This was a unique lodging close to public transportation and within walking distance of many tourist attractions (15 minutes to the London Eye). The staff were wonderful. The food in the pub was great and we ate their a few times. There was also a Tesco Express across the street for breakfast and snacks foods. The bed was very comfortable with quality linens and the bathroom was stocked with lovely toiletries. We has no issues with pub or street noise.

More a caution than a dislike - our room (at the front of the building on the 2nd floor) was very small. Luckily we had brought carry-on suitcases with us as not sure how we would have handled full size.

We stayed in room one. It suited our needs for our quick trip to London. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. The area around the hotel had everything you needed. Coffee shops, a Tesco and in walking distance to a metro. The food in the restaurant was delicious and you get a discount too. The staff were helpful as well. Lots of stairs to climb but not an issue for us. The only issue I had was the mini fridge didn't cool. It was on but not working well so we wasted a bit of food. Nice place I would recommend.

The Tommyfield has six rooms - we stayed in one for 8 nights. The room was bright and very well furnished with everything we needed including a wonderful shower. Our room was on the top floor and, since it's an old building, there's no lift, but the staff were very helpful with carrying our luggage. The food served in the bar is of high quality and guests receive a 33% discount which was brilliant. We loved every aspect of The Tommyfield, but its very greatest asset is its staff - friendly, sociable and went out of their way to support us. We'd like to give it 12 stars out of 10.

We arrived early (12 noon)and we were allowed to check in, as we wouldn’t be back until after their last check in at 10pm. You have to check in at the bar of the pub and Miya was really lovely and very helpful. She helped us to the room with our bag and showed us what to do for when we arrived back later that night (a code for the door is needed). Miya offered us lunch in the pub (you get a 33% discount off food as a guest). The food was fantastic! My son said it was the best burger he’d ever had. It was homemade and really filling. The location to The Oval was fab! (Which is why we visited London). Later that night, we were very impressed with the room. Everything was provided, ample toiletries and lovely fluffy towels. We thanked the heavens above for the air conditioning, as it was quite warm. The bed was comfortable and the room (and bathroom) was very spacious. This is a rarity in London! The bedding was feathered, which is a problem for me, and had I been aware I would’ve asked for it not to be, but I managed and I slept really well. Would we go back? Absolutely!

Nothing at all. Just a slight niggle was the toilet. It was set really high. I am average height and I was on tiptoes when seated. My son, found it a struggle as it was much too high for him. Perhaps, provide a little step (can be bought from IKEA), especially to help children or shorter adults.

My husband and I booked this hotel so we could go to the rugby at Twickenham. it was a great choice, perfect location, not too far out of central and close to Vauxhall. The underground is a short 5 minute walk and plenty of bus stops around. Check In is super easy (at the bar) the staff were friendly and welcoming. you can get 30% off food for staying in the rooms. We stayed in room 1 which was beautifully decorated. very comfy bed. The shower is in the room which we didn’t know but it was fine for us. the rainfall shower was a plus. there is a Tesco express and a londis within a minute of the property. Check out was super easy and we left our keys in the drop off box. We would 100% recommend and would love to return.

we loved the property the only slight issue was the door to access the rooms sticks, it takes a few attempts to open but that’s it.

Originally booked because of the excellent reviews and the fact we needed to be close to The Oval cricket ground and it is less than 10 minutes walk from here. The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with tea and coffee making facilities and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was stunning with a stand alone bath plus a separate shower cubicle. Can highly recommend the accommodation and the food in the pub (the roast chicken was delicious!) where guests receive a generous 30% off!! The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Would definitely book again.

The location of the hotel is excellent, we were able to get into the city center easily. The staff at the restaurant is super friendly, we enjoyed our dinner and drinks downstairs. Good breakfast is only served during the weekend (and is not included in the room price). The bathroom was beautiful and stylish. The hotel is located next to a busy road, the windows provided good noise-cancellation.

Even with the windows closed, we could hear the traffic, but it was fine since we stayed only for a few days. It was rather busy when we arrived, downstairs at the restaurant, so we did not really understand how we needed to check-in (we did not see any signs with reception). The staff was super friendly and helped us immediately.

Tommyfield Hotel took us by surprise. On entry it didn't seem promising however our room was amazing. So spacious, great view, amazing bathroom. Probably the largest bathroom we've had during our 2 month holiday. The bed was comfortable and the amenities were great. No complaints what's so ever!

This isn't anything to deter people away from this amazing little place but the water pressure was poor. Apart from that, nothing!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Good location 5-10min walk to Kennington station-> from there easy and fast to get to anywhere. Also lots of restaurants and corner stores around. For check in you have to get inside the pub and to the bar. Staff was very friendly! The rooms were clean and we had shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion. Would stay here again.

The bathroom was a bit cold in december, but no biggie. :) Also a lot of people mention the stairs negatively in their reviews and personally I didn't mind those at all. However, I would not recommend to stay here if you need easy access.

unfortunately I am a light sleeper and the property is situated on a very busy junction with continuous traffic - although there is secondary glazing I was unable to sleep due to the noise. Others may not find this to be an issue if they are used to traffic noise, which I am not . (room 2)
