The Gresham Hotel

The location of the hotel is amazing and is within walkable distance to Paddington Station . The staff at this hotel were super friendly and one of the nicest team of people I have experienced for a long time . So friendly and helpful and nothing was a problem . Lots of restaurants in the area and a very nice area to stay. Would definitely stay at this hotel again. Amazing hot water and pressure and no issues at all except for bed that was not comfortable and needed replacing but was not a major issue

The room is super small and we battled with two big luggage bags as well as moving around the room. I suppose this is the norm for rooms in London area in this budget range . Bed was not the best but we made a plan to make it as comfortable as possible. There was not actually much to complain about as we really enjoyed our stay here . Amazing staff and a comfortable stay in a fantastic area . No problem to stay here again

5 min walk to Paddington station (ideal for an early flight at the airport), central to London (to enjoy surroundings). The hotel was very clean, bed comfortable, all basics there (tea and coffee - which I was very happy to have ! -, shampoo and gel, towels, wifi). The bedroom was nicely warm. The street not noisy (due to the “hotel road” / parking space separating from the street road). There is someone 24h. An elevator. The place overall is pretty and the old aspect adds some charm. It’s very good price / quality for a night before a flight or arriving in London.

To be fair, my experience went very well, so here are simply comments about the “downsides”: small bedroom, shower and corridors (think boat cabin, so not ideal for someone tall and large). You can hear other people very well (thin walls I guess), but this didn’t disturbed me at all (my guests neighbours weren’t annoying at all, just laughing). I would simply take earplugs if people needs a full silent to rest. But again, good quality price for a close location to the train station.

I can thoroughly recommend the Gresham, I stayed here a couple of years ago, and liked it then, but it has been improved since then with more up to date decor etc, and I was very impressed….Obviously it is not a 5 star hotel with staff everywhere carrying bags etc….But for the price asked… 178 for a room for 3 friends, it was absolutely spot on…There is 24 hour reception and luggage Store…our room was Spotless and I mean spotless…lovely bathroom, bedding etc, loads of spare pillows, blankets etc…beds were comfy… breakfast which was complimentary was limited to just tea,coffee, toast and bit of fruit etc, but was perfect just to get you moving and fed till lunch..and appreciated…..The location is one of the best parts, 5 mins walk max from Paddington Station, and with local pubs and eateries near station, but after that going very quiet residential area, felt very safe during my stays for myself a mother with young child..and later with other women friends…

Nice hotel with reasonable prices. Very near to Paddington Railway station (6-7 minutes by walk) and to Hyde Park (5 minutes by walk). Good Wi-Fi. Very nice and helpful people on the reception. The room was cleaned every day of our stay. The neighborhood is clean and pleasant, and there are many grocery stores, restaurants and bars near the hotel. Our flight home was late in the evening and after we check-out shortly before noon, the staff stored our luggage, so we managed to walk around London until late afternoon and after that we went through the hotel and took our luggage. I recommend the hotel to any tourist who decides to visit London. I would definitely stay in it on my next trip there.

It was lovely and clean Location was good for buses and the tube. It wasn't far from Kensington Gardens. Staff were helpful

Shower small No fan or air conditioning so room quite hot

The lift was appreciated! The staff were great, I’d give special praise to the Albanian guy receptionist who helped me out when I lost my glasses. Everyone was happy, cleaners smiled and greeted you cheerfully! This was the cheapest that was available so I can’t complain.

The breakfast was very disappointing. okay some fruit salad and juices, tea and coffee but the main item was a hot but hard boiled egg with a morsel of cheese. I complained and later that day I was informed that from Monday 19 June 2023, a proper breakfast would be offered. I hope so, it’ll be interesting to see what future reviews say! That said I coped! The Bella Vista just around the corner provided me with 3 rashers, 2 Eggs on toast and coffee for £15, expensive but excellent!

I had visions of what a reasonably priced hotel in the centre of London would be like. This exceeded my expectation five fold. Very clean and well equipped room for my stay. Own bathroom. Paddington Rail and Underground stations were a couple of minute walk. Pubs, bars, convenience stores and takeaways in very close proximity. Breakfast was good with cereal, toast, fruit,coffee, tea, juice and the option of eggs, sausage, beans. I will definitely be back at sometime.

Nothing I didn't like. From a picky person's point of view and observation the hall stair carpet was a bit thread bare but I am not bothered by that and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Good location, 20min walk from Hyde Park and Madame Tussauds, 30mins to regent street/Oxford Street. 5mins to nearest tube. Plenty of local restaurants, bars, supermarkets. For a small boutique hotel it's got everything you need, comfortable place to sleep, shower and grab a quick bite before heading out in the morning. Breakfast is just basics but will get you by, toast, porridge, hard boiled egg, selection of cereals, juice, tea coffee, jams, biscuits and cheese. Decent price for a comfortable hotel base in Central location.

TV acted up, most of the channels lost signal and those that didn't went in and out sometimes. Didn't bother us as we were out and about mostly but wouldn't be great for kids.

The staff are the greatest asset, really lovely. Very good location for concerts in Hyde Park. Good value for money budget hotel. Staff are happy for you to use a fridge to store food if you have specific dietary requirements. For this grade of hotel a good selection for breakfast. I requested a fan for our room in advance of our stay which was provided. It was useful to have a small fridge in our room.

Small rooms, but that isn’t unusual in this area of London unless you pay a lot more for your stay at an upmarket hotel. The lift was a bit temperamental but worked.
