Super friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic food, excellent location. Local train station across the road, we went into Oban, very scenic rail journey Kilchurn castle and St Conan's Kirk are both nearby and a must see. All in all a brilliant 2 night stay.

Our third stay at Ben Cruachan Inn. Fantastic food and a team of staff who always wear a smile. Mike, Alice and David were brilliant and nothing we asked for was too much trouble. We stayed in one of self catering lodges but ate in the pub, for me it’s a perfect combination as a dog owner. Pooch was always welcomed, Cameron actually brought her treats and water before my beer and starter 😡😡😤🤣🤣 Keep up the good work, can’t wait for our next visit!

A small hoover or dustpan and brush would be good in the lodges for longer stays (especially with a dog). Would be good if the website mentioned a couple of small aspects which are included, eg iron and ironing board, toaster, fridge to help people who haven’t stayed before.

self contained modern apartment (about 5 or 6 of them in terrace), detached from hotel, which had a balcony overlooking a bit of the loch. located quite high above road but good vehicle access to the apt and parking for those who needed it. very clean. beds comfy. well equipped. good accessibility for those less mobile from parking area and to/from hotel ( no need to use any steps ). only downside was tv screen not really veryvisible from settee. settee was too heavy for us old people to move or would have rearranged the room a bit! the hotel and bar/restaurant was a nice place to sit with a very welcoming atmosphere and it also has a huge balcony overlooking the loch. the staff were very friendly and very helpful and interacted well with the customers. the restaurant served a mix of traditional ( sometimes with a twist) and modern. food we felt was above average and not too expensive. shop right next door directly opposite entrance to loch awe railway station. bus stop right in front of hotel ( was below level of hotel so not at all intrusive.)

see above re settee and tv! we felt the shower unit was a little on the small side.

We stayed at the Ben cruachan inn from Saturday 22nd April- Monday 24th and can’t fault the place at all. We arrived to a warm welcome and a nice clean and modern one bedroom self catering apartment with our collie Luna. The restaurant/bar is nice and cosy inside and the menu is small but mighty as everything we had here was 10/10. The surf and turf is especially nice. We ate here both nights out of choice and the steak was cooked to perfection both nights. They have a great selection of drinks also. Breakfast in the morning is pricey if not booked direct through the inn itself but absolutely delicious and so worth the money in my opinion, you get loads! The staff are incredibly friendly but not over bearing and make you feel completely at home.. and very much so doggy people if you do choose to take your furry friend. The inn is situated a few minutes up the road from the start of Ben cruachan itself which was a lovely hike. For the untrained you can stop at the dam which offers beautiful scenery, from there you can start the ascent to Ben cruachan. We had a small issue with Wi-Fi not connecting (albeit you get 4G here) however it was fixed promptly on our return to the apartment. A great trip all round and will definitely return to the Ben cruachan inn in the future.

internet didn’t work initially, however the staff resolved the problem the next day and were a pleasure to stay with. could not recommend this place more.

The location is perfect and after seeing so many run down hotels/inns throughout the highlands it was wonderful to see a thriving and modern inn which obviously is the heart of the community. Loved sitting on the decking in the evening, very relaxing and peaceful watching the stars and traffic lights over the loch. Kids loved the watching the chickens roam next door .especially when one flew over the fence and ran last the lodge..much hilarity. Get ready for the cockerels.

Few small points. We only stayed for one night but longer would have been awkward & cramped in the cabin as the space is extremely limited (we had the bigger cabin) when the sofa bed is out. Small outdoor table only had two chairs for a family of 4 who wanted to sit outside in the evening. Only the two larger lodges have rain canopies. Given the small space inside, sitting on the deck is the perfect space extension however impossible in the dreary weather without a canopy. Few things missing from the cabin, tea towel, bottle opener, bedding, all swiftly sorted by the friendly gentleman we saw..just a minor point to hopefully pass on to housekeeping to save the inn staff running round replenishing items! Thanks

We loved the Garden Villa we stayed in with our dog. It was supplied with everything we needed for our 2 night stay. Staff were very friendly & helpful. We ate in the Inn both nights and the food was very good. Big bonus was that our dog was allowed to join us when we had dinner in the Inn..& she was supplied a bowl of water and a plate of dog biscuits which she enjoyed. Look forward to returning to the Cruachan Inn in the future.

Would have liked to order a steak for my meal but due to the cut of the meat (& I appreciate it was the best way to cook it, as my husband had it..was only available medium/rare. I prefer it more cooked, which is my preference. No outdoor bins to put my dog’s poo bags in. Poor quality of toilet roll.

The location was perfect, only 30 minutes from our ferry from Mull. The parking is easy and you are welcomed the minute you walk in. Fast check in and a lovely warm bar area to sit and relax. The food is absolutely gorgeous, breakfast too. Really nice Sauvignon Blanc and Tennants lager in immaculate glasses. The staff are all really friendly and very professional too. The rooms are immaculately clean and comfortable and the shower was lovely after a long day outside seeing Mull. We will definitely be staying here again.

There is nothing not to like.

Warm friendly welcome.

Dinner menu not too my personal taste, but the lovely head of hospitality and chef made a plan to cater for me and related allergies. Hugely appreciated. A lamp (wall light) and shelf for charging phone, beside the sofa bed and sockets would enhance the additional guest comfort. The table and chairs from adjoining cabin obstructed the view from the sofa in my cabin. Both green dining chairs were stained beyond redemption.

A great two night stay whilst walking Ben Cruachan. Room was a good size, as was the en-suite, and the added bonus of a little kitchen was a welcome surprise. Evening meals were good, but the menu is a bit limited. Very nice bar area and outside seating areas. Breakfast was really good but not included in the room price which when all added up makes this an expensive stay. The food we had was all excellent, just the options a bit limiting depending on your personal preferences.

My experience is that it is over priced when adding the room costs to the additional costs of adding a breakfast on top. Whilst the rooms were clean, comfortable, a good size and look like they have been re-decorated lately, we stayed in better options during our trip and got better value for money. The menu needs to keep a Pasta Dish as an option not just a "special of the day" as it was superb..
