Avon Hotel

The location of this hotel is perfect, couldn't be more convenient but I think the best thing was the general friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The room was clean and a nice size.

The decor looks very old (must be decades) and worn.... so even though the room and bathroom were clean it's definitely time for an update soon!

The owners & staff were amazing & so helpful. Lovely family & allowed an early check in & to drop off luggage early so myself & my partner could enjoy exploring the city as soon as we arrived at 10:30 am. Beds were so comfy- and in an excellent location. Breakfast was good with a full English & also choice of pastries. Staff very knowledgeable of area & provided road & travel maps. Will definitely staff again.

Rooms are small but not an issue- fresh bedding & clean towels were great.

I've been already several times at this hotel and still like it a lot. Good location close to Paddington station and also the Lancaster underground station is only ~5 minutes away. The staff is really sympatic and very helpful, if you have a question. And they are always friendly. E.g. they offered me earlier breakfast on the day of my departure, since I wouldn't be able to have it at their normal time. Even though there were problems with the WIFI in my room, they offered me a solution and I could use a different WIFI source. The full english breakfast is fantastic and one of the reasons why I like to return to this hotel.

The bathroom in my room seemed at first a bit unclean. However, this was more due to age than being unclean. Otherwise, no complains.

If you are traveling with people with walking issues there is no lift.

For the breakfast you can choose what ever you want to eat they made for you. From original english breakfast to hard boiled eggs.They have a fruits, jams, nutella, freshly baked toast. Location was quite to sleep at night. It was awesome because Paddington station was 5 min by walk distance. It was cozy family little hotel.

Maybe I missed sign to leave at door do not disturb. It was twice that lady who cleaned our rooms enter the room. She apologised but still it was awkward situation. Imagine if I wasn't proper dressed.

Comfortable, clean and well-made beds. There was a full English breakfast on offer in the morning. The staff were exceptional. Anna and her partner were so wonderful when I had a last-minute request and were very friendly for the whole time I was there. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly and I had a really good-sized room. The location was perfect - only a few minutes walk from Paddington station / underground and right next to a bus stop, so when I had to get the night bus from Trafalgar it dropped me right outside with my aching feet. Lots of places to eat nearby (huge recommendation for the Lebanese place on the corner and there were two great non-chain coffee shops very close by) but they offered room service if you needed it too. Hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities in the room. I could leave my bag there whilst I explored the city and then just had to pick it up quickly before boarding my train, very convenient. Will definitely stay again.

The properly is on five floors and there is no lift, so be mindful of that when you stay. However, the staff helped me with my bags and they did their best. The hotel is in the process of renovation, so some of it looks a little dated, but it was charming. With all the properties around there you can feel the vibrations of the underground nearby, but I actually found it quite relaxing and just shows how convenient it is for getting trains.

The breakfast provided was delicious and satisfying. The hosts, Anna and Ahmed, were absolutely amazing - they were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The location of the hotel was also perfect, with easy access to nearby attractions and transportation options. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay with excellent service. Thank you, Anna and Ahmed, for making my stay so memorable!

The hotel owners and their staff were very accommodating as due to a booking.com computer glitch we ended up in a hotel down the road for the first night, which was awful, the systems was over loading them with bookings they could not fulfil, how ever they swiftly moved s in to a room the next day right next to my cousin and her family who I was meeting up with for the first rime in 5 years. The breakfast was delicious and they went above a beyond to make our stay great. It is a beautifully ran hotel ran by a lovely family. Rooms are huge but they are comfortable and clean with what you would expect. Tea & coffee, toiletries, hair dryers. Our stay was great even if we lost the first night. Thank you Anna, Ahmed and Aneta of the Avon Hotel my husband and I give you 4 A's lol.

Nothing really apart from the booking.com booking errors on the first night meaning we spent the night in a very substandard hotel down the road. St David's Hotel was grubby, with no toiletries, toilet roll, tea and coffee making facilities in the room

Really good location, about three minutes from the Paddington underground. We arrived before the check-in time and there was the possibility to leave our bags at the hotel. The room was really comfortable and very clean. The hosts were also very helpful. Would definitely stay again.

The breakfast wasn't great. There were very few options. During breakfast we saw some guests having eggs so we asked for some as well but we were told that we had to pay for them separately. However after saying we weren't interested they gave each of us an egg, no payment needed.

A lift would be nice... A massive plumbing repair, on the first day, which the staff told me was extremely expensive, caused by a blocked toilet. This was obviously caused by a previous occupant of my room : I was in no way responsible, but I think the staff were a little dubious about that, although perfectly courteous. I am prepared to stay at the Avon again.
