars on walking distance (Alvaro Obregon Avenue), a safe place to walk around, metro station (niños heroes) 8min and bus station (Jardin Pushkin) 4 min both on walking distance, is a mini market (oxxo) next to it.

Maybe could be that are kind of small the size of the rooms is not that small just not has big as usual but is not a problem I repeat is a great deal for the price and great location.

such a convenient location! simple and clean room the basics for a stay in Mexico City and the water fountain! we can refill fresh and hot water which is such a good thing to reduce plastic use (no need to buy bottled water) the staff is lovely and I feel safe knowing there is always someone there

the window room is indeed quite noisy and the room with indoor view has no view but it is quiet :)
