New Road Hotel

Love the look and feel of New Road. Rooms are compact but comfy, bedding and linens super clean and nice quality. Bathrooms are also fitted with nice amenities and are clean and pretty. Our only gripe was that the HVAC system was broken except in the lobby, so the team moved us to the streetside, where we only got morning sun, not the blazing August fireball. :) Bar is lovely, good drinks, great interior.

Better HVAC, but the team did everything possible to make us happy, including comped cocktails for the 1 night we spent in a superheated room - it happens, stuff breaks. The team took great care of us!

The rooms were really lovely, there's a great communal space downstairs with the bar and restaurant. The mini gym space and rooftop space were also a really nice touch, we were able to get some fun pictures and a bit of fresh air up on the roofspace as it was 35 degrees plus in London at the time. As we were travelling in a group, we were given rooms next door which was a nice touch. The location was perfect for visiting QMUL and the Royal London, very close to Whitechapel station and plenty of food and drink options in a very close radius. Breakfast at the hotel was pretty nice and there were a few nice options.

Sadly, the air con was broken when we arrived during the hottest week of the year and we weren't pre-warned. The staff did try their best to compensate for this by providing very powerful fans which did help but it did remain very warm in the room. Some of the bathroom fixtures were a little worn and could be difficult to adjust but seemed fixable. The breakfast team seemed a little overwhelmed when we went for breakfast, it was quite a wait for service but the kitchen were quick in preparing the order. The breakfast we had wasn't as great as the reviews suggested but could be down to the day we arrived.

I am very satisfied with my stay at New Road Hotel. The hotel itself was cozy, and the interior was well thought through. Staff was helpful and welcoming. I especially liked my room. It was clean, tidy and had enough space for two people. There are several locks on the door for extra safety. I would definitely recommend. Also, Coffee Replubic is located just down the road, and they serve lovely breakfast.

I don’t have any big complaints, but i will say that it’s located near a hospital, and sirens can be heard at all hours.

it was a really lovely modern hotel and great for what we needed. It’s got a games room, free hot drinks on every floor and a great restaurant and cafe inside. The reception were there any time we needed them and all the staff were really friendly. I asked to have a room higher up and they were able to provide this for us! We also still wanted to explore London after we checked out so they kindly let us keep our bags there for a couple more hours I would stay here again

Whitechapel is a great location to be to get to things closely but it’s a shame the area is a bit sketchy. The hotel would fit perfectly elsewhere. I saw a review from months ago saying their AC is broken and it was still broken when we arrived last weekend. We had a little plug in heater available to us but we ideally needed AC as the rooms are quite warm anyway

From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were greeted with genuine smiles and a warm welcome. The front desk staff were not only efficient but also incredibly friendly. Shout out to Perry who was an incredible host. We stayed in a warehouse room, which had everything we needed. Coffee machines on each floor of hotel was a bonus touch and the use of the space on each floor was fantastic, games room, library and even the fitness area. Check out the rooftop space, nice to go and enjoy your drink up there. Loved the nice touches of the original features from previous building and the décor was very tasteful, you can tell a lot of thought was put into this. We never used the restaurant but the menu looked amazing and very reasonably priced. Lots of shops around, close to Whitechapel station and a short walk to Brick Lane. We have recommended the hotel to friends and family already, and look forward to returning in the future. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay memorable.

Modern and nice equipped hotel. Helpful and nice stuff.

Unfortunately at the time we were accepted, the AC wasn’t working so it was too hot inside. Also room was very tiny and the bathroom door cannot be closed so there was a lack of privacy. The neighborhood wasn’t look safe at the night.

I rated this hotel highly mainly due to the fantastic staff there who were so helpful. The room itself is big, the washroom is huge, and while I'm not a big fan of open showers (no doors), it was big enough so not everything got wet inside. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and location was a 5 minute walk to the underground with so many amazing restaurants around (including the hotel's own restaurant which was great!). Also closest coin laundry is 10 min walk away which was handy. Wifi was also great and I was able to have a few meetings over video with no issues.

Things to note: there's no coffee and tea facilities in your room - there's a coffee machine in the common areas of each floor (but I could never find tea). There's no irons in the room - they are shared in an ironing room on one of the floors (which felt a bit backpackerish). Also no cupboard so you can't hang your clothes up, although a few hooks for jackets. Although I loved the place, I wouldn't recommend long stays for those reasons.

Lovely clean and tidy space. Comfy bed and good bathrooms! Restaurant downstairs is absolutely delicious, loved the burgers, but be prepared to pay a decent amount. The bar/cafe downstairs was also a cool vibe, lots of people working away on their laptops. Overall I liked the effort this hotel has gone to to make the place look fun! The rooms are small but it's London so seems normal. I personally didn't love Whitechapel as an area but I guess you save some money staying out that way.

Would have really liked a kettle and tea and coffee in the rooms. The machines and paper cups in shared areas weren't really ideal. Was also frustrating that we couldn't just get boiling water from them into our own water bottles.

Friendly, helpful staff, spacious room, no carpets as this is dusty in most hotels and we are allergic to dust mites...this hotel has clean surfaces, very clean areas, plenty of Coffee and tea at your own disposal in common areas. Quiet in rooms despite being located in busy east London. We were on first floor and it was quiet and beds were good. Shower was fine...good water pressure. Staff was always very accommodating and flexible.

Breakfast was not included in price of room that was pretty high compared to similar hotel rooms in other hotels. This should be included especially to make fairer competitive prices with comparable hotels.

Staff were very nice and accommodating. Hotel room was very clean. Nice mains rainfall shower. The bathroom is a type of wet room purpose built into the room with doors, as opposed to a separate bathroom, but I liked it. Nice big flat screen TV. Nice sheets. Firm mattress, which I prefer. Room was a good size. Didn't eat there, so can't comment on food, but there is a nice big comfortable reception area with a bar and restaurant. Complimentary communal coffee machine. Left luggage service. Close to tube station, buses and everything in central London.

I didn't like the area, but that's not the hotel's fault. The price was cheaper than a more upmarket part of London, so you get what you pay for. There were some strange noises coming from the air con/bathroom (maybe the pipes) at night time which bothered me a bit. There is no wardrobe or storage, but that's not a problem, if like me, you're not staying long and don't have much with you.
