St. David's Hotels Paddington

The room (and bathroom) had a really good size and were conveniently located on the ground floor. Additionally, free drinking water (even sparkling) was available so we did not need to buy any water.

No new towels were provided throughout the stay and the rooms were not cleaned throughout the duration of the stay as well.

Very lovely staff, always welcoming and smiling. The room was apparently refurbished quite recently, because the bathroom was very modern and the room itself also quite fresh. And big compared to many other hotelrooms in London! The location of the hotel could not be any better; just a few steps from the underground station (Paddington) and many breakfast -options nearby.

Some sort of shelf or a table in the bathroom would be nice since now there is no place to put your things. Also a mini fridge in the room would be super, especially 'cos the hotel does not have a restaurant or even breakfast. Light sleepers might be disturbed by the noise of trains going just beneath the hotel, but for me it was just part of the charm. The bed was comfy but the pillow was too flat to my taste. Luckily there was one extra pillow in the room!

hygiene- the room was cleaned only every second day. one time we came back to the room, and were surprised that the room was cleaned and when… we opened the bathrom… towels which we have left on the floor to clean were left in the corner even more pushed away. when we did ask reception at least for some clean towels we were accused that we never leave the room and the cleaner could not do that (??? doesnt make sense). was quite disappointed to be accused and questioned why we need towels and wc paper :) also do not recommend higher floors, verry uncomfortable stairs and view isnt worth it. would have been nice to be informed about water tank next to reception before carrying litres of water every day 😅

single was small but absolutely perfect for someone travelling alone - lots of little areas that I could spread my belongings out. Window opened for fresh air if needed. Bed was extremely comfy. Shared bathroom small but I never crossed paths with anyone else using it so no issues. Room felt safe. Sink in room was convenient for brushing teeth, washing face etc. Would definitely stay again!

The place is located nicely, the staff is awesome and very helpful. The rooms and bathroom are quite small but that's normal in that price range in the center of London. The room was really clean and overall I can recommend the place for sure in that money. There are. nice places to eat around:)

The room was really hot even with the window open, even though it was quite chilly outside. Probably the ventilation is not very great. The fan in the bathroom was really squeaky.

The room was very clean and the hotel is in a lovely part of Paddington. The staff are very friendly.

The room was very hot as it's on the attic floor and the heater cannot be switched off and the window only opens a fraction.The mattress was very hard. I couldn't sleep much for those 2 reasons. I struggled up the 6 flights of narrow stairs. Had I known about all that beforehand I would have asked for a ground floor as there is no lift and I am in my sixties.

Location was great. Staff were friendly. Room was comfortable enough and clean enough (just).

A little run down (worn out carpet, scratchings on walls, broken fixtures) The bathroom fan was absolutely filthy and could be easily cleaned but wasn't. If you are given a top floor, there are lots of stairs!

The room was clean and the staff was attentive.

No elevator. Shower/ toilet was very small and the temprature of hot water was only luke warm.

We were staying in an unrenovated room, so the furniture was very basic but sufficient (I was glad for the table and chair and the possibility of storing clothes, because in these types of hotels there is usually just a bed). The room was quite large and warm, the bed was very comfortable, and it was cleaned perfectly every day. We really liked the area - lots of restaurants, shops, short walk to the city centre and the hotel is not on a busy road, so it was quiet at night. We would love to return again.

Bathroom was very small and a bit uncomfortable, could not air out well, but the water was running hot and that's all that really matters. Also we should have had a view of the park but we were in another room (which wasn't a problem, we just came for a night's sleep anyway). The walls were quite thin, so you could hear the TV from the next room and people in the hallway. None of this was serious though. Everyone in the reviews complains about the stairs, but they were perfectly fine (don't you have legs or something? :-D)

The staff was great, had the pleasure to interact with Ray at check-in and check-out and he was very helpful, as well as his colleagues! Cleaning staff was very nice too, and the room was always tidy. The freely available sparkling water at the reception was a nice touch.

The bathroom lacked tabs to put things on, even though they could quite easily be installed it seems to me. It would really help. The WiFi was a bit slow sometimes as well: I had to refresh fairly often for a page to load. The balcony's gutter was partly obstrued, meaning there always was several centimetres water on the balcony's floor and I couldn't use it. I didn't expect a balcony so I didn't really mind, but it could be still good to sort it, it's probably not great for the balcony itself I would imagine. Lastly, I would have liked to have a kettle available somewhere, it would have been nice to be able to make some tea.
