Albro House Hotel

Location was ideal for my first day in London, less than a 5 min walk from Paddington Station. Room was very cute, clean and comfortable with a window overlooking a pretty, tree-lined street. Although small, the room size is perfectly sufficient for a single traveller. The owners are a lovely Italian couple who were very kind and very accommodating. If you need anything at all, you simply ring a bell in the lobby area and within a minute or so they are there to help you. Breakfast was hearty with a choice of traditional English style or continental, complete with juice, coffee, or tea. I really enjoyed my stay - was exactly the way I wanted to spend my first day in London!

My room was located on the top floor - 7 flights of steep stairs up. As I am fairly fit and only brought a carry-on suitcase with me this was not a problem at all, however, if you have mobility issues or large amounts of luggage, the stairs may be an issue for you as there is no elevator.

Great location next to Paddington, very quiet. The hotel is in a large building with loads of other hotels. Basic, simple but has everything i needed for 1 night: comfy bed, TV, coffee/tea maker, a very small but renovated bathroom with a shower. No lift so travel light to climb some 70 narrow steps if you have the top floor room or 80+ from breakfast room - for me this was the perfect exercise. There is no AC so the room can be warm in the summer but luckily my room was on the North side. The breakfast was very good for this size of a hotel: continental or English. The service was truly friendly and welcoming.

To improve an AC would certainly help in the 30+ Celsius London heat and a hand shower would be great in addition to the fixed one to avoid getting your hair wet.

The location of the hotel is excepcional. Close to Hyde Park and just 15 minutes away from Oxford Street. You also have access to metro (Paddington station is 5 minutes away) and bus stations. The neighborhood is surrounded by lot of local businesses, pub and little supermarkets. However, it is not a busy area. Bedrooms are ok and comfortable. The shower works great but it was hard to get warm water (it was really hot sometimes) The personal was always so nice and aiming to help you. Breakfast it is not wonderful, but it is enough and you won’t leave the room hungry. I would highly recommend Albro House Hotel and would come back again for sure.

Little things, but overall the stay was great.

Excellent location, just virtually around the corner from Paddington tube station. This was the second time I stayed here. Top floor room, which met my needs perfectly, included en suite shower and toilet, which were very clean. More than adequate wardrobe space in a room that I found a fair size for the price I paid. Single bed was very comfortable and the room was warm. Hotel manager gave me a pleasant welcome again, and offered a good breakfast before I left, including continental and full English options. I found the full English good value and was just what I needed before a long day ahead of me.

Honestly, there was nothing I could fault.

Joe the owner and his wife were very sweet and tried their best to accommodate us though out the entire stay! Joe even kept our luggage with him for a small amount of money. The room is small but cozy and my bed was comfortable. Location is great just outside paddington station and there are many food options and shopping around.

Our room was in the 3rd floor but really it was more like 5 flights up in a tiny staircase without lift. I unfortunately even broke my luggage going up those stairs. But Joe provided me with tools to temporarily mend it which was very kind of him. The windows wouldn't shut so it was very noisy at night. Breakfast honestly was very bland and low quality. There was even an incident of hair in the food. Lastly, the cleaning of the rooms needed to be more thorough for example vacuuming and wiping down the toilet/sinks.

A friend told me about this hotel, as he had been to London before and stayed here. The manager is wonderful, he made me feel so welcome and the other staff was very pleasant to speak to when I saw them. Breakfast is great, a hearty English breakfast and cooked fresh when you walked into the dining room. This place is very nice, a great old house with lots of history, I found it perfect for a first time, solo London experience. The room was clean, the bed comfy, and when I did get to relax, such a cozy place for me. I loved the kettle and old teacups that were in the room. The location was fantastic, just a few blocks from Paddington Station, which got me anywhere I wanted to be. It is close to Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, and walking distance to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and other wonderful sights. I will definitely recommend to all my friends and family and hope to stay here the next time I come to London

I cannot say anything bad about this place

- very kind and helpful owners of the place, -quite close to shops, restaurants, metro or train (if youre goin to use it - we didnt), - 30 minutes walk to Buckingham Palace where you can start sightseeing, - two pillows in bed, -you can leave your luggage, - have early check-in if the room is ready

I think there should be mention on booking.com that the english breakfast is extra paid ( i couldnt see this information here, but maybe I overlooked something)

The owner was very welcoming and helpful. My other half and I unfortunately got split up on our way back to the hotel 1 night and even though he got back first and did not have the key (I had it) the Gentleman let him in which was very kind as I can't remember if he had met him as I checked in myself. breakfast was lovely and cooked to order.

Room was quite a bit smaller than we were expecting but it was on the ground floor which was a bonus for me as I am not great with stairs due to my foot. I didn't ask for or expect a ground floor room and was happy to use the stairs but it was nice to not have to. Even though room was very small it was neat and tidy and clean and very quiet and done to a good standard.

The hotel is very cozy! It’s located in the Central London 35 mins from the Buckingham palace! The underground is 5 mins from the hotel which is very comfortable. The stuff was very pleasant and nice. The room had all the needed equipment: hairdryer, tea, coffee, sugar, electric kettle, shampoo and soap. I really think that this is a very great choice for this price!

The room was at the top floor and it wasn’t really comfortable to go upstairs with a suitcase

Hotel offers great value for money and its really close to center. As young students "on budget" we were really happy about our stay. Breakfast was freshly made, yet there was no buffet. But I understand why, the hotel is bit smaller. At the same time less people also means calmer stay I would say. Bathroom pretty clean with fresh shampoos and soaps everyday.

We didn't noticed any kind of negative experience. We got what we paid for.
