Rhodes Hotel

Great location for Paddington Station. Easy to reach from Heathrow. Good restaurants and cafes nearby. Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park around the corner. Room was warm (it snowed during our visit), very clean, great linen and towels. Plenty of storage in the bathroom for 3 women. Good to have a small fridge and electric kettle. Hot water pressure was excellent.

We were put into a room in a property around the corner. So we had no contact with reception staff. The reviews said reception staff were very friendly and helpful, but we didn’t get the opportunity to experience this. Room was small, but we managed ok. Some noise at odd hours from people upstairs.

Excellent location near Paddington Station and Kensington Gardens. Staff were very helpful getting me to the room and settled in. Excellent shower and air con.

It's a small room up a few flights of fairly narrow stairs without a staffed reception desk in this separate area of the hotel. None of this was problematic for me but worth noting.

Fantastic location and very affordable for being right next to Hyde Park. Everyone complaining about the stairs and tiny rooms clearly hasn’t traveled to a major European city before ;)

Nothing, everything was fine

Great location close to Hyde Park, 2 subway stations and one train station. Pretty quiet during the night. Lots of great restaurants nearby. We were able to walk from here to a lot of touristic attractions.

The room was very small with a bathroom that felt more like a closet.

Great location . The bed was comfy and the bathroom was new, with a good shower. The receptionist was helpful and very welcoming. No noise from the street as my room was at the back.

Even with earplugs I could hear other guests in the hôtel walking, talking, or running water.

Rhodes Hotel was very convenient to Paddington Station and the staff were very nice. We were told where a local pub was and how to get to Hyde Park, Paddington Station, and Oxford Street which were all close by. We used a car service twice that the front desk kindly arranged for us.

The bathroom was so small I couldn’t get dressed in it. The shower dripped but I put the shower head on the floor of the shower so the sound wouldn’t bother us and told the front desk about it. The pipes made loud screeching noises at times but the building is old so this is understandable. Housekeeping only comes to your room every 3 days. Towels are very small.

Perfect location, team are very kind. Facilities are good and fine for me. Please pay attention that there is no elevator because it’s a Victorian building . It didn’t bother me and I don’t think it is fair to give low grade for this place because of this issue. Overall it is good place and the apartment itself is good for people who come to trip all over the day in London and just come back to the hotel for sleeping and rest. Water pressure was fine , little refrigerator is in the room, everything was clean. The road is central and safe all over the day. Not much noise at nights. there are double windows. There is well enough air conditioning in the room. The room is very small but it is ok for someone who is traveling and enjoying the city most of the day. Thanks again to the kind loby’s team.

The one person room was cozy and quite small, but big enough for one person to stay comfortably, although bathroom was extremely tiny (I'm quite small person but still almost struggled while using it). My room was in the second location, around the corner from main location, and the room was facing away from the street, on the top floor. Area is quiet, and there was next to none noise either from other rooms nor outside, even during the night. Note that room doors are really thin, and every single sound from the room can be heard at the corridor and possibly other rooms. Room had small fridge, which was awesome to store drinks and breakfast items. Bed was comfortable to sleep in. Lot of restaurants in the area, and closest grocery stores are in Paddington station. Good location: easy access to two tube stations (Paddington and Lancaster Gate), Hyde Park and Little Venice are near for nice evening walks. Walkable distance from Oxford Street. Staff was really nice and helpful upon arrival, and receptionist came to show the way and helped to carry the luggage to the second location of the hotel. Arrived before check in time, and was able to store my luggage at reception while going out to wait. Date for room cleaning was agreed when checking in, but there as possibility to get towels/trash changed also on other days. Wifi worked fine, a lot of channels on tv. AC was really nice and made the room cool in no time. Overall great experience!

Reception was untidy and cluttered, which looked a bit unprofessional. Staircases are narrow but manageable.

The hotel was split between two different buildings so although we booked the Rhodes Hotel we actually stayed in a building around the corner. Don't let that put you off though, it's literally 30 seconds around the corner, I've stayed in big name hotels and had to walk further, to the main reception, let alone, get to my room. So all was good. The place was very clean and came with everything you'd expect, tea, coffee, milk etc. Bed was very comfortable and the pillow was literally the best I ever slept on. I slept like a log, so 10/10 for bedding. On a whole I would recommend this hotel, it has some very quirky features, as you can imagine you are staying in a very old building, so the architecture isn't going to be as modern as a more recent building, but I can't complain.

I wouldn't say there was anything to dislike about this building. It offers everything you would expect. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and nothing was a problem. Although we booked at the Rhodes Hotel, we were actually a 30 second walk around the corner, but it worked out very well, as Ubers were easier to pick up so on a whole it worked out very well. Not as if it was ever going to be an issue. The staircase gets a little tight the further up the floors you go, might not be for everyone but it wasn't an issue for me, if you have mobility issues you might need to mention when you book. But on the whole it's an old building, you will always get quirky little features you may not see in a newer building. Either way, I'd definitely return.
