Chevin Country Park Hotel & Spa

We liked the location, it was relaxing and welcoming. The private lake is lovely to look over especially at night where you will see the ducks. The walk around the cabins opens up some great views over farmland and the airport where you can see planes taking off and landing. As it's close to Leeds Bradford airport. The staff were very friendly and so were the patrons of the retreat, which mostly hosted wedding parties while we stayed. The price is good, you get complimentary access to spa facilities and breakfast. The bed was massive, and the tub over exceeding our expectations.The nearest towns are not far in the car and there are some great pubs around which are reasonably priced and have great food.

When we booked our room which was a standard, the description didn't mention that the cabin would be a split room, which caused a little problem when we could hear the couple next door snoring thru the first night, wasn't a problem the next night, which didn't effect our get away.

I have stayed at the hotel on a number of occasions visiting family in the area. I love the location, relaxed atmosphere, food and the pool and spa facilities. This time I stayed in cabin 69, one of the furthest from the hotel. It was spacious, comfortable and quiet.

The bathroom in the cabin is rather dated, with a shower over the bath. I chose to shower at the spa. It would be great to have a walk in shower in this cabin. I also had to pay £15 extra to swim between 5 and 8 and the pool was mostly empty. It would be a lovely gesture to residents to include swimming in the cost of a room.

I was attending a wedding so stayed over with my family, I specifically added to the booking that I need a cot for my room. I would’ve assumed that this would have allowed us a room with slightly extra room to be able to walk around and get to our child through the night. but this wasn’t the case. defo not ideal for anyone with a baby. also the hot water didn’t work in our room so had to have a freezing cold shower. would’ve saved at least £50 by booking through the hotel, they specifically said at reception there was nothing they could do about our room as we booked through booking.com

Thoroughly enjoying our stay in Cabin 63. The Cabin is basic but clean. You have everything you need, TV, Bath shower, fridge, wardrobe, plenty of drawers, iron and Hairdryer. Cannot fault it. Peaceful surroundings, 2 minute walk to Hotel, Spa, etc. Pool, 2 Jacuzzis, steam room, sauna, lovely. Monday evening pool staff were lovely, lady brought our drinks to us so we could drink them in the outside jacuzzi. Sat outside under a Teepee watching the family of geese and family of Moorhens on the Lake . Very relaxing experience. We highly recommended staying here. We will be back. Food good, waiting staff and reception staff very friendly and helpful. 10 out of 10 for breakfast, chef very humble. booked extra night stayed 3 nights instead of 2

The hotel was situated in a great place, the spa,gym n pool was great!! The hotel staff were friendly n helpful!!

The Swaledale Lodge was amazing - The interior was immaculate and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant Sunday lunch and desert was delicious and service from all staff during our stay was friendly and very helpful. Pool was lovely and outdoor spa area was great 😀 We will return Thank you

Lodge decking unswept and wasn't as clean as indoors we had to put towels down couldn't find a brush otherwise we would have swept up. Jacuzzi a bit of a let down only 1 jet out of 4 worked. Pool changing area a bit drab in comparison to the Lodge. This was the most pricey of all the lodges so ideally would express dissatisfaction due to dirty decking and poor Jacuzzi.

Room was comfy and warm on what had been a very cold week. The staff were very friendly and looked after us well. Breakfast was gorgeous (continental buffet and cooked breakfast to order). The inside of the main hotel is really gorgeous with the log walls and hearth at the reception/bar. Location was great up on the Chevin and a short walk to the forest park or over into Otley where there are some truly fab pubs and cafes. We don't have a car so weren't sure how walkable things would be but it's a short cab from Menston/Guisely station. You probably need to take a taxi if you're going to a pub in the evening as there is no footpath/lights on the road and people can drive a bit crazy but the local cab firm (Fusion?) is super cheap and reliable for this.

Had some recurring issues with the card for entering the room as the magstrip kept becoming demagnetised -- could possibly be replaced with a different system or good old fashioned keys. However the staff were quick to resolve and give us replacement cards when needed. The sauna wasn't super warm and you weren't allowed to soak the rocks, would be nice to be able to adjust the temp.

Excellent location. Close to Otley and Wetherby. Peaceful serene environment for both Wildlife and people. Food good drinks very good prices. Staff ecxcelkent, Risha very helpful pleasant and cheerful same as young man on swimming desk. Steve, pool and groundsman, very cheerful friendly and helpful. To be honest we do not have enough room to mention all names but most staff very good polite and cheerful. Helpful and listen to your needs.

Manning of reception in early hours as we needed some one but no one answered the phone.

Close to Leeds airport, helpful staff, a kind of winter wonderland these days. When your flight is rescheduled/cancelled and you find late in the night a warm accommodation and kind people it is very nice. Also they were trying to help next morning with finding a ride and help with Uber when it was stuck in the snow. They even didn’t charged us for ordered coffee in the morning. I’m sorry I couldn’t enjoy more the location, due to unfortunate circumstances with the flight. PS- the cookies found in the room were very much appreciated also .

They need to invest in a 4x4 / snow car :), luckily it is quit close from the main road

Looks like the place mostly on the outside could do with some proper maintenance as there are some joke repairs,paint on the doors where it has dribbled down the glass and not been scraped off, silver leak repairs on the water down pipe, general touching up on the wood staining. Seeing the staff doing more than one job at a time but they managed to keep smiling.
